4. DS had a lovely time at the party that he went to and we brought him home some sticky toffee pud
5. Managed to do a bit of gardening when we got home. Eating the elephant a bite at a time.

Good evening all !
sparrer - you have been missed x x...I was thinking this morning that this weekend has been an "in the garden" weekend and that I wondered if you were in yours ?.. as you know that in Chickenland all is well in the world when Sparrer is in her garden and Ladyhawk has made courgette cake ......
OT - I bet lbh loved being your "rake" in the garden mine do
5 for yesterday
1. OH brought me Finest rtc croissants in bed... which made me promptly ill . It must be the butter as the ones that you roll out don't have this effect on me - or it could be the three mugs of tea....Still the thought was nice...
2.Spent the day in the garden with factor 30 on and pottered on the veg. plot with 7 little feathery helpers ...ooh I sound like Snow White.
3.Postman brought me a free sample of 10 dishwasher tabs :money:courtesy of this site.
4. OH cooked supper
5 . Did 30 mins on the exercise bike whilst watching "Restoration Man" which always gives me fire in my belly ...I thrive on seeing other people battle against the odds and just "go for it" in order to pursue their dreams ....
5 for today
1. Went in to town and used my £25 voucher (for hen sitting) in M&S . OH spent loads on himself whilst I spent £2.50 on an rtc mushroom on croute which I shared with my Mum .
2.Reverbed another 5p for the road kill/horse charity pot.
3. Saw my brother who brought round cream cakes..:D
4. My great nephew who is 3 years old spent the afternoon with one of my hens in my Mums garden , having a fine old time feeding her woodlice, stirring snail shells in a bucket of water and letting her "ride " on his toy quad bike . It was funny ..
5.Being told by OH that the frozen pea packet has an offer for free seeds on it ...I must go and do this now ..
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
CHICKEN - you will be pleased to know that I will be making courgette cake for my nephew's first birthday party next weekendMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0

1. Got a lift to/from church with a newish friend and her hubby and DS who are both very lovely. Their car was very luxurious, like sitting in armchairs, we loved it
2. The sunshine
3. DD looked after me when I was feeling really yuk this afternoon with a nasty cough/cold and my leg hurting horribly. I went to bed and she helped me relax by massaging on feet, hand and face creams and singing to me and putting magic into my hurty leg. What a gorgeous girl. I slept like a log for a couple of hours (wish it made me feel better but I know I needed the rest)
4. The sunshine - DD and I had yummy salad outside in the garden
5. A freegler has offered me a couple of fence panels that a lovely friend is going to take me to pick up in his van tomorrow night. Yippee! I need them for one little bit of my garden that is not very well secured. How lucky is that
6. OH's mum gave us some curtains and took away my bedroom curtains to shorten them. I love the 'new' curtains and will definitely hold on to them for as and when we redecorate either of the bedrooms, it'll be a race as to whether DD or I get them!
7. Sort of a NSD, I've ordered a dress and leggings as I've realised I have a 40th birthday and my cousins' wedding to have an outfit for! The money hasn't come out of my account yet, so it's a sort of NSD in my book, and I'm likely to go to A$da and find a suitable outfit for a third the price of what I've ordered, so am hoping that it'll be a NSD if you get my drift!
8. A friend told me she's pregnant with her third child - I guessed during the week when I saw her walk past with a clingy top on for the first time in agesSo happy for her and her OH.
9. Watching Orbit on BBC2, thank goodness for the Beeb! When they have interesting programmes like this, I don't resent paying the licence fee one bit.....when it's Sn8g, marry, avoid or other tut on the 3 channel, I despair!
10. OH popped over with his mum to do the great curtain swap *swoon* I do adore him
Not looking forward to seeing the consultant tomorrow morning about my leg to get the stiches out and find out how the op went; I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be driving yet as I hurt quite a bit (so haven't and won't until I feel like I could do an emergency stop!!), but hope a couple more weeks of resting is the extent of the bad news, wish me luck!0 -

Thank you everyone for your very warm welcome
Chicken the garden has been my saviour, so am very pleased the weather has been kind to us. I now have growbags in place, set into very posh wicker frames, ready for planting. Everything is beautifully green - except for the tiny lawn which DD's dog kicked up recently. However I can't complain as he did get rid of a heck of a lot of moss!
1. Beautiful drive along the A428 to a village just this side of Cambridge where a dear friend moved to a year ago. Four of us had an amazing day together
2. One friend has grown some runner beans and tomato seeds for me, so they're ready to go into above mentioned growbags
3. Another friend has knitted me a chunky roll-over collar for next winter. I gave her all my wool and needles as the ol' arthritics don't let me knit any more, and it's just what I need to keep my neck warm
4. Our hostess, who is an excellent cook, kindly made a low fat meal which I thoroughly enjoyed
5. We played a new-to-me board game, The Logo Game, which is hilarious, we laughed so much we ached! Don't think it's really meant to be quite that amusing, maybe it was the way we played it
6. Have done all the housework in the lounge this evening, except for the vacuuming which will get done in the morning. One less Monday job to do
Have a good week everyone, hope it's sunny for us all
Sleep tight0
