    Evening all.

Ladyhawk - I'm so sorry to hear about your cat - I really hope the v*e*t manages to come up with a brainwave soon.

Skint - I hope you and your DS have sorted things out by now.

    1) Another nice lie-in this morning (although not quite as long as yesterday's :o), listening to the rain on the windows - always nice when you don't have to go out in it.

    2) Mog's gone back into lap-warmer mode - who needs a furry / fleecy blanket when you've got a cat?

    3) The first of the seeds I planted last weekend has germinated - I'm hopelessly impatient and now want the rest of them to get on with it, too.

    4) Got some cider on SO this afternoon, so I'm enjoying a glass with the rugby.

    5) I'm really looking forward to my takeaway pizza tonight - I know it's naughty and very un-OS, but takeaway pizza tastes so good. :o:o

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Hope things OK with your son skint. Hugs to all

    1) Saturday started with breakfast in bed (ta OH) followed by lovely long soak in bubbly bath :D
    2) All washing dried outside :T
    3) was worried one of cats who I had let outside during the day (they say the rescue centre was talking rubbish when it said they were indoor cats, and we have had them inoculated, but I'm still a wee bit nervous letting them out) hadn't come in. OH found her fast asleep on bed upstairs :rotfl:
    4) MC bill arrived - sooooo much less than they were last year
    5) Audit of freezer has revealed all sorts of goodies for me to munch my way through for lunches. Also resulted in not going to SM so another NSD :A

    Evening all,

Hope you all have had a good day.

    1) Quick nap this afternoon

    2) Went into London to meet an Irish friend for a couple of drinks and to watch the rugby. I used a voucher that I got back for a delayed train journey a few weeks ago.

    3) Was well behaved and only had 3 drinks and left at 8.30pm. i am not really in the mood for socialisation

    4) My dear friend G left me a lovely message re Kitty on my phone.

    5) Lent my phone to a man to phone home as his phone was dead. He tried to offer me some money for it but it was nice to be able to do a favour for a stranger.

    Sleep tight

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Ladyhawk - gentle hugs and rubs behind the ear for your kitty, sending healing thoughts your way x

Skinty - I'm dreading the teenage years, so glad your DS stopped being stroppy!

hakeber - phew! I'm tired just reading your posts, 2 parties and all that shopping?!? Well done you :)

    Saturday's delights:

    1. NSD

    2. OH here :)

    3. My lovely friend cut down a bush in the front garden that was too big and too prickly to be beautiful - in the rain!

    4. One of my lovely neighbours lent me his loppers to help the friend with her duties :)

    5. Met his wife and had a tour of their house - and the one next to theirs when I went to drop back the loppers. They gave me great ideas which might change my mind a bit for Monday when the builder comes.....exciting stuff :)

    6. The rain - I know I've been so happy with the sun, but I hope the ground is enjoying the rain

    7. Great long chats with my parents about house renovation stuff

    8. We all watched a bit of the rugby

    9. DD was very tired and a teensy bit under the weather after all the excitement of the build-up and the actual birthday, so she spent the day in her PJs, reading, watching films, cuddling me, eating left over birthday cake etc etc. I think more of the same might be in order for tomorrow!

    10. I started reading one of DD's books she was given for her birthday, Little House on the Prairie, fabulous stuff :)

    Ladyhawk, so sorry about Kitty.
Skint - oh dear, you do have a lot on your plate. DS turned 13 today so I am buckling up for a bumpy ride! He has been an angel so far - my friend reckons we deserve some difficulties :p

Kittikins - sounds like a fab day

For yesterday - had a lovely day, may turn out to be more than 5!

    1. DD and DS went to our local theme park for the day. We bought them a seasonal pass for christmas and yesterday was the first day they could use it. Which meant we were childless for the day so we practised at being retired.
    2. We took a drive to Knowle and had morning coffee and a mooch. Coffee shop was fabulous and we only wished we could have indulged in the baked goods from the artisan bakery there. If the weather had been warmer we would have bought picnic stuff - never mind, we'll do that another day.
    3. Ended up in Leamington where we had lunch in another fabulous cafe.
    4. During our mooch there I found a chicken shaped pastry cutter which I am going to send to OH's cousin as she has been looking for one for ages. She will :rotfl: when she sees it.
    5. WEnt to the art gallery which was lovely. I was looking at a picture when the people next to me were commenting about another one thus
"You don't often see St Ives painted like that"
"No - that's because it doesn't LOOK like that" :rotfl:
    6. Bought DS another birthday pressie. Have been a bit stumped but OH remembered something he said he'd wanted the day before. Feel happier with his stash now.
    7. Had a mooch round the charity shops. Saw a handbag by Laura Ashley for a fiver that I wish I'd bought now.
    8. Afternoon tea at the National Trust tea room at Baddesley Clinton (see I said we were rehearsing for retirement)
    9. Kids had an adventure getting home from the theme park on the bus. DS's friend who was with them had never been on a service bus before () DS said "Oh Harry just sits in the back of his car throwing pounds out of the window" which had us :rotfl: (Harry is rather well off)
10 Went out for a meal for DS birthday as he has gone to the football all day today so we won't be able to. Yummy italian.

Wow 10!!! Most of them about food! :rotfl:

Off out with MIL, SIL, DD, niece and nephew today. Best get cracking. Have a good day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
