hello, all glammed up, with a dress on, make up & my lovely boots (I do love 'em!)
Well, last night did not go as planned, my poorly boy woke me to say he was unwell, he has been off colour all week and was rather unwell throughout the night and I was up with him each time. He is so rarely ill & it's not nice to see.
1.Work.....not sure if pleasure is the right word, we are so busy, however it's another days wages earned and I like the social aspect of it. I now know so many people ,not on any deeply personal level but it perhaps fills the gap of leaving so many familiar people & things back home. They are now my familiar people & experiences.
2.Getting an appointment to see a GP with my son, after work. Not having to pay as he is still 16.
3.A pleasant day, a little nip of autumn in the morning & evening but stayed dry.
4.DD1's friend coming home after rehearsals with DD2 as we were going to a 1st year barbeque at school, friend is a very nice girl and we met all the family tonight including her gorgeous 7 month old brother! Adorable!
5.Got all dressed up , well threw on a dress & a pair of tights which have been falling down all evening & my lovely boots, did my hair, put on some make up & looked half decent for a change! I live in cropped jeans most of time! Had a nice evening, had some lovely salad made by 6th year pupils ,who did all the catering as part of their course, had a chat with some teachers & generally a pleasant evening.
Have a lovely day, nearly Friday here!0 -
Evening all from a sunny Newcastle. What a beautiful evening it is up here!
I've heard back from Sparrer and she is well so we can all stop worrying.
1) Was at a conference today which I (in a very small way) helped organise. It was a brilliant day with loads of good feedback.
2) Going to stay with some friends tonight who I haven't seen in an age so am looking forward to seeing them
3) Almost NSD but bought a bottle of wine to take with me for dinner. Oh and a couple of loveely quartz bracelets from a charity... And 5 raffle tickets... So actually it wasn't even a LSD!
4) Got the train up to Newcastle at the crack of dawn with my ex-line manager (I was promoted to the same level as her) and we had a really nice journey together.
5) Seeing some of my lovely colleagues from around the UK and ireland. It was good to catch up with them.
Have a great evening
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Good evening all
millie - ((hugs)) re the counselling xx tough stuff .
Posting a quick 5 as I am going out for a curry with OH - love tastecard (thanks sparrer).
1. OK day at work, I will be receiving some nice feedback from one of my providers following a 2 day audit I carried out . I will of course inform my manager about this .As managers in my team only EVER focus on the negative stuff and don't acknowledge anything positive the team have achieved . This is sooo unhealthy and actually pretty stagnating !
2. Had a nice chat and a cup of tea with my aunt who was visiting my Mum.
3.Beautiful day here ! OH put 2 loads of washing out which has dried , ready for packing for his holiday
4. Day off tomorrow as I don't do Fridays
5. Going out soon to one of my favourite restaurants - 50% off of food with tastecard
Have a great evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Back from my conference and in bed already!
1) meeting up with new friend for breakfast. My dundee colleagues weren't staying th night so nice to have breakfast with someone
2) no more fire alarms (though nearby hotel where some delegates were staying had on this morning!)
3) snaffled a banana at lunch time for train journey home :T
4) shared taxi with senior bod from dundee. Had good chat, let him pick up the bill (so was a bit OS for our research budget). At haymarket he got a bit er and ummy. He then said hmmm looks like the train's goingto be full so i'd best go sit in my 1st class seat. Wouldnt be fair to take up a 2nd class seat' i told him not to be so daft, of course he should use his 1st class ticket. Thought it really sweet he'd been worrying. I got to read my book :j
5) still some of tuesday' bean stew left so we had that with rice
And now i'm in bed with a glass of wine and my book to finish. Just realised this has been a total NSD :AMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1. Sold a spare ferret cage we’d advertised within an hour of advertising it, which is money for our vet fund. We are also running a stall at an event we that we are running at the weekend, it’s hard work trying to add to the vet fund, but we have bought a few things from an animal wholesaler we hope to sell on but even if we sell out it only makes a very tiny amount of profit but that’s a little more than we had before .
2. I know it sounds daft as it’s a while away, but I’m really looking forward to a few days away during April, we’re doing it as cheaply as possible we are camping only 20miles away but for a fiver a night in the caravan in a place with lovely walks on a canal and close to the coast, our treat to ourselves will be seaside fish and chips, a pleasure looking forward to it.
3. Needed to pop into a local town as OHs glasses just weren’t quite right and picked up some charity shop goodies.
4. Did a proper clean through of the washing machine, cleaned out the microwave and cleaned the oven, a pleasure that it’s clean again.
5. Sorry it’s not in any particular order, but for the first time in weeks went to bed early and slept / passed out, didn’t wake up until late and the bug feels fingers crossed like it is easing off. So nice to feel myself again.
6. Sat here tonight cutting out flower petals from left over material offcuts, as running and entering a comp, it’s quite therapeutic even thou I’m not really crafty, it all seems to go a bit err unplanned
.
It’s my last day tomorrow err trepadation, but new things whoo hoo I think0
