    Evening,

    Day off work today, hurrah.

    1) I had a nice evening last night and today... Though my friends have some really odd ideas on child rearing so I had to keep my lip buttoned the entire time.

    2) The train back was very smooth except I turned up at the station an hour before the train... Doh!

    3) Reading one of the latest Lee Child book.

    4) Reverbed 1p

    5) Won 10 quid on the lottery... Yay!

    6) Making a savoury veggie loaf for supper - though I am not hungry so I will have to leave it for tomorrow

    7) Got some good bargains from Mr S.

    8) Lovely nap on the train home.

    Night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
  • hey everyone, my 5 for yesterday

    1. Lovely sunny day, nice cool breeze so managed to walk to shops

    2. Spent 3 hours wandering round & managed to get 5 tops in sales from various shops/charity shops using some of the cash I got from selling my gold bracelet

    3. Had a snooze in the afternoon :o

    4. Enjoyed a film recorded on tivo box

    5. Early night and slept well

    For today:

    1. Bacon sarnie for breakfast
    2. Leftover spag bol for lunch
    3. Last call of the day at work today from suicidal lady who had lost her partner a few years ago, had a breakdown and was worried sick about her situation. Thankfully was able to sort some things out to help her and allay her fears about her situation. Work is very draining, often with angry, upset or abusive people but it can be very rewarding when we are actually able to help people.
    4. Chinese takeaway for tea ...godhelp me when the credit card bill comes :o
    5. Its Fridayyyy !!!!! No more work till tuesday :j
    0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
House sale OCT 2022 = NOW MORTGAGE FREE 🤗
House purchase completed FEB 2023 🥳🍾 Left work. 🤗

Retired at 55 & now living off the equity £10k a year (until pensions start at 60 & 67).

kittikins glad everything went well, I hope your recovery is quick & you can enjoy your new home. Take care x

    Saturday pleasures:

1.Up too early(come on, it's my day off!) but used the time to catch up with folk back home. Was talking with my good friend when she got some difficult news but we talked it through & I got a thankyou message later from her...glad to be of help thousands of miles away!
2.Went with husband as he had another dental appt, sat in car reading funny book. Then we went to Ikea, but I bought 2 things and spent less than $6.00
3.Loads of washing dried! It was rainy first thing so was rather concerned about my mountain of clothes but it brightened up after lunch.
4.Saturday lasagne shared with my husband!
5.Shopping costing about 1/3 less than usual.
    6.Went to Salvos & DD2 got 2 dresses & a top. One dress was brand new & rather gorgeous...if only I was a size 8!

Have a lovely day whatever you get up to, it's a Holiday weekend here for Labour day on Monday (I am working though :() so lots on in the city.We might get up to something tomorrow, if kids are all well enough.

Not posted on here for a while. Sorry... :( However, my 5 for today are:

    1) Bought a painting using a small inheritance from an old family friend. I can look at it and remember good times.

    2) Done some recycling of magazines. Need to trawl through more for recipes and then get rid of them or pass on to friends.

    3) Got yellow sticker chicken out of the freezer in order to make stir fry tonight.

    4) Cleaned the house (not necessarily a pleasure, but it's nicer when the house is clean at least!).

    5) Trying to decide where to go using my Avios points!

    Evening all.

    1) A lovely warm, sunny afternoon.

    2) NSD and NPD.

    3) Spent an hour or so doing some much needed tidying up in the garden.

    4) Ordered myself some more antihistamine tablets online: I have to take one every day, and they're so much cheaper bought this way, even taking into account the delivery charge.

    5) HM pizza tonight - I'm eating them a lot at the moment as I'm determined to crack the problem of the base welding itself to the baking tray. (And I like pizza. ;))

Have a good evening, all, and good luck for anyone playing at planet spotting.
Back after a very long break!

Quick 5 before I go make supper
    1) Lovely bubbly bath from pack I won some time ago in a raffle and had got forgotten in the presents cupboard
    2) Mouse first seen as just tail hanging from cat's closed mouth seems to have survived ordeal - OH captured mouse and put it out in garden
    3) Asked if I wanted a manicure while waiting for hair dye to dye in hairdressers. Instant reaction no but then remembered I was going to 80s disco tonight - very relaxing and now sporting glittery nails all for an extra fiver
    4) We seem to have a glut of wine bags from Mr T. Cut out separators in 2 - these make excellent bags for 2 jugs of milk.
    5) Irn Bru (DS's fave) on special at Lidl 24 cans for a fiver. Have put 7 in cupboard and rest in above mentioned Mr T wine bag. I have hidden them ssshhh not saying where.
On a slightly less OS wasn't able to renew library book online as someone has requested it. I've now finished it so it will go back Monday along with 20p. However, I was downloading eBooks last year at probs £4 on average each so I have a lot of fines to go to even equal one eBook :D
