    hello
    here is 5

1 the sunny weather - sat outside with a cup of coffee this morning.
2 while i had a shower my big boy read stories to my smallest boy. This isn't just a joy it was priceless. I was very happy.
3 last night ( for hours) OH and I put together smallest boys bed he loved it and helped a bit. Today i managed to get all his belongings back in to his satisfaction using spare storage from the garage.
4 OH had jet washed the deck so the boys didn't get green slime on their legs today.
5 boys discovering the line of symmetry and trying the mirror on everything in reach ( hands are not symmetrical :))

    Evening

    Pleasures for today
    1. Cycled to and from work today so no bus fares but a bit of a sore bottom, need to sort out new saddle:p
    2. NSD
    3. Lovely lunch at work with friends. Someone had made a chicken curry today, yummy
    4. Washing from weekend done and line dried
    5. Yummy dinner of chilli wraps. Haven't been shopping yet this week as was away the weekend and wondering if I can stretch freezer and cupboard contents until Saturday.

Hugs to all who need them

A blanket... Nothing too challenging as I am fairly incompetent. I started it about 18 months ago but haven't done anything on it for about a year. I am about half way through it.
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Purple kitten love your #7 - is that what they call a liquid lunch? ;)
I remember you starting the blanket Ladyhawk, and got off to a flying start. I can understand you slowing down as you've been so busy, and it's the sort of thing you can pick up any time.
Having read all the posts which include gardening, I must have it on the brain. I misread VJsmums #5 as - ' including composting a new national anthem (we chose the tune of the Archers)' - which would have been quite appropriate in fact, as it's a farming programme :o

    1. 'Won' a most beautiful satin and beaded picture frame for 99p. Label on the wrapper says £15.99 :)
    2. Postie brought my tax statement, seems my tax is going down quite a bit for the coming financial year
    3. Yummy fry-up for brunch using up odds and ends, then a going-soft banana mashed into Greek yogurt and frozen. Deelish
    4. Taters all planted, still have some left which I'll take to a friend on Wednesday. Her DF has a huge allotment and never turns anything down, he grows it then gives it to people more needy than himself.
    5. Been invited to go on an overnight trip with friends, a stately home, a colliery, a boat trip in caves, a 3* 1/2 board hotel, all incredible value for money. Really looking forward to it, but as it'll be my 4th time away this year I think I'd better stop booking any more trips :o

    Sweet dreams :)

Your trip sounds lovely Sparrer, got room for a few stowaways? :)

VJsmum - aaah the Archers, my DD can contribute a 'national dance' to that theme tune, she used to do silly dancing around the kitchen to it (note to self: put a radio in the new kitchen!)

I forgot one from yesterday (only just yesterday!):

    9. The lovely builder moved the dining table into the kitchen for us and DD set the table and made me a special placemat for our first 'candlelit dinner party' dinner in our new massive kitchen/diner, what a lucky mummykins I was :) Apparently "mummy is funny like a bunny", what a compliment!

    1. Thank you for the welcomes back! How lovely.
    2. More cycling in the sunshine, utter bliss to be out without a jacket again.
    3. A lovely student of mine passed an exam, she has worked so hard (I teach Maths online) and I talked to two other students for the first time, both were really pleasant young people and interesting too.
    4. Just caught Marcus du Sautoy's History of Maths on TV. See above.
    5. Remembered to take my MOCs with me when I went shopping. Shampoo and conditioner that would have been £7.58 last week was £2.29 with a BOGOF and MOC. 2 cleaning sprays for both kitchen and bathroom were £2.49 (£5.98 last week) with BOGOF and MOC.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

1.Another decent day at work we were very busy but having enough staff makes such a difference.
2.Mild temperatures but dry, 1 load of washing dry & hopefully 2 others will be almost dry when I bring them in.....days of drying in half an hour are by for the next few months.
3.DD2 & I went to make a hair appointment....been on my list of things to do for ages!
4.Receiving a gift of napkins for me with DD2's birthday gift from her auntie! A wee surprise!
5.school owes me money! after all the stuff I had to shell out for they owe me $8.00.

Have a lovely Tuesday, hope the sun continues to shine for you!
  • hey everyone, have been catching up with your 5 a day, heres mine for last few days:

    1. Had safe journey up north for Grans funeral - 4 hours drive
    2. Funeral service was really lovely, and was lovely to see family again even though in such sad circumstances
    3. clocks have gone forward so evenings much lighter
    4. Warm & sunny few days
    5. Safe journey home today....But got halfway down M1 and found it was closed due to accident ..Magical mystery tour of Milton Keynes... Got lost at one point, but managed to find way back to M1, but took 6 hours to get home so am feeling shattered. DS should be home from college trip soon and we are having takeaway for tea with money off vouchers, and am going to try and have early night.

    Best wishes to all x

    Good evening all !

Early post as have headache from hell and need my bed !

Ladyhawk- sadly no afternoon snooze when I am at work .

    5 for today

    1. Wore a dress in to work - Primarni tea dress type of thing with little swans on it for a tenner a while back . The guys stared a little too long :rotfl:I have to keep asking my Mum if I have "old lady's" knees yet , if I wear a shortish dress.

2.A battle with a Provider finally swung in my favour at work .

    3. Having just a few bits of scampi for tea .

    4. A woman at work brought in some yellowing watercress for the hens which they devoured in a few seconds. It was nice of her to think of them :)

5.OH out tonight so I can sleep like a baby ..

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
