Sorry to spoil your fun but Call the Midwife isn't on - it finished last week

savingqueen wrote: »Chickenopolis - Our elderly cats are pooing everywhere - front and back gardens and whilst I won't dream of passing the problem onto another 'innocent' garden, I would like to restrict the poo zones so I can have a go at planting something edible this year and let the children play outside in the back garden. If I can do my own operation cat poo in back garden and leave front alone for my daily poo patrol (marching and a military style hat optional)
:rotfl:Savingqueen - Unfortunately no combat gear is required .. unless this floats your boat of courseI have raised beds (not the princess and the pea type ) and OH built a frame around the large one which has netting over it. He put some screws in the base of the beds in order to keep the netting down - sort of like a fitted sheet , but netting iyswim ?. The frame is about belly button height and means that I can grow tall stuff in it without cats , birds or chickens getting in. Its like getting in a tent if I need to do anything in there .
The other raised beds just have cloches and construction mesh folded in half in them that we salvaged with lots of pointy sticks in the gaps !! To stop little furry butts sitting comfortably
I hope this makes sense ??:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
thanks VJsmum for both commentsSorry to spoil your fun but Call the Midwife isn't on - it finished last week

oooh no!!! ditto
thanks for letting me know, would have been disappointed later. Guess its more OS browsing and an early night with a hot chocolate then. Sad old fart that I've become. Actually on second thoughts....not a bad eve :rotfl:Did I ever wear silly heels, skimpy dress with no coat in winter and go clubbing?!!! If my 20 something self could see me now, how she would laugh!0 -
Thanks for your reply Chickenopolis. I can sort of picture it (I'm a complete novice at gardening other than the odd tub of flowery plants) I'll add it to the list of jobs for DH to do - I think he's going for the Guiness Book of Records - the longest list of DIY jobs that never get done. He's in with a good chance I think!
Good luck with the planting!

Happy Birthday to you dear Sparrer, hope you enjoyed your lunch xx
1. The lovely sunshine
2. Decluttered some more clothes to the charity bank
3. Took more things over to the new house and admired the garden
4. Spoke up during church to share my good news about my bad leg being less bad now, very brave of me but given that the other week I wanted to call the papers, speaking to a hundred or so wasn't too hard!
5. Lovely lunch with other church newbies sitting outside watching sheep in the field, chatting to interesting people
6. One of the best - realising that I did loads of walking and carrying a heavy bag yesterday and I have minor aches but NO pain in my back or leg, woohoo!!! And I didn't even take any painkillers all day
7. I got a load of washing out and dry on the line, woohoo!
8. My mobile is playing up, but thankfully I managed to email myself all the photos DD and I took at the science museum yesterday for her project
9. Looking forward to a girly chum coming over to help me hopefully finish packing and drink wine tonight0 -
Afternoon all.
I'll get mine in early today as I'm out this evening and won't have time otherwise:
1) A couple of posh Waitr0se hot cross buns for breakfast (RTC, of course!) - I'm going to try to re-create them as they were delicious.
2) I've found another crocus bud, so that's 2 flowers from 80 bulbs. :undecided
3) I splashed a bit of bleach on my sleeve while cleaning black mould off the bedroom wall, but I seem to have washed it quickly enough that it hasn't marked.
4) A lazy sort of afternoon watching sport - rugby earlier, and now football.
5) Out with friends at another pub quiz tonight - this is a monthly one, with a £100 top prize, so I hope we win.
Have a nice evening, all, and happy birthday sparrer!Back after a very long break!0 -
While the eveing meal is cooking I thought I would get mine in:-
1. Put my boys out in the field this morning and then watched them lay down in the sun, sunbathing for a few hours this afternoon - they looked blissfully happy!
2. Cut back some house plants which had become 'leggy'.
3. Sat in the conservatory with a cup of coffee late this morning enjoying the suns rays and warmth.
4. Got another load of washing dried out on the line in this really good weather we are having.
5. Polished two pairs of boots this afternoon. Love the scent of the polish thoughCat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Mine for today
1. Cheeky lie in til 8.30, because GSD and her smelly bottom had a sleepover with the 'rents :evilMillie: I had to go in and wake her up though, so apart from waking them up at silly o'clock, barking at the paper [STRIKE]boy[/STRIKE] old man
2. OH rocked up eventually after a boys' night out- I think he may have still been drunk. Anyhow, he scooped me up and declared that he was taking me out to lunch. But Millie being Millie, she had to print off a discount voucher first:rotfl:We went to Zizzi and it was v nice!
3. Had a mooch around the shops, didn't really spend much, apart from buying some bird seed and scooby snacks for GSD in £land, a few easter bits for Mum from Lakeland and a couple of "cheer up" bits for Mrs Ponycarer. I had a mooch in a couple of clothes shops and I am not terribly impressed with this season's fashions, so will stick with my usual attire of joddies and wellies, which never goes out of fashion (in my head anyhow)
4. Have been making some jewellery- Made another necklace for EMW and I have been given administrator rights on their Facebook auction page, so I launched an instant auction for them, set to end tonight. Made mum a bracelet too
5. Watching the bunnies play in the garden- I let the old man loose and he was winding up the other two in the run and running round and round- he is flat out snoozing now, worn out- silly old fossil!!
Hugs to anyone in need. I have the luxury of not having to go into work tomorrow, but a huge markling pile to tackle... Still, I don't have Sunday Night Blues I suppose:cool:0
