  • Good evening all !

Another beautiful day in Costa del Sussex - except my old hen passed away :( We have had her for 6 years and she was my favourite.

sparrer - am I being more blonde than usual? Is it your actual birthday or anniversary of the other thing?? If so Happy Birthday x

Millie - Without a voucher , meals out just seem too overpriced now that I am "used" to it .Lol

    CCP - good luck !!!

    5 for today

    1. Three lots of washing dried on the line .

    2. Sorted out the raised beds and found buried treasure ! Not bling , but a large potato and some carrots that were all edible.Cooked the potato for the hens and had the carrots with our tea.

    3. I know I am about a week early, but planted some dwarf peas under a cloche . Its my first attempt at growing peas, so I hope that they grow.

    4. Beef stroganoff made in the slow cooker :)

    5. Not back to work until Wednesday :)
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    Evening all,

    Happy birthday SPARRER!!!

CHICKEN - sorry to hear about your hen. Our animals hind a way of wriggling into our hearts

    1) Lovely sunshine :) and had all the windows wide open

    2) Did a cleaning blitz - and even mopped the kitchen floor (a job I hate!)

    3) Kitty has been cuddly tonight

    4) Made some yummy tuna fish cakes for supper

    5) Afternoon nap :)

    Night night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Chicken no you didn't get it wrong :) like one or two others you were exactly right. Seems I'm not very good at being discreet! But thanks to everyone for the kind wishes although it wasn't my actual birthday, it was the AAniversary of the day my life turned around. Sorry for the confusion :o, in future I'll stick to my real birthday - though that's beginning to be one I'd prefer to forget!

So sorry to hear about the old lady. She had a wonderful life with you and can now flap to her heart's content in that great dust bath in the sky :A

    1. Only had the shower on warm this morning, the sun had already warmed up the bathroom

    2. Took a bag of Mr M's 'M bargain' SR flour back, along with the two bricks which were supposed to be fruit loaves. The young supervisor said they weren't obliged to refund unless it stated so on the packet and after a comment about my baking (how dare he? Young whippersnapper  !) a lady intervened and I was refunded immediately. She also gave me a bag of their regular SR flour :). We do try to be MS but be warned, their new budget SR flour doesn't self raise!

    3. Excellent meeting, very generous friends gave me cards, a sweet little plant and a family of meerkats for the garden. Strange, but novel

    4. A lovely lunch in a village pub, we've been there before and almost cleared the place with our laughter. We did it again today - and there wasn't an alcoholic drink between us - who needs it? :p

    5. Have turned the heating off, hoping I don't have to have it on again until next Winter

    Sweet dreams
    S :)

Sparrer, you need to have two birthdays like the Queen and both need to be celebrated with cake and candles and presents.:D

Today was a bit better, thank you all.

    Five pleasures:

    1. DS1 sharing lots of chocs with me from the box he'd been given.:)

    2. Spending much of the day in the company of adults and children we like a lot.

    3. Having another NSD.

    4. Tonight's supper was mostly the leftovers of last night's supper warmed up. It made it easy which was good because I am terribly tired.

    5. Decided to put the treats tin video on hold and watch Upstairs Downstairs on iplayer in a minute instead, so that is a treat about to happen. Will make myself some cocoa in preparation.

    Sleep well

    Pleasure for yesterday and today.

    Yesterday

    1) Boys went home after sleepover! They were all very good and I think my sons enjoyed it.

    2) Lovely, bright day.

    3) Tidied house up.

    4) Went to OH's house. :-)

    5) Chinese for tea.

    Today

    1) Waking up with OH. :-)

    2) Watching OH refereeing a couple of rugby matches.

    3) OH's birthday.

    4) Made fudge.

    5) Back home again and my sons came back from their father's.

    6) My school friend came round for tea although it was a bit of a spartan affair! Hadn't really planned today's tea after my weekend away at OH's so we ended up having toast and tinned tomato soup.

    Hi

I hope you don't mind if I join in. Won't be around much in term-time, as I also try to find time for flyladies on here, but I need to not be so down all the time and want to remind myself of good things.

    Today's 5:
    1. Had my last piece of DH's lemon drizzle cake.
    2. A free coffee from a well known fast food chain when I took the kids to a shopping centre (had collected 6 stickers and filled the next sticker card today :D)
    3. Shoe shop allowed us to exchange DS1's 2-month old trainers after a part of the strap broke. I didn't have the receipt, but found a record on my bank statement and they accepted that.
    4. Had a pleasant afternoon out with the DSs - nice conversations with DS1 are still rare. He's 17.
    5. Cup of tea in bed this morning.

Not posted for a couple of days and will read posts later.

    1. DH passed his degree - all delighted - went for a meal to celebrate not MS but its not everyday.

    2. Warm summy weather.

    3. Lent a collegue £10 - the day before payday so she could go for a booked facial. She has had a few unexpected car costs this month. Good being in position that I could do it being on this board does help.

    4. DS2 doing some research and work on an award scheme he has qualified for.

    5. DS1 realising that a good evening out can mean just at someones house and not at a club/bar - and its much cheaper.

well done Mr Villagelife!, Sparrer well done on your achievements!, Chicken hugs for loss of fave chook!

Well, what a day, I work within a Uni Campus & it was day 1 of Semester 1 today so we were unbelievably busy and could I just stay on an extra hour .....I suppose so, as long as you pay me!

1.It has rained continually all day (apparently a months worth in 1 day) but it is so good for the gardens and the ducks & moorhens looked happy this morning. I drove home with Beethoven still playing & the sound of raindrops on the car & it was quite lovely!

2.Enjoyed the busy buzz at work!

3.Made macaroni for tea, using free cheese from OH's work fridge, so very cheap tea.

    4.Looking forward to watching Casualty.

5.Have went 8 weeks without diet cola drinks! Drinking so much more water....polishes Halo!

    Have a lovely Monday x
