5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2
Comments

Evening all.
1) My favourite breakfast - HM seed bread with SO smoked salmon. (It definitely tastes better when it's on special offer.)
2) A lovely spring day - I was able to have the door open for a while, for the first time this year.
3) My DM texted me to say she'd found some HM cushions in the same colour as my living room, and would I like them as a present. :A They look really nice, and can replace the ones which came with my sofa and which aren't at all comfortable.
4) Ordered a nice bunch of flowers for my DM's birthday next, from a website for which I had a £5 voucher. :money: As an MSE convert, I know my DM won't mind that!
5) HM stuffed crust pizza for dinner.
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all!
5 for today
1. Receiving my £10 love to shop voucher for going paperless (billing) .
2. Grey miserable morning turned in to a beautiful bright afternoon so I sat on an upturned bucket in the sun , with several coats on as it was bliddy cold! Quota of Vit.D
3. OT (I hope that you are ok?)- all this talk of Sarah Raven, I read one of her books this morning "The Great Veg.Plot" and plotted my err.. plot . Too cold to plant just yet but it won't be long:) I am excited by this prospect ,as I now have more time to devote to my garden.
4. Got 8 eggs today ! Mercurial Muriel is laying at last - hurrah ! She was broody for most of last year and I had to keep turfing her off of the eggs .The eggs are a lovely colour ranging from white and blue to various shades of brown . The hens made me laugh as they had a funny turn when some bubbles drifted over the fence from a child playing several doors away .
5. OH made a fruit and nut cake , it was really nice . He has just made steak , chips, peas ,courgettes and onion rings for tea Yum
Have a great evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
1. DD and I went to London today to visit the Science Museum, to get lots of information for her next school project; it was brilliant, I haven't been there in over 30 years and it's certainly changed for the better in that time
2. The train was cheaper than anticipated, including travelcards, yay!
3. In good OS style, I took a good packed lunch and drinks.......but still ended up buying DD an icecream and then we both had a drink and a cake at S*arbucks when we got back to Victoria as we were tired and hungry from all our wandering around by then....oops.....
4. Took back the last of my freebie DVD rentals, it was good whilst it lasted....
5. Nice texts with OH during the day
6. Got off my backside and did some more packing this morning
7. DD gave me lots of cuddles and was very grateful for our trip
8. We chatted to some really lovely and interesting people on the train on both journeys, including a man who gave us a bit of a history lesson.
9. Did a good deed for the day by letting an old lady use my mobile to call and let her son know she was on her way - she'd travelled down all the way from Blackpool with very heavy suitcases full of her son's computers and her gorgeous dog and was going down to Brighton. What a nice mummy she was!0 -
Evening all!! Been awol on and off, I blamed my BB, then my laptop, but think it might be IE9 as it is working via chrome and safari, odd!!
Sparrer - Not sure what the anniversary is about, but your post sounded v positivexx
Ladyhawk - so sorry to hear your sad news. That is way too young to die. RIP Steve xx
Mine for today
1. Gorgeous, gorgeous morning- turfed the hosses out naked (incl Oldie) and mucked out, stopping periodically to watch them graze, happily. Mum took GSD down to the bottom field and left the slip rails down, so Oldie went "yahooooo, freedom" and boinged around said field, rather like Tigger. She soon re-appeared, doing her cute little whinney/grunt when we sat outside, drinking tea and eating biccies.
2. Broccoli, potato and (meant to be) stilton soup for lunch. I actually ended up using the bits of cheese in the fridge, so it was a bit random. It was v well received though and there is enough for tomorrow. I didn't fancy any ( :eek : ) ( not preggers, Chicken, before you start :P)
3. Nice text conversation with bessie mate, with pics of the canvases she has made for new babies, with their names and embellishments, they are lovely :proud:
4. Homemade lasagne for dinner and I prep'd it early, so not much to do tonight. I used RTC Aberdeen Angus mince, but it wasn't a huge pack, so I padded it out with red lentils and it worked really wellI also used some of the v cheap tinned tomatoes from Asda and everything else from stores, so a bit od a bargain meal!!
5. News that one of Mum's friends wants to make a donation to one of the smaller animal charities (she received a small inheritance recently) and asked Mum to ask me which one I favoured. Of course (Chicken, OT) I suggested Equine Market Watchand offered to drive her down to drop off the cheque. They are struggling at the moment (as ever, but time of year/rising hay/feed costs) so I know it will be appreciated
Right, I am about to raid the choccie drawer, raid Dad's wine stash, post GSD through the parental's door (because she raided the leftover lasagne and her bottom might not smell good later) and find some rubbish to watch on TV
Hugs to anyone in need xx0 -

Yes, welcome back, old tractor
So annoyed - after wasting the best part of a week for me and my estate agent, and viewings being cancelled, my buyer has pulled out of the house purchase. I suppose if she's this flaky and unreliable so early on it may turn out to be a good thing.
Mine for today:
1. Lovely sunny day here in Bristol, so warm I didn't need a coat when out.
2. Walking into town and getting some new library books and exercise along the way.
3. Finishing up my yummy pate for lunch along with hot pitta bread.
Can't think of any more - too annoyed! :mad:Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Evening all,
What a fabulous dayI'm a happy bunny. Though feel like a really bad mum. The feline has been prescribed tramadol by thje vet. I have been trying for 3 days to get him to take it but he's refused to eat it. I left a message for the vet yesterday and she fi ally got back to me at lunch time today. She suggested that I dissolve it in water and syringe it into his mouth. Which I did. Within a minute he was foaming at the mouth. Poor little lad. He's ok now and has forgiven me.
1) Fabulous warm sunny day
2) Spent an hour or so pottering in the garden. I mowed the lawn and did a lot of weeding so it is looking a touch more presentable
3) Made a yummy supper - haddock gratin. I wasn't so sure about fish, mushrooms annd cheese but it was lovely
4) Lap full of cat
5) Nap this afternoon when I was watching the rugby (;) Chicken)
6) Chatted on FB with my dear friend in Oz. She is a bit of a depressive and last year I think she was having paranoid delusions but she seems a lot better.
7) Did my ironing tonight (I need a life)
8) Glass of red wine while cooking supper. I rarely drink at home so this was a treat
9) Switched my heating off completely. I hope I won't have to relight it before November
Night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Grrrr to the blooming annoying 'buyer' SFO, hope you'll get a better person coming along very soon x0
