Evening
PK - Fingers crossed for the interview tomorrow
Pleasures for today,
1. Managing to throw together a packed lunch for OH even though I haven't done any shopping
2. Our lovely Monday Lunch club at work. We all bring something in and have a lovely and inexpensive lunch. Today's delights were French Onion Soup followed by Lemon Tart with raspberries and strawberries. All very yummy and the company even better.
3. Chat with parents on phone tonight and them saying how nice it was to have seen us at the weekend. Dad said it had given mum a real lift so all good.
4. Reading with DD tonight, nice to have some quiet time together and seeing her get pleasure out of a book.
5. Survey done for £3 luncheon voucher today and also managed to cash in on another survey site for a £25 amazon voucher:money:
Need to get myself off to bed soon as have an early start tomorrow to get to Coventry. The good thing is work have paid for 1st class travel on the train so I get breakfast on the train and get to raid the drinks and snacks in the 1st class lounge:D
Hugs to all who need them0 -

1.Busy day at work....was a kindly shoulder for a much younger colleague to cry on today (literally!)
2.Left on time, nice drive home and no rush hour traffic.
3.Went to opticians & DD2 got her specs fixed for free.
4.Bought some Christmas & next year birthday gifts for 2 of my friends from home's girls. Will bring them home in 40 weeks!
5.Made a chilli for tea, and choc chip cookies.
6.Going out a-visiting tonight & will take my cookies with me.
7.Getting a beautiful photo emailed to me: my nephew, showing his niece(my great niece) daffodils in the garden.....with my cat in the background(sitting hopefully under the bird table).....made me so happy to see lots of favourite things in one photo!
Ladyhawk: our library emails you when your books are due back which is great....I used to be dreadful at remembering to take them back.
Have a lovely day!
I'm going to add on a few more:
went to visit a friend who is moving away, unfortunately her son was poorly so we didn't stay long, but she gave me a lovely bunch of flowers & some yummy chocolates, so then went back to other friends house for an hour , saw lots of kookaburras and had a pleasant evening & came home with butter beans (like green beans but yellow.....freshly picked from their garden!0 -
5 for today (Tuesday) so far!
1) Smaller son balking at going to school but got him there in the end.
2) New rope for the woodburning stove door arrived from EBay (so it shuts firmly and doesn't let air in). Will fix it at the weekend.
3) Texts from OH. :-)
4) Went to Hereford as my clothes are falling apart. (Really. I can never summon up any enthusiasm for clothes so wear them until they are see-through/rip beyond repair). Anyway, I don't enjoy it and often come home again with nothing! So I was very good today and did all charity shops and other "proper" shops and came home with 3 tops! When I tried a top on in M and S, I noticed it had a little dirty mark on the hem at the back so I got 15% off!
4) Took in the boys' World Book Day vouchers. An interesting looking book for bigger son and a new Where's Wally? for smaller son.
5) Had lunch in my favourite cafe.
6) Popped to health food shop for bits including cardamon as smaller son wants to make this later: http://showmethecurry.com/desserts/nan-khatai-eggless-cookies.html
7) Popped into Ludlow on the way home (good charity shops) and found another top!
8) Looking forward to Holby City.
and 1 from yesterday which amused me... Smaller son was talking about his teacher (they don't always see eye to eye) and said "Mummy, does she have a Bummy accent?" :-)0 -
Wow sleep what’s that then, so not a pleasure, but at least I can make it up tomorrow.
1. The travel to the interview wasn’t bad, and the interview went well, but won’t know for a few days so still applying for everything.
2. Getting stuck into my book on the train and just about realising when the train pulled in back home.
3. Home to a cuppa and seafood salad
4. Cobbling together some low fat sausages and low fat oven chips
5. A kip0 -
Good evening all !
Frith - :rotfl:at your son and the Bummy accent. I must ask did he mean "Brummy" or "plummy" ?
Ladyhawk - its amazing how we all list so many more pleasures when we have a day of work leave .
hakeber - what is all the fabric for . I am intrigued ???
4 for today
1. Work insane - so many high level issues flooding in, one of which has prompted me to make an unannounced site visit tomorrow morning  Who knows how the day will roll then..
2. My colleague/second cousin loved her orchid and she had baked some treats for the whole of the unit as it was her birthday. She is a great cook and we joke about setting up a tea room together ,but she talks so much that the customers would never leave and we would never make any profit :rotfl:
3. My Mum made supper and it was really NOT very nice . I took it home boiled it and boiled it and added LOTS of other ingredients to make it palatable. Bless her she is like Ria in the '70's series Butterflies.
4. Enjoying time on my own and a tidy house .
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all.
Here's mine for yesterday (as I decided to have a computer-less evening :A) and today:
Yesterday:
1) Spent the day at a training course - it wasn't terribly exciting but included a free lunch that wasn't bad at all. (The downside was that the course was held in a basement room, so we couldn't enjoy the nice sunshine.)
2) As the lunch break was only half an hour I got to leave work a bit early.
3) Admiring the daffodils which are starting to open everywhere.
4) Made baked leeks for dinner, and cooked them in a dish I inherited from my grandmother, who inherited it from her mother. Every time I use the dish I wonder how many meals it's had in it over the past hundred years or so.
5) Listening to the fog horn while falling asleep - I love the 'seaside-y' noise it makes.
Today:
1) HM quiche for lunch.
2) Received the seeds I ordered over the weekend, which is impressively quick.
3) Received a flyer through my door advertising a new takeaway pizza place which is doing some really good introductory offers - I might treat myself next weekend.
4) Reading the flyer left me fancying pizza, and I was really pleased to find a couple of slices lurking in the bottom of the freezer which will do the trick nicely.
5) No work for the rest of the week. :j
I won't be posting tomorrow as I'm out for the day with my DM - in true OS / MSE style she's found a voucher we can use for our evening meal. :money:
Purple kitten - I'm glad the interview went well - I've got my fingers crossed for you.
Kittikins - I hope you've been resting today.
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all,
I'm on the train to Manchester... Not a pleasure as it is full sice it is the first off peak one of the evening and I have 2 annoying women behind me who WON'T SHUT UP! Its a bit of a theme today as I was at an ethical trading conference today and there was an annoying woman behind me tapping her way on her computer all through a fsscinating panel discussion on bribery and corruption.
1) Two cans of cider for supper care of my expense account
2) Got my emails down by 100 this evening
3) Nsd
4) Yummy lunch provided at the conference even if it was wildly out of season
5) Funny text and bbm conversations with various colleagues
Night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Hello - yup CCP, I've been resting more today *whistles innocently*
1. Spent most of the morning in bed feeling grumpy, tired and sore, then woke up feeling a bit chirpier
2. NSD - woo hoo! To go with my will be 21 no petrol days this month! (enforced no driving)
3. A huge delivery of a gazillion pairs of shoes I ordered online arrived and they will all be going back as thanks to my operation, not one of them fit properly, so I'll be saving lots of money once the refund hits my card!
4. Received a cheque for my overpaid mortgage, phew, now I'll be able to pay the new one!!
5. Lovely cuddles with DD on the sofa whilst watching her new favourite DVD, Captain Pugwush
6. Friends did the school run and took DD to Rainbows for me
7. A lovely man let me cross the road in front of him this morning, I must have gone for the sympathy vote with my crutches
8. After all my resting, I did a teensy bit of pulling dead things up from the garden, but not too much so I'm not too sore now, woohoo!
oooh and another one:
9. DD wouldn't go to sleep properly so I've let her snuggle into my bed, where she fell promptly asleep. Yay, cuddles and a hot water bottle effect for me when I slope off to join her in a bit0 -
1) biopsy clear :T
2) lish celebratory lunch with OH
3) one of my students got distinction for masters dissertation :T
