DundeeDoll -now I get it ! 10,000 steps a day is a lot of roadkill pavement to coverStill jealous and amazed that we all remember when and where we found that dirty old penny .
OT- I hope that you are feeling better today ?
Ladyhawk - its horrible when your pet gets ill and then stressed about taking the medicationI hope he gets better soon.

DundeeDoll, thank you so much. I'm convinced. I'm going to get one of those pedometers. The reviews look good, it's reduced and it looks very simple to operate. I shall have no excuses about moving a bit more. :T
My five for Wednesday:
1. Got someone to agree to sort out paying some expenses that didn't get paid last summer and I've only just realised.
2. Got a big refund on something that had broken. That will help pay for fuel for the car this month!
3. Put a piece of writing in the post.
4. Sitting catching up with DS1 on his day when he came back home. It's so pleasant just to sit and chat.
5. Really clear sky, moon and stars tonight.
Sleep well,
B x0 -
What a glorious day!
1. Went to CHeltenham on the train with my marking. Didn't see much of Cheltenham, mind, my marking and I went for a coffee and then got back on the train. But I got it done and (shhhhhh - whisper) I havent' got any left
2. Saw blossom on the trees and everything beginning to bud, warmth in the sun and a blue sky.
3. Freezer surprise for tea that was like a gourmet meal - to think some would have just chucked all that away. Lovely, lovely salmon salad for lunch - it must be nearly spring if I have abandoned soup for salad.
4. A good meeting with a student, he seemed to appreciate the help and advice about his dissertation. One to ones with students are my favourite thing about work. Mind you, it is unlikely he'll listen to a word i say - he was all fired up when he left but has only got about a month left until he hands it in.
5. Bought DS birthday pressie that he wanted from the Aston VIlla shop. Everything is half price and I saved about £30! Unfortunately he wanted the player with the longest name printed on the back!
March tomorrow :TI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
evening all,
Please excuse my typing tonight... I have a lap full of of a very spaced out cat. Poor boy!
Long day today... but its been good,
1) Pay day
2) NSD - 4th in 5 days
3) realising that I cant afford yhe house I have the offer in on, and though it makes me sad as I think I would have been happy there, I am ok with it.
4) having a good meeting with one of my suppliers this afternoon. I get on really well with them and it wasnt a particular serious meeting so we had a laugh
5) long drive home but there was a beautiful sunset
6) yummy left overs for supper
night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
5 or so for today (Wednesday)
1) Both boys off to school happily.
2) Went into town as my brother needed a B and Q run. Shut my unused bank account and there was £20 in it!
3) Did a couple of charity shops at top speed (as brother was waiting for me outside B and Q) and found a Bodum cafetiere that OH has been looking for at £2.
4) Then got a phone call from school that smaller son was sinking fast so picked him up again. He'd been at school for about 45 minutes... Once home we spent a pleasant day together, cooking, watching Top Gear, playing rugby. Not really very ill, then!
5) Texts from OH. This is the week he has his boys with him (he has them 50% of the time) so texts are more important as we don't see him.
6) Tasty tea of gammon (always popular in this house), roast potatoes, roast red peppers as I had a bag of cheap peppers from Sainsburys and asparagus.
7) Text this afternoon from my friend who went in for surgery this morning. Didn't expect to hear from her for a few days but she is OK, if not very comfortable.0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. Poached egg on toast for breakfast, yummy
2. Took lunch to work with me and managed to add a free bowl of salad to it as left over from a meeting
3. Getting a horrible spreadsheet completed at work was to do with recharge so no one wanted to give me any info but got there eventually through fair means and foul:D
4. Not MSE but got my hair cut and coloured after work as was starting to get the badger look. Did manage to get a 10% discount and was given a small glass of wine whilst there
5. Ordered DD a new outfit from H&M using discount codes from the site. It worked out cheaper for the top and leggings that the top was going to cost :money:
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Hello hello all, waves sheepishly poking head around the door, sorry I’ve not been on in between working my husband and I have had a terrible lergy that doesn’t seem to want to budge, so when I get back we eat I haven’t logged on for a while as slept a lot.:o
The job has been lovely well it is lovely, I received bad news over the weekend that everyone who works for a particular consultancy is redundant, guess who I am through! Can you believe it,:( I know it sounds very selfish but at least it’s not personal as there are lots of people affected I feel bad for writing and for even thinking it. And it has been vital in being there when we needed it most of all.
I was straight back onto the job market and I’ve got a couple of interviews that obviously I have absolutely everything crossed for yet again.:)
It would be easy to be down about things a few other things going on my dad’s seriously ill in hospital and we have been very ill as well so not allowed to see him, but for some bizarre reason I’m not letting it get us down, I like spring and longer days and just feeling positive I hope I can keep it up, may need some help thou I suspect.;)
1. Lovely warm sunshine
2. Confirmation of a lovely interview, and the one I really would love I have everything crossed to hear about tomorrow.
3. Made some banana and walnut cake but apparently it’s err rock cake.
4. Writing this with a lovely fluffy throw around me.
5. Reading an easy read no particular thought needed book to get me reading again.
6. Looking forward reading up posts on here :j
Have a fantastic time moving to your new place Kittikins, what a great time.0 -
