Awwhhhh - oldtractor lovely to hear about little lbh.

    6 for today

    1. Woke up early so let the hens out earlier than usual and sat out in the garden with a mug of tea at 5.45 am . I love it when the twittering starts and I am the only one up and about.

2.Was just about to get in my car and do a few bits in the village and my sister was passing so I went in to town with her and my Mum instead. So a NPD

3.Watching some of the racing at Cheltenham on CH 4. Glad that Ruby Walsh looked after Kauto Star and pulled the old horse up as soon as he noticed that the horse was not quite right.

4.Made a prawn curry for my Mum for tea.

    5. Banked some change in order to "recycle" it towards my first Chinese take away this year as a treat for my Mum and I tomorrow.

    6. Getting all of the laundry in the basket ( a weeks worth of my stuff) washed and dried. So much less to do when I am on my own !

Have a lovely weekend all !

Very pleasant day here, coolish breeze but sun has been shining & drying loads of washing.....if only it would iron it too.....this working full time hours lark & keeping up to date with everything can be a pain!

1.Lie in....did not wake up until 8am which is very late for me!
2.Lovely phone calls with my niece & my friend.
3.Saturday lemon meringue pie! Very yummy but too much!
    4.Shopping coming under budget again.
5.Bought curtains for lounge at Salvos, they fit rather perfectly and were alot cheaper than buying new. I rather regret cutting my big curtains from old house in half :( as they didn't sit right as it's a different kind of curtain track. However, if we ever sell our house in Scotland & buy somewhere here I can have them up there!
6.Walked to library....because I can....and got a pile of trashy magazines to flick through ! Got a bag of toffees at DD1's shop & I'm chewing my way through them!

    Have a lovely weekend!

Kittikins - in my experience 7 year olds prefer tat to anything else :rotfl:

    For yesterday

    1. Got DS pressies for his birthday sorted - he is 13 so we are preparing for some years of difficulty :rotfl: My friend says we deserve to have some as he has been an angel up till now!
    2. Went out for lunch in a new fabby deli come cafe. Couldn't eat all my panini and was stuffed for the rest of the day.
    3. Shopping came in within budget and I got 4 chicken kievs for a pound YS
    4. Unfortunately forgot that garlicky chicken isn't a good idea if you are then going out :D DD is going to a different school for her 6th form and it was their school production last night. THe standard was fantastic, their specialism is performing arts which is why she wants to go there. Unfortunately it has made me realise that her singing voice isn't up to their standard (although she can sing). I think this means singing lesssons. It might make her realise how difficult that industry is, however, and that she might have to rethink her future. I think she'd make a fantastic director or playwrite and so hopefully they will bring that side of her out. Exciting times!
5.OH took kids mothers day shopping. I thought they'd forgotten with it being DS birthday as well.

Both kids are out for the day at the local theme park. THey got seasonal passes for christmas and today is the first day! OH and I might get to go out for lunch :T
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Aaah, but 7 year olds don't like obviously second-hand tat that's more suited to a 3 year old :( Ho hum......I don't know why he wasted money on postage, probably spent more on that than the "presents"! Anyway, there was a bit of folding stuff in the birthday card that was much more gratefully received!

OH and my friend are here and if DD has her way, we're going to snuggle down under duvets and watch The Smurfs :)
  • Grey miserable day here today, and its raining. Matches my mood :(

Had a big arguement with son (16yo) last night about grandmas funeral. He has a college trip on mon 26th-tue 27th so will not be able to come, which is fine, but he is refusing to go and stay with his dad for the weekend so I can travel up north on the saturday. He says its awful at his dads, dirty and smelly and he thinks he should be able to stay home on his own or does not think anything wrong with me having to stay here and then pelt up M1 on the monday morning hoping to get to funeral on time.
Ended up telling him he was selfish and had no compassion, and I was going and not coming back, then he would have to live with his dad !! He stormed off to his room, didnt come down for dinner and we havent spoken since. Don't think I will be getting anything for mothers day. Especially as I have to give him the money to go and get something.

Sorry, just needed to vent. Hopefully will have some pleasures later

    Morning,

I didn't post last night as I had rather a lot of wine!

    1) Little lie in so got the 9.30 train into London

    2) Lovely bowl of soup for lunch with a lovely colleague who I rarely get to see these days despite us working in similar roles

    3) Quick chat on my phone with my middle brother

    4) Fun drinks with some colleagues last night. I was a bit nervous because "THE" colleague who I fancy was there. Hence I drank the wine far too quickly and I decided to leave before I disgraced myself!

    5) Got loads of work done in the office but am still snowed under

I had to take Kitty to the vet this morning and they are running out things to do for him. They did suggest I take him to a specialist but that could cost thousands. So I think that I may have to put to sleep in the next few weeks. :(

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
