    Evening all,

Sparrer - glad Mutley has perked up
Kittikins - glad your op has finally come through so you can get whatever the problem is, sorted. And how lovely that you will be settled in your new home when have to recover
Chicken - how is the painting going?

    1) I have put an offer on the lovely house in Norff Larnden:j Sparrer I don't think that I will be too far from your DD. Yes, the property is not the prettiest (60's loveliness) but it has such potential... and an electric garage!!!:j It is a cheeky offer, but not that cheeky. So fingers crossed they will accept it. Now I just have to work out how I will afford the deposit...

    2) Had a lovely cuppa tea with my DSIL this morning

    3) Took the car back to VDub where I bought it as the wheels were clearly misaligned when I bought it from them. They attempted to get me to pay for the priviledge but I soon disuaded them of this approach and they did it FOC. :) They had called me yesterday to ask if I would consider selling it back to them. Turns out that they wanted to offer me about 2/3 of what I paid 6 months ago. I politely told them to stick it. He sounded surprised that I would not consider trading in my convertable for a polo... and I "wouldn't even have to pay that much more!":rotfl:Twits...

    4) If you put the house to one side it has been a LSD with my only spending 85p on lunch. i need a few more of those!

    5) Pretty sunset on the way home from work tonight.... i had a good opportunity to appreciate it when I was stuck in stationary traffic on the M1...

Hope you all have a fabulous evening.

    L

Grey and windy here. I would say Scots Grey but have now learned that's a type of chicken ;-) so Dundee Grey it will be. Tongue has been painful but the leaflet says today is the most painful so hooray for that :D
    1) Not being able to talk, postponed both student meetings and told work I would be working from home
    2) Had very nice O&S soup (not sure if we're allowed to say Odds and S*ds on the boards lol), using up last night's beef stock, broccoli stalk, soft potato, half a tin of beans, last of the red onions, and last of the tube of basil. Whizzed up with hand-held blender so nice and easy to eat :T
    3) Threw out unopened dried milk (BBE Apr 2008). I hate the stuff when it's fresh, and now I've found Mr T does boxes of those tubes of milk I take those when I go abroad instead (also since I transfer some dried milk into a container, goodness knows what'd happen if I'd got stopped at customs
    4) Had very nice kedgeree cooked by OH tonight. Minimal chewing involved :T and there's plenty for tomorrow's lunch (I'm out and sarnies isn't going to be an option) and tea
    5) Now drinking Vouvray which was from my MIL. I'm usually a red wine bod but this had been opened at FIL's wake so clearly needs my immediate attention. Not bad, even with a sore tongue

Lovely day, that I was looking forward to. But spent most of it in a room without windows :( Bl00dy work

    So for today

    1. Lovely day nonetheless
    2. Managed to get 2 loads of washing on the line
    3. Found out, I'm probably not in line for redundancy
    4. Lovely pasta aubergine bake for tea - made yesterday so quick. Washed down with yummy red wine
    5. SHould finish knitting my jacket tonight.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Am absolutely done in tonight - terribly tired. So just a quick five for today:

    1. Another NSD - the number is climbing nicely.

    2. Managed, after three months of failed attempts, actually to return something to a friend that I've been forgetting time after time, despite seeing them regularly.:o

    3. The promise of a 'sorry' voucher from Lakeland. Thank you Lakeland. :D

    4. Putting 70p of silver coins into my silver coins pot for this week. :)

    5. Reading a useful little booklet that came free with the vegbox on ideas for using up random veg at the end of the week, and they are not all soup!:D

    Sleep well

  • Oh My Goodness. We have just seen The Woman in Black. B*gger me, it was scary  I actually feel quite traumatised- and it takes a lot to rattle me! I've had to pour a medicinal glass of red to get over it!! And I will be keeping the light on in bed tonight, methinks

    Mine for today

    1. Sent OH to work with some of last night's cottage pie for lunch- I am on a one woman mission to stop him eating hospital canteen junk food (and save some money too!).. Mind you, in an act of revenge (probably) he has just snarfed down my apple lattice cake that he "found in the fridge". Growls. So I called him Eamonn (Holmes, ref. Impressions Show)
    2. Made a necklace for my mum's friend's birthday- Want to keep it myself!! I don't charge her, because she buys me beads, walks my dog, mucks out my ponies, occasionally feeds me, etc etc, but it has saved her money and it is unique!
    3. Reverbed a £2 coin from the living room floor *whistles* I wouldn't normally keep it, but I overheard a lady at the German markets telling her friend that she bought her Mulberry bag by saving up £2 coins and I have been saving them ever since (the only way I could ever own a Mulberry bag). I offered OH a share in the future Mulberry bag for contributions of £2 coins, but he declined, as apparently it wasn't a viable investment opportunity. I have approximately £14 towards the Mulberry bag, so I might actually own one by the time I am 85. This only counts as OS because once I own the Mulberry bag (aged 85) I will never have to buy another bag again. Genius
    4. [STRIKE]Took oldie[/STRIKE] Oldie took me for a [STRIKE]walk[/STRIKE] drag around the field in the sunshine. I offered GSD the chance to come with us, but she looked as me as if to say "are you mental?" and jumped in the car, the big wuss!
    5. Can't think of a 5th, especially as I fell off the OS wagon and failed to smuggle my own refreshments into the cinema!

Keep expecting the Woman in Black's face to appear at the window, actually I expected OH's face to appear when I sent him out to the garage to get some milk- missed opportunity to scare the pants off me there!!

Hugs to anyone in need ( actually I feel I am in need right now  ) xx

(((hugs))) I think that I will definitely be avoiding that one! I am such a complete wuss when it comes to scarey films!

Chicken pleased you can make use of the card, I haven't used mine for a while but no doubt will this weekend when DGD2 and I go out. She wants me to take her round the CS's for textiles, I don't think she realises how expensive they are! I do know of a little place we can go though so hopefully will get what she wants quite cheaply.

Ladyhawk thank you, they're such a worry! (as are the v.e.t bills but that sounds mercenary). It's my DSis who lives in that area, but 'your' house must be much posher though as she doesn't have an elec garage ;)

I vote we all donate one week's Reverbes to Ladyhawk's deposit fund :D so she can leave the place she's in now and move to her new one

    Nighty night
    S :)

hello, will post my Friday pleasures early! It's still 37o at 5.25pm
    1.Well, it's Friday ! Hurrah!
2.Beautiful morning again, wee nip in the air, lovely sunrise & 6 hot air balloons in the sky.
3.Went supermarket shopping after work. I had 20 items which came to $40.00. Lady at till (who was training) called for a supervisor as she must have done something wrong for it to have came to that total for as many things.......er, no.....I just watch what I'm spending.
4.Driving home in rush hour traffic ,stuck behind a lorry so I couldn't see why traffic was so slow. There had been an accident. The pleasure? I was listening to my new to me Beethoven CD (from Op shop) , so I just sat with my aircon on & my music flowing around me.
5.Well I suppose having DD2 home should be considered a pleasure but oh my! she has not shut up since she got home! Obviously has 3 days worth of talking to do!

I'm glad the working week is over & looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Been a shock to my system getting up early again....new role starts next week, so lots of challenges there.

DS has obviously missed his little sister, they are yakking away in the kitchen ! Nice to hear them chatter.
