Hugs Frith - I think "falling asleep" is man-code for "I'm not sure how to react to the email, I need some time to let it filter through my brain and then we can have a chat about it"......try not to worry too much, and I would be angry too, as we are women and our brains work in completely different ways to men's.....x

  • Echo Kittikins, I am guessing that he needed time to let it all sink it :cuddle: and it may well still be sinking in. It sounds like a tough email for you to write (god knows counselling is bloody hard work anyhow!) and I can imagine it felt like a bit of a rejection getting nothing back when you had poured your heart and soul into it

Stick with the counselling, I know it feels a bit rubbish now, but I promise that it will help in the long run in how you relate to others (speaking as a counsellor and a patient at the moment :) ) And it takes two, remember, so please try not to take too much responsibility yourself for how the relationship is going

Would he, at some point, consider relationship counselling with you? I thought my OH would be dead set against it, so when I suggested that we went to relate a few years back and he said "yes" I almost fell over! It was, without a doubt one of the best things we have ever done and I doubt very much we would still be happily together if we hadn't gone

Please feel free to PM me if you want to chat xx

Hi Frith ....this sums up the difference between women and most men in my opinion. Hang in there he might surprise you once he has had time to take it all in x

    Evening all.

I didn't have time to post yesterday as I had to take mog to the v*e*t. Another person waiting had a kitten that looked exactly like a slightly older version of savingforoz's avatar - I spent some time surreptitiously watching the kitten, trying to work out where I'd seen it before, before I realised what I was thinking of! :o
CCP - I have not started painting the dining room with a chicken.... yet . I did laugh at your post .

Is that what they mean by the paint technique 'feathering'? (Sorry. :o)

    Yesterday:
    1) My first HG daffodil opened. (And promptly collapsed in the wind and rain, but never mind. :p)
    2) Some cut daffys I got on BOGOF have all opened and look gloriously yellow. :D
    3) A gorgeous spring-like day.
    4) The v*e*t was quite happy with mog's health and doesn't think there's any problem with his... um... digestion. (I don't think anyone needs or wants more details than that!) I'm a bit miffed with him, though, for convincing me to buy some special food for mog - he said it was about the same price as normal cat food, and I only realised when I checked my receipt that it's actually £10 a box. As my DM said, that's only 'normal' price if you buy your cat food in Harrods!
    5) Due to a long wait at the vet I didn't have time for dinner before going out to the pub quiz, so I could treat myself to a hot dog without guilt. And very nice it was too - I must visit the butcher that supplies the sausages as they're delicious.

    Today:
    1) Another lovely springy day.
    2) One of my crocuses has a bud on it, which is a relief as I thought they'd all come up blind.
    3) Reverbe'd a penny. (I don't think it will be much help to you, Ladyhawk, but you're welcome to it if you like! ;))
    4) Found a bag of damsons in the freezer which I'd forgotten I still had, so I've stewed them up for later.
    5) Knowing I've got a longer than usual weekend ahead of me, as I've got Monday off work. :j

Hugs to Frith and to anyone else in need of one.
Back after a very long break!

Just a quick flying visit from me - got some dull paperwork to get on with :(

    Mine for today:

    1. Fudge Foster Cat's new mum and dad coming round to sort the paperwork for her adoption and telling me how sweet and affectionate she is - which came as no surprise at all...

    2. Yummy homemade terrine for evening meal and some of my homemade pate with pitta bread for lunch - easily the best I've made. Got the consistency just right - yum!

    3. Finishing my OU psychology course. Have signed up to do a finance and economics one next week, at a more advanced level.

    4. A guilty pleasure - skipping the gym and having a nap instead...:o

    5. A NSD and a NPD day.

Sorry for the flying visit - hope everyone is well and hugs to those who need them.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Hoping all are well, hugs for those who need them

Just watched The One Show, they're featuring a 'cake 'club' at a secret location. I'm going to find out where it is for free cake :D

    1. Another sunny garden day, cut down the dead greenery on the old eucalyptus so the hanging baskets can be seen better. Planning the coming season is difficult, I keep changing my mind! (Woman's perogative though)

    2. Had all the windows and back door open, no sprays/plug-in's/wicks etc needed here :D

    3. Sorted a bag for the cs, will need more clothes soon but there's a local outlet even cheaper than the cs's so will be paying them a visit tomorrow. Just for window shopping, of course ;)

    4. Like CCP I love yellow, and have asked on freecycle for yellow emulsion to mix with the white I already have, to make very pale lemon to go in the lounge. Since changing the cream sofas for brown ones it feels a bit dark now so needa a little 'sunshine' to brighten it up. My DNeighbour's lounge is lovely and light though, she has my old sofas :D

    5. It's the 7th anniversary of the day my life turned around (one or two might remember), been reflecting on how very fortunate I've been for my family and friends support and encouragement, and all the things I've been able to do since then. Looking forward I can't wait to see what happens next :)

Thank you everyone for all the posts, pm's, meetings, all this board has given me. If ever anyone needs prove of what a super 'family' this is, just come and ask :A

    1. Saw OH :) (didn't have enough cuddles though :( )

    2. Bought some nice wine

    3. Good chat with a couple of friends

    4. Was invited out for a girly night tonight, sadly I can't make it, but nice to be invited.

    5. Work was okay, and a day nearer to payday!

    6. I've done some, but of course not enough packing, but I might take some of it over to the forever home tomorrow :)

    7. Yet another bit of paperwork for the house sale done!

    8. Nice chat with my mum on the phone

    9. Lovely cuddles with DD

    10. Used the last day of my blockbuster free dvds to get another for DD, I'm a bit annoyed that there are so few films that look remotely interesting to me, what's happened to the film industry?!?

    11. Filled up the car using my 1p off a litre of petrol credit card.

Nah CCP I will be using eggshell paint !!

Oldtractor - how spooky:) . My french grey is not as posh as F&B it is the one with the big hairy dog , the size of a pony. Truth is I have not even opened the tin yet :o

Ladyhawk - good luck with the house :)

Frith - hang in there ((hugs). If he had responded when he was half asleep he may have inadvertently walked in to a mine field and responded inappropriately only to regret doing so later?? Only a suggestion ,as I have been reminded of my lack of tact and diplomacy when I have been tired or a bit squiffy -Still painful though xx

millie - you may one day get a mulberry trolley to wheel down the shops when you are 85 :rotfl:

    5 for today

    1. Renewed my car insurance early and got £20 off for renewing and £20 of M&S vouchers to arrive within 28 days .OH thought he would look to see what a new customer would be quoted and it was £400 more than my quote. Still I am happy, as it is a reduction on last years amount .

    2. Received an email to say that my £10 voucher is on its way for going paperless with my utility bills.

3.Received £50 of Pizza vouchers from Mr. T - I will take the "Aged P" and OH out on Monday night for a treat .

    4. Thought I would have a go at planting some peas this year , so bought a packet for 79p . As operation cat poo has been a success and my raised beds are no longer used as giant cat litter trays.

    5. OH sectioned off half of the garden with orange plastic construction netting much to the hens disgust , in the vain hope that some grass may grow once again. It looks really funny.

Have a good weekend all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

What a lovely post - don't know what your 7 anniversary is, though I could hazard a guess. You are always so positive and "up for it". I'm quite up for it myself, but not in your league. And you are right, this board is lovely.

    For today

    1. Didn't need much shopping so went to Mr M - though I spent £50, it was a lot less than the £200 I spent last week  :o And about £20 of the £50 was hair dye, loo roll on offer and beer for OH cos he is fussy about his beer and we can't always get what he wants. So I think £30 on a weeks food is pretty good.
    2. Shopping trip was super quick so got a couple of non standard jobs done.
    3. Hanging washing on the line in bright sunshine.
    4. Made fish pie for us and "grandad pie" (a sort of corned beef hash invented by my dad) for the kids - with 2 portions for the freezer, taking up the space the fish came out of. Will I never run these freezers down?
    5. 2 glasses of delicious red wine with dinner.
    6. A good phone call with dad - he was out of bed and in the chair today and managed to get himself back to bed without even using the zimmer.:T Last week he couldn't even stand. His attitude has completely turned round and now he wants to get better and wants to go home.

    Have a good weekend, folks
I wanna be in the room where it happens
