Evening all,
1) Day off work! Hurrah! I've had a lovely day!
2) My flat is spotless. Ok maybe not spotless but it is very clean. Why is it that as soon as my kitchen is sparkling I decide to do some baking/ make lunch/ make supper?
3) Had an estate agent round to value my flat. It was better than I expected. Still not worth seilling it though. I bought it at the very top of the market
4) Baked some apple and carrot muffins. Thanks to whoever mentioned them on here. They are nomnomnom! I added some walnuts to mine.
5) Made a gorgeous supper... Mushroom and onion macaroni cheese. Oh my... It was LUSH!
Night all...
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all. Welcome, :hello: MrsChaos
Five pleasures for Monday:
1. DS1 was offered the p/t job on the spot.:T It lasts 'til Christmas.
2. £20 'sorry' voucher arrived from Lakeland. Lovely treat. Their customer service is extraordinarily good. :T
3. We have our electricity back on after a power cut, although getting on with everything by candlelight made a nice change.
4. Getting some long term work planning done for our sports club.
5. Another NSD.
Sleep well

Evening
Pleasures for today
1. Missed the bus this morning so walked to work, enjoyed the fresh air
2. Monday lunch club at work. H made Mulagatawny Soup, K made bread, C made a Victoria sponge. All eaten with much laughter and annoyed the office grump so a good lunch all round
3. Bought a tacky paper for the £5 off Mr.T voucher to use at the weekend
4. Reading with DD tonight. Reading is always a struggle for her but she did really well and then enjoyed me reading the rest of the chapter she needed to get through for homework. Nice to spend some quiet time with her.
5. Yummy crispy chilli chicken for dinner
6. Finished all the knotting on the baby blanket I am making :jjust needs cutting off the frame now. That can wait until tomorrow
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Evening all happy unbirthday to all having an unbirthday ;-)
1) had my nose and mouth scanned for some uni project - very interesting. Fraid i had visions of my little nose sitting in the directory of noses saying 'pick me pick me' sorry, very puerile humour
2) very nice soup out - haddock and sweet potato chowder. Not a combo i would have thought of but now keen to try. Have some fish stock in freezer
3) friend staying a few days - havent seen him for years (he also had his face scanned) after lunch we went to mcmanus museum which is free and very good
4) then we walked down to the river. We saw the rig, the harbour, the unicorn, the fab view of fife and walked past both bridges. All lovely (though bracing) and free. I even found 28p for my road kill jar
5) cooked very nice spag bol, though i had the last of the bean stew on mine. Have put rest of bol in fridge for wed as off to edinburgh for day. Managed to cadge lift both waysMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Evening all
I could get used to this. Thanks for the welcome I spotted - unfortunately no time to read back further.
1. Started the day with a nice hot bath - albeit at 5.15am.
2. Spent time talking to a colleague/friend over a piece of cake and cuppa.
3. A really difficult girl at work actually did what I asked her to do .
4. DS2 ate most of his tea.
5. Saving a small amount each week from cancelling after school childcare for DS2 on Fridays - will almost cover the cost of the service plan for the car.
OK, this is clearly easier at weekends.Be back tomorrow.

Evening all, welcome MrsChaos
Does anyone make gluten free bread in a bread maker? I've searched Mr A, Mr. M and Mr S for gluten free bread flour without success. Can I use DovesFarm ordinary gluten free? It says 'for home baking' but only has cake recipes on the pack. Also my panny book recipe says to use cider vinegar, wonder if ordinary white vinegar would do? Will look for the bread making board if no-one can help, but tia
1. Took DGD2 to the orthodontist, good news is she gets the bottom brace off on Wed, bad news is I have to take her on Weds, and next Mon for the retainer to be fitted. I don't really mind of course as it's nice to be needed, and it's all in a good cause
2. DD, DGD2 and I had a wander around the shops, bought one or two essentials but didn't get anything we didn't need. Has lunch in Mr S, was cheap and filling
3. Took DGD to her friends house, the family are moving to France this weekend and the mother has given DGD all her dressmaking equipment, including dummy, pattern board, rolls of fabric, numerous packets of seed pearls, beads, sequins etc etc. Lucky girl! She's really going to miss her best friend, who she's known all through school, but has all this amazing stuff, and the offer of holidays in France
4. Bought a tray of 16 pansies for £5, planted them this afternoon and now have some colour in a couple of tubs. Must go back for more before they sell out, I can always find space for them
5. Wild Britain on Discovery. A repeat but can never get tired of it
Sweet dreams

Yes I used to make gluten free bread in my Panasonic Bread Maker. There is a special programme so dont know if it would work otherwise? I used a gluten free mix.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Rushing in with yesterday's goodies
1. NSD, reached my 15 day target, hoorah!
2. Yummy leftovers for lunch
3. Friend looked after DD and then fed us both dinner and me wine, hoorah
4. The solicitor FINALLY sent through the figures I needed, of course they were wrong and I picked up on it......blooming useless people am definitely never using them again, but at least I got the info for their bank account
5. The bank nearly gave me a heart attack by demanding photo ID then realising that I had at least 6 accounts with them and relenting and so the money transfer is set up for first thing this morning, phew! At least they were all nice and friendly and we had a bit of a laugh at the chap doing my transaction as he was young and using "street" talk in a very silly way. The rest of us were ladies old enough to be his mum (or in some cases his granny) and he took it well
6. Nice chats with OH, who sadly didn't come over which made me very sad, but then we talked about it, and I realised as we did that it's not him I'm sad with, it's so many other things that have gone on in this house in the past 8 years that are coming to the fore as I prepare to move on.
7. Good chat with my mum on the phone just before I went to bed
8. Reading a good book in bed before having a great night's sleep
9. Got loads of work done
10. Took more stuff over to the new house, but oh my goodness, there's still plenty to do here!!!
Right, I have to stop waffling and get dressed and get on with the rest of it.....before D-day tomorrow0 -
