Sparrer- you could have a birthday and a re-birth day??
Welcome MrsChaos0 -
Hello MrsChaos, post as often as you like, it's lovely to read everyone's things and for me, keeps me 'up' as even on a horrible day, I can usually find 5-10 good things that have happened
Congratulations Mr Villagelife0 -
Morning
Pleasures for the last couple of days,
1. £3 in luncheon vouchers arrived in the post from a survey
2. New Mattress was delivered, taking a bit of getting used to but is sooo much better than the last one
3. Another training walk around Virginia Water on Saturday with the girls. We were late getting out so only did 6 miles but I then walked to Mr.T and back so got another 2 miles in.
4. Food shopping coming in on budget again, when you have to carry your shopping home it concentrates the mind on what you actually need.
5. Lots of washing line dried
6. Going for a bike ride with DD to the local nature reserve as she needed to take photos for her art GSCE course work. Note to self - must buy new saddle for bike as have a very sore bottom today:o
7. Picnic in the sunshine yesterday, can't believe how warm it was yesterday for a february day
8. NSD
Hugs to all who need them and congratulations Sparrer, your achievement should definetly be celebrated0 -

I was thinking the same thing!Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Congrats Mr Villagelife
For yesterday
1. Went to garden centre and caravan centre with OH. Browsing the caravans made us appreciate how much we like ours! Kind of wish we were going away in it at Easter - although we are going to Paris for a few days so I shouldn't moan
2. Exchanged our scruffy horrid dining table for one that we have had for 30 years but looks better. It was a damn good buy as it's been in the garage for about 5 years but you wouldn't know it.
3. Managed to spend a little time in the garden - starting to dig over veg patch and adding manure.
4. Successful tea of freezer surprise - various roasts (including leftovers from christmas day), frozen cauli cheese followed by a lemon tart I made with YS mascarpone
5. Just standing in the garden at dusk watching the birds in the trees, the stillness of everything and spying a couple of camellias that have come out on our bush - very early and beautifully perfect - "what is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare"?
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
VJsmum - I wholeheartedly agree, took a moment when walking back from DD's school run to listen to the birds, they sounded so happy this morning0

my 5 for today so far:
1) Boys off to school happily.
2) Got the hoovering, washing etc done and brought a lot of logs in for the stove.
3) Got the boys some "new" t shirts on Ebay (providing I win them).
4) Bumped into the boys' old health visitor in town, a very kind lady who was very helpful when I left the ex husband.
5) Bottled last year's blackberry wine then the birch sap wine. It really is the weirdest wine I have ever made! It is very sweet and lemon tasting and quite thick - just strange.
6) My brother came round to mend the curtain pole in my room (the boys were jumping on my bed and snapped the bracket off).
7) Texts from OH.
8) Stove going nicely and not much left to do this evening. Might try for an early night (never happens).0 -
Evening all.
1) A lazy day today, of the kind I can only justify when waiting for a delivery (which finally turned up just after 4.30).
2) NSD.
3) Counted up the tokens I collect from a particular brand of cat food and found I had enough to exchange for a donation of 14 cans of cat food to the Cat Protection League.
4) Made a leek and Stilton quiche for dinner, using the last of a huge piece of Stilton I got RTC after Christmas (it got cut into chunks and frozen, which is why there's still a bit left).
5) And a nice glass of wine to go with it, from a bottle I opened over the weekend.
(Oh, and we did win the quiz last night, so thanks for your support, all! Sadly, though, the money will go towards nothing more exciting than a new clothes dryer for the garden, as the pole on my existing one snapped last night.)
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all!
Thank you all for your kind words re old Marmite the hen xx
villagelife - contrats. to your clever, clever DS's
pk - I hope you are ok and not too frazzled from the job x
4 for today
1. Dyed hair last night - I always get a surprised by it when I am drying it the next day - who is that in the mirror ?etc
2. Chats to family on FB about parrots and men . Don't ask;)
3. Went to see gp and he thinks I have "post traumatic arthritis" from an old fracture in my good (!) hand . Being sent for an xray and have to wear splint and take anti inflams. I want one like a glamorous long glove :rotfl:
4.About to take the "Aged P" for a pizza courtesy of Mr. T .
have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Chicken- sorry to hear about the hand- I have similar after a fractured wrist and it is painful xx Enjoy your Pizza
CCP- well done re the quiz!!
Mine for today (not very pleasureful as I have had a migraine!! Not sure what is wrong with me at the moment, I seem to be falling to pieces!)
1. Mini lie in to attempt to sleep off said migraine....didn't work tho!
2. Walk in woods...ditto, but we did meet one of GSD's friends, who is also a GSD and we all had a chat/bum sniff (the GSDs, not us, obv.)
3. Local Friendly Farmer came to remove the muckheap- this provided a couple of hours of entertainment for the hosses. 8yo was having hysterics (a tractoooooor and a traileeeeeer and a maaaaaaan and I am am aryab x, so I will tart around with my tail in the air); Oldie rolled her eyes at all of the activity, then, despite watching said muckheap removal, did a huge spook at the fact that the muckheap wasn't there anymore. Eejit! The fresh air and muckheap smell actually helped my migraine!
4. I found out that I won the "fan of the week" on the facebook page of one of my bead suppliers and I am due a prize...yahooo!
5. I have left a little surprise pressie for Mrs Ponycarer to find in the morning - she is having a bit of a tough time at the moment and I wanted to cheer her up a bit. Umm, I hope I haven't hidden it too well, that would be just my luck
Hugs to anyone in need xx0
