Hello again after a long absence...
Lots of highlights lately but here's some for today.
    1. Son making some bread dough by hand for me so that I could make pirrukad, Estonian mini 'pasties'with a bacon and onion filling. He loves making bread but both of us are trying to cut down on the bread we eat. Pirrukad are like tiny calzone pizzas, unbelievably economical as they are made with cooking bacon.
2.No tumble drier running for the first weekend in months! Lines of washing drying and smelling so fresh.
    3. Switching off from work for a change - I work from home and normally spend hours online at the weekend. That's why I don't post much - I spend a lot of time sitting typing...
    4. Another NSD. Tidying up I discovered some sachets of moisturiser that I thought I'd used. Using these once in a while will spin out my favourite face cream a bit longer.
    5. 1 hour battery charger that I bought with survey points has arrived - ok this isn't very OS, but stopping buying batteries (other than rechargeables) will be. My cordless mouse and battery powered air freshener (yes I know it's not OS..!) have already gone green.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Have to admit to lurking in the past few weeks but wanted to keep up with everyones days, good or bad, up or down, but thought it about time I posted my 5 or so. Many good things have happened in the past few weeks :)

    1. Won a beautiful, brand new watch with a pretty embroidered strap on ebay for £1.10p
    2. Reverbe'd 20p in the supermarket carpark
    3. Spending days in the garden, rearranging the tubs which gives it more space and looks better. Lovely neighbour mowed my lawn for me :A
    4. DM gave me a bag of seafood which I made into paella, enough for 2 days
    5. Bought my first pairs of trousers with structured waistband (ie zip/button) in about 15 years. No more elasticated waists
    6. Had a good Mothering Sunday with DM, and a wonderful Mothering Monday with DD :D. Out to lunch both days, with vouchers to reduce cost
    7. Drove into Bedford and didn't get lost. That's a first, it really confuses me as a rule
    8. Picked up £13worth of ys goods in Mr M for £2.85. Just happened to get there as the sa was marking down for the final time in the evening
    9. Found the perfect gift for a friend's birthday, still sealed in its box, in the cs for £3. On line they're approx £8.99p
    10. Potatoes chitted nicely and ready to go into their tubs next week
    11. An invitation to the National Ballet in August
    12. Bag of clothes to the cs
Think that's enough to be going on with...

    Sleep well :)

Frith - hope OH gave you a big hug when you got back and said that he was silent so that you could have time to think about whatever it was troubling you xx

Sparrer and McCullough - so glad you're back with us, I've been missing your posts xxx Glad you've been lurking even if not posting, I love this thread, it's now the first one I come to on here :)

Frith - no its not normal to feel unloved and unwanted. However don't read too much into him not texting. Maybe is just wanted you to have some space? Maybe he went back to sleep? Maybe he is just being a bit of a man? In case you didnt realise they think differently to us!

    Morning all :)

Frith sorry to hear you worries continue. I'm sure there's a logical explanation for OH's not texting - perhaps he's just being bloke-ish. As Ladyhawk said they're different to us, and no matter they tease and say women can't be understood I think they turn the tables because they can't even understand themselves at times

Beds is very flat in some parts, isn't it? One advantage is that wherever I'm driving home from, once the Sandy Heath transmitter is in sight I know I'm almost there - mind you it's so flat nearby it can be seen from 30+ miles away in some directions!

Hope everything sorts itself out and your day imrpoves. S

We have had a lovely family day which has been nice, weather has been a bit cooler but I do like wrapping up a bit after months of being too hot:

    1.Phone call with my mum.
2.Sunday scone & hot chocolate....I failed on my lent challenge weeks ago .
3.We went out for afternoon, to some mountain ranges in North Victoria. Had a lovely time, son did some cycling, I climbed far too many steep steps & rocks & will no doubt feel it tomorrow. DS & DD2 are like mountain goats like their dad, DD1 is more like me! Cold at bottom but by the time we got to the top we were warm. We took a picnic. The scenery was amazing & trees continue to change colour. Felt very autumnal.
    4.Snooze on return journey.
5.Made very yummy lasagne for tea, with roast pots (RTC) and salad. 3 portions of lasagne left for freezer. Had rhubarb crumble ( from freezer) for pud.

Enjoy your Sunday, hope you catch up with your lost hour....we don't change for a few weeks.

Not that it's a pleasure as such but we had to pop up to old house to collect some mail.....they are having similar problems that we did there so it's nice to know it wasn't just us! And they have mice ...yikes!

    oooooh! eta post 1000!

Yes SPARRER Beds is very flat even if we are at the end of the Chilterns.

    1) My eldest DB, SIL and gorgeous nephew came to visit

    2) Cooked them HM pizzas which were not bad if I do say so myself. I have frozen 2 extra bases for when I next fancy a pizza. I stupidly burnt the palm of my hand on the oven though which is rather painful.

    3) My DB fixed the stand on my TV

    4) DB installed my waterbutt which be bought for my birthday 6 months ago!

    5) Went for a walk to H0mebase to buy the bits and bobs for my DIY

    6) My flat is clean and tidy... I give it 24 hours before it descends into chaos again

    7) Baking some YS trout for supper

    8) Finally remembered to buy a battery for my kitchen scales. I have been meaning to for weeks now!

    9) Took the label of the daffs I bought yesterday back to MrS as they were 2 days beyond the display by date - got another bunch. My flat is filled daffs now!

    10) having a glass of wine. Its not great and probably would be best turned into something else but it'll do.

    Night

    L

Ps no sunday night blue as I am on hols on Monday and Tuesday!! Yay!
