5 or so for today (Thurs)

    1) Dropped the boys off at school. Smaller son had a school trip to a Sikh temple.

    2) Had my hair cut at college - £2.75!

    3) Sneaky non MS cup of tea and cake at Cafe Neros.

    4) Picked some bits up for my brother from B and Q.

    5) Went to counselling. Fairly gruelling but one tale I told her had her in stitches! She couldn't stop laughing, she apologised twice and had to get a glass of water. She said she had never laughed like it in all her years of counselling! Pleased to say it was just a tale about what our sons had been up to, rather than something personal about me!

    6) Popped down to see dad (still getting better) than had a look at my brother's barn conversion he has done almost single handed and it's going really well.

    7) Lots of lovely texts from OH. :-)

    8) Chinese take away for tea.

Another busy day, chez VJsmum so a quick 5 for yesterday

    1. Did a book review - another £40 in the holiday fund, ta very much. But more than that, felt more confident in what I was saying and at the point where they said "would you recommend this book for publication" could confidently answer "no" and explain what I would do to improve it!
    2. I had to be in work at 9.00 again - 3rd time this week - but OH was able to see kids out of the house. I don't like it when they have to see themselves off to school. It doesn't happen that often and DD is nearly 16 so quite capable and they are only alone for about 20 minutes (who am I justifying this to? ;)) but it had already happened twice this week so it was good that he could do it yesterday.
    3. Really, really good teaching sessions. I enjoyed them and I think the students did.
    4. Students ar$ing about in the coffee bar where I was marking, ended up chucking an empty coffee cup my way. One of them came over and apologised and he wasn't the one that chucked it. Nice to know there are still some people with manners
    5. Finally got in at 8.15 and needed food NOW. SO had potato cake and fried egg - yummy.

Now I've got to go and make some icing roses.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    1. The op went. Not sure how well yet as I was out of it when the consultant came round to talk to me in the evening, but hey it's done and I have some new scars to join the others! From what I remember he was a bit gloomy about what they found, but I'm in far less pain than anticipated, so I'm happy and will wait a couple of weeks for the official news, ignorance being bliss and all that :)

    2. The fabulous NHS - the care I received in hospital was outstanding; lovely caring nurses, great doctors, everyone was so nice, the ward was spotless, I had all the painkillers I could possibly need, and the bed was very comfy, if I hadn't been on hourly obs, I would have slept like a log!

    3. My wondrous parents who brought DD in to visit me, giving me a nice boost, and she was fascinated by the machines and very well-behaved, wowing the crowds with her loveliness (I had been talking about her to anyone who'd listen, as is my way, lol....)

    4. My wondrous parents who have been looking after us both, waiting on us hand and foot and cooking lovely meals :)

    5. Lots of lovely cards and presents from chums

    6. The bittersweet realisation that I can now buy 'mobility' items at VAT free prices as I qualify for the reductions....we got raisers for the sofas which make them very high indeed but I'll get used to the look of them I hope!

    7. Saw OH briefly yesterday *swoon* :)

    1. The sunrises this week have been spectacular.

    2. Seeing about 10 phesants in the field opposite my house.

    3. Lots of laughterat work over silly things but makes day go faster. If we didn't laugh I think stress would be too much at the moment.

    4. DS2 doing well in all but one of his modules for his AS/A2 exams he took/retook in January.

    4. Seeing the moon last night with a cloud covering part of it - it looked lovely.
