    Evening all,

Had a shhh it day today and feel very grumpy. When I told my boss last week that I was missing the departmental off site mtg today he said it was up to me if I cancelled my holiday but he thought it important that I be there. So I duly wasted my entire day sitting through a rehash of the conference I attended 2 week ago. Grrrrrrr! Then he cornered me about an audit I had 2 months ago which they finally had the report on. He was a complete !!!! about it and it was so inappropriate to even raise it today without me even seeing the report. And now I am 99% sure he won't allow me to go to Dubai. I know the excuse he will use. - that I'm not senior enough but that's never stopped me before even when I have raised it with him. I have to remind myself that he is only human (and I'll also imagine that he is impotent)

    1) Sunshine
    2) Lunch was provided at the meeting - first BBQ of the year
    3) BBM chat with a school friend back home who is a little stressed
    4) Started waxing my dining room table which I had stripped about 2 years ago. Its coming up beautifully
    5) Finished my book

    Night all.

    L

Ps - Happy belated birthday MHAGS!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Glad you could find some positives in your day Ladyhawk, even though your boss is a numpty extraordinaire!! :(

Right, I must do some tidying up and then go to bed, all this driving and gallivanting around is very tiring!

... biographies of interesting people rather than famous people - I enjoyed Nella Lasts War

That's my favourite book, ever. It got republished as Housewife, 49 when it was made into a series with Victoria Wood. Much as I love Victoria Wood as a performer, I didn't watch it as I had Nella Last fully in my mind and could picture everything from her wonderful descriptive writing.

    1. Paying a big chunk off credit card bill.
    2. Stretching leftovers for another meal.
    3. Son washed up and tidied kitchen for me.
    4. Student who had been passed on to me from a tutor who left (meaning I earned no fees for writing a learning plan for her as this had already been done) passed her exam, after months of on-off study, which means I do earn a completion payment. :j
    5. Other students have been working well.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

    4. Threw a tasty dinner together before went out with the help of the AF order
    5. Back into training and walked 8 miles at a decent pace,m though feet were feeling a bit sore at the end.

    Evening all.

    5) Taking an evening off studying as I'm so far ahead I can justify it. I've spent the evening dead-heading daffodils and tulips, watering plants, and placing an AF order which is the usual combination of stuff I need (loo roll, tinned toms), stuff I don't really need but will be useful (a couple of types of bread mix, tomato puree, cat food (which Fussy Mog may or may not choose to eat - sigh)) and stuff that I really don't need but couldn't pass up (onion crispies at 3 for 99p (great for making onion bread), gooseberry jam (I can't remember the last time I saw anyone selling gooseberry jam), a case of Thai curry paste for 1p ).
    .

Never looked at AF site before. Wow. I foresee a long and fun evening working out an order :D
