5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

I admit, reading about LH's cider made me chuckle too, at memories of K, White Lightening and other 'choice beverages' flashed through my mind!
Thanks for lovely well wishes, I do wish I could say I learned my lesson the other day, but alas and alack I didn't and of course did far too much yesterday and then paid for it last night, but it didn't matter too much because.....
1. OH is hereI told him I thought he'd been avoiding me becuase I'm ill and we had a chat about his fear of people he loves being ill (due to a previous very sad experience), so hopefully he won't give me that impression again!
2. NPD but certainly not a NSD.....
3. Treated myself to my first ever eye-tunes card for my eyepod with 10% off naturally (!!) , now if I could get DD to find it, I might download an album to surprise her for her b'day!
4. Bought the 99p rubbish cake magazine that came with a cardboard cake stand and butterfly cutters, so that I can display the goodies appropriately on Friday for DD's birthday eventAfter all, a girl only turns 7 once you know, she's sooooooo excited!
5. Made a scrumptious mushroomy rice dish for dinner using one of my mum's 'soup bases' as a starter, nomnomnom.
6. Texts with a chum, who now only lives about 10 houses away about her coming over for a cuppa- she has MS and problems walking, and I'd done far too much walking yesterday already, so texting was best for us!
7. I sat out and ate my lunch of scrumptious leftovers in the glorious sunshine whilst reading a home decorating magazine a friend gave me, bliss!
8. Quote from a builder is in to do some necessary to me works inside - parents and I agree its fab, so have asked when he can start. Yippee!!
9. Did some research onto non-slippery floor coverings for my soon to be new kitchen and bathroom, I now know a lot about HSE risk factors, probably more than I would care to, but have found some tiles I like the look of. May have to invest in a sample tile.
10. Came back from dropping DD to a friend's for the school run to find a big blue box on the doorstep - it was a welcome to your new home present from my mortgage company! Yummy biccies, chocs, tea, coffee, wine and a handy little tool kit and picture hooks, what a lovely surprise
I wonder what joys today will bring.......have had the first already; waking up to see OH sleeping soundly beside me (thank goodness he doesn't snore!), and knowing that I'll have a lovely hug soon!0 -
Morning
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Free lunch at work as left overs from an exec meeting
2. This one is a bit mean but getting one over on a collegue who can be a bit full of himself and has one rule for him and one for everyone else. I pointed out an example of this which he was not to impressed at.:D
3. Lovely evening out with the girls all done with vouchers. Pizza express with a bottle of processco to share and the cinema and only cost £14.50 each:money:. Went to see Lady in Black, OMG is soooo scary.
4. OH and DD had cooked dinner together and not resorted to a takeaway plus left some for me to have for lunch today.
5. Lovely nights sleep
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Wow, I have been absolutely zonked for the last couple of days. And I have a hideous coldsore on my lip - a little rundown methinks.
Anyway
for Tuesday
1. The abundance of blossom on the trees
2.Some good whoopsies in Mr M
3. Went out for a curry with OH and there was some left for the freezer
4. Good teaching session
5. DS went skiing for free at our local "place" and enjoyed it. It helps as his friend's parents are the owners, but I still feel we should be giving something for it, but they won't take anything. Maybe we'll buy them a decent bottle of wine as a thank you.
And yesterday
1. Enjoyed my day at work - no stress
2. House is clean and tidy for once
3. Had a massage at work - someone arranged for a lady to come in and "do" us. It was lovely - but boy, was I sore after!
4. Yummy slow cooker goulash for tea - minimum effort, maximum taste. I have learned that for this sort of thing less time is better
5. Did the ironing - not exactly a pleasure but it has been hanging over me, so at least it's done.
Have a good day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
oooooh! we're having a storm right now, glad I'm inside!
1. Another busy day at busy ville! However, was out that door at bang on home time!
2.Nice chat with DD1, shared a tuna sandwich & recounting of our day!
3.Not so nice chat with DD2, she's having a horrid time with some girls in her new class at new school. We both shared some tears
However the pleasure I suppose is she can talk to me & hopefully together we can work it out.
4.Out for dinner, had very yummy pizza.
5.In before the storm really started.......it is absolutely lashing with rain.
Have a good day x0 -
Hugs to your DD Mhagster, hope the nasty girls chill out and back off asap x0

DundeeDoll - that's great news about your biopsy. :j (Sorry for the delayed response as I wasn't on the forum yesterday.)
Mine for today:
1) A nice long lie-in this morning.
2) Listening to the coastal fog horn blaring away for most of the day.
3) Received the refund for my faulty chair, just as I was about to email Amaz0n to ask where it had got to.
4) Beef stew for dinner, from one I made and froze in portions a few weeks ago.
5) Not very OS of me, but I decided I was fed up with being so cold even wearing my warmest jumper and switched the CH back on for a bit. It's nice to be warm.
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -

Good evening all!
Dundee Doll - thanks for the "hug" yesterday
Ladyhawk -You kill me :rotfl:.... I have visions of you with a butler leaning forward with a silver tray offering you blinis, caviar not lump fish ...no Sireeee and a can of cider:rotfl:with a swizzle stick :rotfl:.Btw you are very perceptive .. in real life my role covers an element of H&S
Kittikins - re the flooring. I have rubber (oohh err misses) tiles in my bathroom which looks like flat lego . It was pricey as it is used commercially in sports centres and bizarrely in the lift at work, which makes me smile each time I use it :rotfl:I can't afford to slip and it feels nice (on my foot that has feeling) and safe .
Oldtractor:j:j welcome back !
mhagster - ((hugs)) to your DD
5 for today
1. So busy at work the day flew by.
2.Went to hospital for my x ray arrived early, got a parking space straight away , was called in first and got home 20 mins before my actual appointment was due
3.Received a gift card in the post from my friend for looking after her hens for two weeks whilst she was away . She knew I wouldn't accept anything for doing this so she sneakily posted it- from the hens .
4. So pleased with the posh plunger episode yesterday - dishwasher is now draining.
5. Day off tomorrow

SKINT - sorry to hear about your granny, hugs to you and your family xx
SKINT/CHICKEN - I have found some floor tiles that have a R12 rating (not ooer missus at all) but apparently the highest non-slip rating is R13 so I'm going to get a sample tile and see how it feels underfoot before I commit to buying anything.0 -
Skint - sorry for your loss
For today
1. Drive to work so can leave later
2. Lunch with colleagues and a catch up with the gossip
3. Reading up on my legal cases and really enjoying adding to my knowledge and being able to pass it on to students
