Thanks Chickenopolis, Kittikins and Sparrer. I read your posts this morning before I went out and burst into tears.
So they were lovely and hit the spot if you see what I mean. I'm a touch fragile!:o Chicken, that's such a good reminder about my treats tin which is looking very empty atm. However, I still have a DVD in there that I haven't yet watched and I think that it might just fit the bill for tomorrow night.
SFO. what rotten news. Hope that the right person appears very, very soon.
Meant to post yesterday, VJsmum, that I'm so pleased about your dad.
Heigh ho. Five for Saturday.
1. Got myself out of the house, drove into town, used my free garage place and had a good walk in the sunshine to the place I needed to go. I took the back streets which made it much more interesting and quieter.
2. Met up with several people I hadn't seen in ages, including the really lovely parents of one of DS1's friends so it was good to spend time with them.
3. Walked back through town with DS1 who was happy and chatty the whole way so that was good time to spend together.
4. Sorted out with DS1 when we got in that I'd have an hour's sleep and he'd get the kitchen tidied and dregs of washing up done which he did.:T
5. And that meant that I had a clean kitchen to make supper - puy lentil and aubergine base topped with mashed spuds and grated cheese. It tasted really nice and I didn't burn it! DS2 even ate his whole plateful when he got in and he is someone who complains about aubergine normally.
Am off to bed in a moment with a hottie since it's got a bit chilly here tonight. After seeing the gas bill yesterday, the heating has absolutely got to stay off unless we are in danger of hypothermia.
Sleep well,

Sfo poor you. Same happened to us years back, day of exchange and there's bogall you can do. I feel your pain!!! Broomstick, a treats tin sounds a fab idea. Hugs to all, here's my five before i turn into a pumpkin ( ok who was the cheeky monkey who said too late?!)
1) heard ad on radio on way to lidl to say morrisons offering a stonking 15p per litre off fuel so decided on detour. Saved £5.06 on diesel, remembered to get points on mr m fuel card, and diesel was already 1p less thatn tesco so really saved £5.46 :T
2) OH's fave tea (redbush with vanilla, only stocked in morrisons in dundee) was on special offer so bought 4 boxes. also bought other items not stocked at lidl (been shopping there since starting gc challenge 1st jan) so that's a few ticks of our to do list :A
3) washed the car with two bucket method, washing up liquid and a jay cloth. Very cheap, pretty quick (going for the fly lady it doesn't have to be perfect method) :T
4) just back from playing ceilidh for fundraiser. Won first prize in raffle - hamper of goodies. :j
5) Mid evening delicious curries served. Not sure if due to curry or because it's 4 days after biopsy or if it's the listerine but suddenly stitches fell out . Oh tongue feels soooooooo much more comfortable.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Dunddedoll - love Rooibos, but not with vanilla
Ladyhawk - love your optimism, re the heating.
THanks for the dad messages.
My feet are soooooo cold. Will need a hot water bottle cos they won't warm up on their own tonight
For today - which I guess is yesterday now
1. Lovely sunny morning again
2. DD washed the cars - she wants concert tickets but I've said she's got to earn it.
3. Went to fancy dress shop with DD as she (year 11!!) has to dress up for book day - thought we'd left that behind at primary school. Still, we now have a phantom of the opera costume (I know...)
4. WEnt to a colleagues surprise 50th birthday party, he seemed to appreciate that we'd gone
5. Have eaten rather too much cake today
Hope i get a bit of a lie in...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Old tractor good to see you
, hope you get the comp fixed asap
Ladyhawk poor mog, she's really going through it isn't she? Just hope the course of trammies helps
1. Picked DGD2 up to take her on her textiles hunt. She found a red skirt with a black lace overskirt, a super-white single sheet, a red silk negligee with black roses and a cream satin robe for less than £6. Shame she's going to cut them all up. I'll be interested to see the transformation into......?
2. Lunch in MacD's, had a wrap which was inexpensive and I quite enjoyed but I think she's growing out of fast food, as she had one too rather than a burger. Quelle horreur! My youngest DGD is growing too quickly!
3. In one of the cs's we visited I found a small earthenware dish which matches my set of cookware, for 50p. Had to buy it of course, it's just the right size for one.
4. Went into £land, they had the moisturiser my DM uses for, would you believe, £1?! Bought her 2 to take next time I visit
5. A friend in the fellowship phoned, organised lunch out after our usual meeting tomorrow to celebrate my 'birthdAAy'. (Now you know)
Sleep tight

Broomstick - hope you are feeling a bit better now xx0 -
Didn't get my lie in.
Coffee will be the order of the day. I know I went to a party but I only had two lemon and limes! I feel like I had about 5 pints!
Sparrer - guessed wrong. Well done you, what a fantastic achievement.
Lovely sunshine again - I may try to throw manure round my veg patch - lovely.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Happy birthday Sparrer, hope you have a lovely day & lots of hugs for everyone that needs one today!
Hmmm as I think of todays pleasures , it's been unbearably hot today but we've just had a thunderstorm so air is a little bit clearer.
1.Had a Sunday scone.
2.Much cheaper than usual Aldi shop. OH had defrosted his work fridge on Friday so came home with spread & cheese & milk so didn't need to buy those.
3.Enjoyed RTC pate on toast with salad for tea.
4.Pottered about the house & DD2 & I did some gardening,only 1 little spider & 1 cockroach experience all afternoon so that was do-able!
5.Bought RTC orchids which should last a few weeks.
6.Phone call to mum & sister.
There that's 6, almost bedtime ,then working week starts again!
Enjoy your Sunday x0 -
Happy birthday to Sparrer!:bdaycake:
My [STRIKE]five[/STRIKE] six today:
1. Lovely sunny day and a tiny daffodil poking through outside. hardly anything grows for me so thrilled to see it.
2. DH making a shepherd's pie for lunch (smells divine and I'm starving) and making pancakes for pud (we had them on Tues and boys wanted them again - who am I to say no!!)
3. I am on "official take it easy day"as I have yet another cold (3 months and counting
) and feeling really yukky. Still getting washing done etc but only essential tasks and lots of sitting about unusually for me.
4. Watched DS1 aged 7 read The Owl Babies to his little brother aged 5 on their bedroom floor. They didn't see me and I didn't want to spoil the moment. Made my heart sing. Makes a change from the usual play fighting and farts/burps/bums/snot jokes!
5. Looking forward to watching Call the Midwife later, perfect for a Sun eve
6. Black Cat (as opposed to Stripy Cat) sat on my lap this morning while I read the paper and had a big milky coffee in peace and quiet this morning.
Aren't simple pleasures the best? big sigh
Hope you are all having a good day. Hugs if not. Take care
sq:)
ps just worked out how to do[STRIKE] this[/STRIKE] this. Signature next. Woo hoo! Might even advance to using Facebook (over rated apparantly)! :rotfl:0 -
Chickenopolis - Our elderly cats are pooing everywhere - front and back gardens and whilst I won't dream of passing the problem onto another 'innocent' garden, I would like to restrict the poo zones so I can have a go at planting something edible this year and let the children play outside in the back garden. If I can do my own operation cat poo in back garden and leave front alone for my daily poo patrol (marching and a military style hat optional)
So to cut to the chase - could I please ask you what 'operation cat poo' involved?4. Thought I would have a go at planting some peas this year , so bought a
packet for 79p . As operation cat poo has been a success and my raised beds are
no longer used as giant cat litter trays.0
