I am on the sleeper train to edinburgh and have now woken up and can't get back to sleep
So pleasures for yesterday:
1) I was on holiday
2) Sun shone and birds tweeted
3) Baked some biscuits which were a tad odd but edible
4) Made some fishcakes from the rest of the ys trout
5) Went to see my middle brother, sil and 12 week old nephew. Sil was on her best behaviour.
6) One of my DB's oldest friends who is in London for work popped round so it was nice to see him.
7) Definitely not MS but took my dear friend G out for dinner for his birthday and we had a lovely evening. I haven't seen him since November when I told him I never want to see his awful boyfriend again.
Have a great day
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Morning
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Another day cycling to work, it will stop hurting soon:o
2. Baby present bought for a friend of OH. Should have been £10 but with discount and a free voucher paid £3. This will go with the blanket we have made so looks like a really nice present for not too much money.
3. Made an Approved Food order so lots of goodies to look forward to.
4. Lovely sunshine so more washing line dried
5. OH cooked dinner, I did have to cause a bit of a scene for this to happen though. Sick of having to do everything and let this be known. He thinks I have got it out of my system now but news for him and all bad still got one more moan to come:D
Hugs to all who need them0 -

Oh I do that every now again! Nice to know it's not just me!
1.Another good day at work....3 in a row...almost as good as a No Spend Day, a Good Work Day!
2.Caught in traffic jam coming home, took 45 minutes instead of 15 as there had been a crash . However, I enjoyed listening on a new radio station that only plays 80's music, I know all the songs!
3.DD2 made cakes.
4.OH has sold more on fleabay, had a lovely chat with one of the buyers when he came to collect. Very chatty!
5.It's been a lovely day here, cool this morning but sun came out , trees are continuing to change colour, flowers are having a late burst of colour & birds are singing! A lovely evening.
6.Going out for dinner.....pre-birthday treat for me! Will be a year older tomorrow!
7.Bought cinema tickets, which were reduced anyway & got staff discount again! :TThis will do a couple of films during the holidays.
Have a lovely day0 -
5 for yesterday.
1) Finished painting the kitchen. Have done all the cupboard doors in white paint (were previously brown) although I wouldn't recommend this and am not happy with the streakiness of the cupboard paint at all. Did the walls in blue this time.
2) Put a few more plants in the garden.
3) Went for a dog walk with my brother in the wood locally and got some more wood chippings for the garden.
4) Texts from OH. :-)
5) Sunshine.
6) Watching Just a Minute!
7) Headteacher at school being sensible. Ex husband is being a bit weird again and smaller son decided he would rather not go to tea with him after school (they go every Tuesday). Instead of saying to the staff to phone me to pick him up, he decided to pretend to be ill. Cue the head spending 2 hours trying to talk him out of a toilet cubicle...
...I then had Mrs B (his teaching assistant) on the phone telling me she thinks he is not ill but doesn't want to see his father. Pretty impressed with MrsB fathoming this out. She pointed out this is not the first Tuesday when he has suddenly become ill and I have been called. She then said they know when he has spent the weekend at his father's because he is "sad and angry". Well, I think if any one of us had been in the company of that gentleman over the weekend, we'd be sad and angry as well!
So I went to school 15 minutes early thinking I would swoop in and get smaller son and the ex could pick up bigger son. I went up the "back" drive and the head was waiting for me and backed up what the teaching assistant said on the phone - that they can do nothing with smaller son after the weekends away. :-(
Cue looming figure of ex who had presumably seen my car. Got ushered in very quickly by Head and smaller son appeared and started saying he wanted to go home, didn't want to see his father etc. Ex got into school and the one pleasure of yesterday afternoon is that school have now seen him in full flight. Smaller son and I got pushed in to the head's office (by the head, not the ex!) and she shut him out. I don't know what the head said to him but he went out of the school in the end and got bigger son and smaller son and I moved very quickly to the car and drove off.
I can't really imagine that this contact with the ex and smaller son is going to continue long term. Which then means he can take me back to court (for breaking the contact order). Bigger son doesn't like going without smaller son for company. The ex never did like smaller son but would kick up a fuss for the sake of it. *sigh*0 -

Hi all ((((((((HUGS))))))))) to anyone needing a hug.
OH HAPPY DAY!
I have been doing part time work for some time. The other day me and my DH had a discussion and he tells me he doesnt actually want me to go out to paid work. After the initial shock I have discovered that I am SO HAPPY about this. I've spent all our married life feeling secretly a bit guilty about not doing more re paid work. Now I have total agreement about being a full time housewife. Its SO LIBERATING. Stress has evaporated, I can look after DH the family and the home KNOWING I AM DOING THE BEST JOB I COULD EVER DO.
YIPPPEEEE Go Me!
Have a great day all and enjoy the sunshine.0 -

Have a great day all and enjoy the sunshine.
And on top of that, one of the most rewarding careers a woman can have. That's not being sexist, whatever work one does is a personal/family choice. Congratulations on your freedom from working to make someone else's money for them! :T0 -
