Been a quiet day, not been out or seen anyone. Sometimes it's nice to have a day like that so I can get on with all the fiddly little jobs that I never seem get round to.

Frith hope you have a better weekend
Kittikins that's a super weight loss. I lost 9lb too but it's taken me almost 3 months. I empathise with your DF calling his house 'home' to your DD, trouble is we mums can be awfully sensitive, can't we? :)
Chicken thank you. I'm one lb off, might have made it but last weigh-in is next Fri and I go away next Tues. Typical! How lovely it sounds to be sitting out with the chooks keeping you company, I can imagine them all clucking around and vying for your attention :)
CCP good for you on finding 5, it's difficult where you're not feeling up to par but they don't have to be momentous, the little pleasures are equally important. Mind you, your #1 isn't little, that's fantastic :T

    1. Phoned the ex to wish him a happy birthday, he was delighted with the binoculars I bought. He's just moved into a private warden managed flat and has a wonderful view over the gardens, and being a keen bird watcher I thought he'd be happy with that. He was, very much :)

    2. Did all the tops and doors with the tickling stick, and didn't find a single 'thingy'. Not OS but certainly a pleasure/relief!

    3. First of the last of the laundry in, washed, dried, put away. Next lot ready to go on overnight, then just one more load plus the bedding and I'm done. If I find any more it can wait :p

    4. The euro's turned up as promised, what a super service :)

    5. Apparently there's to be a baggage handlers strike at Stansted during Easter weekend. Fortunately we'll beat it as we're going on Tuesday :D.

Have a good weekend everyone, sweet dreams :)

I'm well into Saturday and have been awake since 4am, I have labyrinthitis so my balance is shockingly terrible.....stoating from side to side like a drunkard.

    Fridays pleasures:
1.my usual ....it was Friday ! I had a much better week at work than last although we have been just as busy. And nearly payday again!
2.home and My children were very helpful to their wobbly mum.
    3. Chips for tea, though it took 50 minutes from son going for them to getting them.
4.enjoying my birthday chocolate and not really sharing it....though I do see the bit I had left has gone, so think my husband has helped himself...at his peril!
    5. 2 new books from Amaz*n for my birthday, 'cupcakes from primrose bakery' and ' hummingbird bakery cupcakes and muffins' which is a tiny book. The postage cost almost as much as books did but they cam every quickly, a birthday treat for me.

Today we have to wait in for sofa delivery...grr no time specified which is a pain but as I'm a bit poorly we wouldn't have been going too far anyway.
my lovely dd2 has hoovered, dusted and did her first ever bit of ironing for her dizzy mum! what a star ( comes at a price!)
Sun is shining and washing is on ( as always!)

    Sleep well!

    .
reminds me of a conference i was at in slovakia. Some sessions were in english some in slovakian. I got to one session a bit late and to my horror realised it was in slovak of which i understand nowt. But having got there late too embarassed to leave. A woman arrived even later and gabbled someslovk at me. I had to fess i didnt understand. She must have thought i was truly bonkers sitting in a session i didnt understand the lingo :rotfl:
Posted my 5 on the wrong tread last night so here they are

    1) Last teaching session this morning was brill. The students were presenting their work and they've worked really hard. Will be interested to see what they do with it when they get back home (they're all overseas health professionals)
    2) We then went to a seminar called capture the lecture. Reminded me of I capture the castle
    3) Lovely walk home in the sun. Students had a BBQ outside the union and everyone looked so happy
    4) End of the month tomorrow and I had enough in my GC to buy the Le Cuisine offer in the Radio Times. Had additional joy of finding out postage only charged once (I thought it was £3.95 for each)
    5) Supper already cooked - spicy pork and leek. Yesterday we had it with spuds, today we'll have it with rice. Was able to put the whole pot into the fridge cos my fridge is sorted

    Morning everyone,

    1). Had the day off
    2) Popped into town but parked in a residential street so didn't have to pay for parking and got a bit of exercise.
    3) Went to a CS and bought a new make mirror and some books
    4) Got a new cake box from Wilkos - I have been searching for a good but inexpensive one for ages! But then I fell off the rails and spent far more than I meant to! But it was all stuff that I needed
    5) Went back to Homeb@se to pick up some seeds that I had forgotten yesterday evening (I had paid for them but there was a kerfuffle about them over charging me and when they were sorting that out I complete forgot that I hadn't actually picked them up!)
    6) Went into London and saw a lovely university friend for tea
    7) Met up with 2 work friends for a few drinks and to see Sarah Millican live which was quite funny.

Hope you all have a lovely day
    L

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Hello, Saturday pleasures:

1.Long chats with 1 set of in-laws, 2 friends & 1 sister! The new time difference makes it a bit trickier but I was awake early anyway.

3.Sofas came about 1pm. Look lovely.
4.Late lunch with my husband, shopping was a lot more thean I have been recently, more like what I used to be but I did buy a garden spade, fork new gloves & some gorgeous mini ramekins!
5.Glorious day, been very windy but sun has been shining all day.
    6.Went to Salvo's & got nice top for $2.00
7.Got my candles on & feeling very cosy!

    Evening all.

I'm feeling a bit cheerfuller today, despite the grey weather - such a shame when it's been lovely all week while I've been stuck in the office. :(

    1) Mog's appetite returned at 5am, not 3am, which is marginally more bearable.

    2) NPD, which it had to be as every petrol station within easy reach has now sold out of petrol.

    3) Made a fruit flapjack to use up some over-ripe fruit and stale muesli.

    4) Made a very OS chilli con carne, bulked out with AF soya mince and cheapy kidney beans so 200g of mince will make 4 portions of chilli. :money:

    5) Sipping at a glass of cider won at a pub quiz a few weeks ago.

mhags - I hope you're feeling less wobbly by now. I hate that feeling that the world won't stay still. :(

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    1. NSD - phew! Just need about 30 of those in April and I'll be fine....

    2. NPD

    3. Was driven to London for a fab day with church chums

    4. One of my friends has offered to help with my gardening, what a lovely chap :) and if we're lucky, he'll bring his lovely dogs over for DD to play with

    5. Lovely chat with DD on the phone, she was in the middle of a tense scrabble game so I didn't stop too long!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend?

I am feeling better for having stuck to a food plan it feels like I may be shifting some lb’s, I haven’t checked thou just in case I’m not.:o

    1. Taking it easy rather than out possibly spending, but being active and properly cleaned and mopped all of downstairs, I’m hopefully running out of things to “spring clean”!:p
    2. Put a proper coat of wood polish on the furniture to soak in, a pleasure to do it for once
    3. A few loads of washing done and animal washing done.
    4. Wrap things for dinner, I love Mexican food, not sure if it loves me thou, but home made can be made to suit.
    5. I don’t like the maxi dress, so it’s being sent back Monday, I am going to use the money to help to spoil DH on his birthday.
    6. Just settled in to watch a movie.:)
