1.Seeing hot air balloons in the sky on my way to work, just stunning. The view must be amazing from up there....just not for me thank you!
2.Peace & quiet with DD2 away.....will be nice to see her tomorrow though!
3.Had an industrious half hour when I got home, hoovered, ironed & tidied kitchen.
4.Lazy bones chips for tea! Far too hot for me to cook!
5.Enjoying this time of night (8.30pm) almost dark, crickets being noisy & birds coming home to roost (they make the most cacophonous chatter. Slight breeze coming through front door. Had been very hot & humid today & the next few days are mid 30's ......oh no! However, there's a change in the air as autumn approaches, darker in mornings & trees starting to turn colours.

Have a fabulous Thursday whatever you're up to & I'll read all about in my tomorrow!
    5.

    1. Postie brought me a letter from my new car ins co asking for a copy of my drivers licence. Never had this before so I phoned them to ask why. Apparently it's now normal to randomly ask to see them. Apologised to the call centre op for bothering him and got another £20 knocked off my quote - which was £122 cheaper than last year's anyway :T

    2. Gas and elec bills in for the Winter months arrived. Sat down with a cuppa to open them, with great trepidation I might add. Nearly spat the tea over the letter when I read that they owe me almost £130, or rather they did owe me, it's on it's way back into my bank :T

    3. Not really OS but could have cost a lot, muttley's not been eating for a couple of days and his coat is looking really scruffy, so cooked him some chicken and rice and he's perked up no end. I so empathise with anyone who has a poorly pet, and hope they all get well now :)

    4. Excited that my 3 dearest friends are coming for the day next week, organising an OS, gluten free, low fat menu for lunch is certainly taxing me but am getting a lot of enjoyment from the planning :D

    5. Two hours in the garden this morning, an hour this afternoon and it's looking much neater now, even if a lot of the time was chatting to my DNeighbour when she came home for her lunch break. I have snowdrops and crocuses in bloom, daffodils, forget-me-nots and bluebells well on their way, 4 hanging baskets of pansies perking up after the cold and wet, and lots of buds on the shrubs and trees. All is well in my pocket handkerchief world :D

    Oh, a 6th. nsd/npd :)

Have a good rest of the day

A truly glorious Thursday and my five for the day are:-

    1. Three loads of washing out on the line drying in the sun.

    2. Cleaned the conservatory out, opened the doors and gave it a good airing. The washing from the line is now airing off in there as the inside temperature got up to 27degrees!

    3. Had the windows opened in the house until about 3.30pm.

    4. Cut the lawns front and back and swept up!

5 Sat in the chair in the sitting room having five minutes to myself with the sun on my face. Spring is on it's way and I like these kind of days x
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D
  • hey everyone my 5 for today

    1. Lovely sunny warm day & day off work :j
    2. Got lots of washing done and dried outside

    3. Went for a walk round pond & dropped of bag of glass in bottle bank on the way. Called into the CO-0p and got lots of yellow sticker/reduced to clear food including southern fried chicken reduced from £4 to £2.50 ....bought 2 :D as much cheaper than Kfsee.

    4. Friend came round for coffee and chat

    5. Made chilli beef casserole for tea and flapjack this afternoon.

My baking skills are not great :o and every recipe I try for flapjack is either dry and crumbly or too soft to slice....but came out nearly perfect today :j

5 for today so far (Thursday).

    1) Waking up with OH - 4th day in a row!

    2) Went to see my counsellor and it went pretty well. Also talked to OH last night (OK, in the middle of the night!) about a few issues which helped.

    3) Watched Holby City.

    4) Took the boys to the forest after school as the weather has been so good. Took a flask and some cakes.

    5) Tasty tea of pasta, brocolli and little bits of last night's gammon.

    6) Going to try for an early night; will put iplayer on.

    7) My friend from Sixth Form was due to have a skin cancer removed today and a biopsy taken but the hospital had a look at it is shrinking. So she just has to go back every month to have it photographed to see how quickly it is going and hopefully she won't need any treatment at all! :-)

Great news about your friend Frith :)

    1. Enjoyed the glorious sunshine

    2. When we got home, DD and I both had a bath/shower and changed into summery clothes to go and visit a friend

    3. Met friend's lovely doggies and had a great chat with her and lots of fussing of the doggies

    4. My end of year review was great and so was the payrise! :)

    5. Not much of a pleasure, but I now have a date for my first operation - 6 days after we move!! Glad that it's going to be out of the way.....and trying not to worry about it too much as it's only a smallish one this time. So pleased we're moving to the bungalow, it's come at the perfect time :)
  • Good evening all !

Frith- that is such good news about your friend ! My sister has had two operations on her face to remove skin cancer within the last year . They had to dig deep to get the little bleeders out , but she used bio oil and her face is barely scarred.

sparrer- I did smile when I read your post x I had a hunch that you would be in your garden today, and yes , all is well with the world when you are :)

CCP - I have not started painting the dining room with a chicken.... yet . I did laugh at your post .

    5 for today

    1. Glorious sunshine in Costa del Sussex , I am so glad I am on leave and can enjoy it :)

    2. As my garden is still like The Somme my Mum who lives next door , and has lush green grass in her garden...said that she didn't mind if the hens came over to root around in her garden for the afternoon.Which they did, although they were really scared about being in a strange place .

    3. Old hen who is really looking her age since the granulomas were diagnosed in her throat , had a snooze in the sun lying in my Mums snowdrops . I wish I had taken a photo as I feel that she is slowly fading and there is naff all I can do about it .Still I think that she is still happy at the moment and had a good afternoon .

4.OH and I went at at a "famous" fish and chip restaurant and used the tastecard to get 50% off of the food bill. Thanks Sparrer ;). Had a limp (instead of a walk- as this is what I do) in the town with OH as it was such a lovely day.
5.Did a Reverbe and found a dirty old 1p on top of my compost bin lid ???? Mystery solved , it was my Mum that put it there as she found it in my muddy trenches:rotfl:

Have a good evening all -I am going to do a swift half hour on my exercise bike .
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

:rotfl:hhhhmmm millie- looks like avoidance techniques may be covered in the next therapy session then?? You can't kid a kidder ;)

skintyetagain -sorry to hear about the uncertainty re your job x

    5 for today

    1. Choosing some paint for the dining room. Good brand , on offer too. The paint is called "French Grey" , well it would be really as "English Grey" sounds like a wet weekend in Bognor and "Scots Grey" is a type of chicken whilst "Irish Grey" sounds like a racehorse. It might just be plain old light grey ...I really do hope so.

2.Spent enough (!!) in Mr. T's to get £5 off the bill with a voucher. We do have enough food for a few weeks now though.

3.Chatting to my niece on FB -she is hilarious , if not a tad cheeky .

4.I have eaten a whole packet of chocolate digestives today (not a small packet, I might add) and I don't care :D .

5.OH cooked a variety of rtc mushrooms in a cream, madeira
and shallot sauce with black and white wild rice :) Yum

Have a good evening all x

First thing we did on moving here 5 years ago as it was asort of baby elephant pink and we all hated that.
