Hugs Frith and Skint yet Again, hope you both get a good night's sleep and feel happier in the morning x
Thanks x am feeling better today... touch of "February blues" I think, also feeling that theres too much month left at the end of the moneyAll bills are paid. Fridge & freezer etc full of food enough to last to end of month. Bit of spare cash for petrol. Why am I panicking that its only the 18th of the month ?
todays 5:
1. managed to get my bedroom tidied, clothes sorted, decorating stuff finally put away (decorated last year !!).Bathroom cleaned. Just need to hoover then all ship-shape upstairs
2. Popped round to friends house and enjoyed a few hours chat and free heat from her log burner.Still fairly mild here until it started raining about 2pm, but supposed to get cold later. Heating just come on at home.
3. Friend baked chocolate brownie muffins whilst I was there and she let me test them ....yum
4. House/kitchen is still tidy as DS slept at friends last night and has only just arrived home
5. DS has made me a cup of tea without moaning too much. (Asked him if he had a good time at friends, got a grunt in response.)

Skint yet Again - that sounds like a better day xx ...and there are far worse jobs than testing choc brownie muffins!! Yum
Sparrer- they filmed Hustle in the labs at work a couple of years back. I was teaching in the next lab, so got to watch the filming and kept bumping into the actors. I don't watch it though! Criminal!
Mine for today
1. Managed to dodge the rain this morning at the yard. Also managed to dodge Feeb's front feet when she reared on me. Grrrrr. Oldie was on her usual form!!
2. Had toasted soda bread for breccie with real, salted butter- small pleasure, but it was yummy!!
3. Took the mothership out to get a birthday pressie for her friend, she managed to get a bargain pressie and I have offered to make her a necklace to go with it
4. Mothership treated me to lunch- only a salad, but it was nice. Oh and some garlic bread (it's the future :snigger:)
5. GSD is being an utter PITA, this counts as a pleasure as it was 2 weeks ago today that she first became ill!! She is also eating us out of house and home and has earned the new nickname Augustus (Gloop)
...speaking of which, I am watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory- ok it is not the "proper" one, but better than the rest of the rubbish that is on at the moment. Just trying to summon the energy to make something crafty....
Hugs to anyone in need xx0 -

Hiya.
My five for Saturday:
1. Electrician visited first thing so the house had been got pretty clean and tidy beforehand. Looks as though we will get a new kitchen light fitting which should reduce the number of bulbs that blow after only a day or two of use. It had been proving so expensive we'd stopped using certain lights. Hopefully, it will soon be fixed and we will have lights again in the evening.
2. Did a mega, would-make-Flylady-proud, shining of my kitchen sink after he left. I did it properly and it is gleaming which is very cheering up.:)
3. Lots of quiet time today because both sons seem to have got the coldy bug now and they spent a huge amount of the day in bed. DS1 hasn't really got up at all but is happy to be visited to chat (even more) about his week away.:D
4. Had a good afternoon nap myself as well.
5. Happening to catch the Radio 4 'Soul Music' programme on Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto as I was waking up.
Have lovely evenings and sleep well,

Agh, *insert swearword* GSD is being an utter pest- I swear she is making up for 2 weeks of being quiet. She will lie down for about 3 minutes, then is up again, shoving her nose in my face and tail wagging. Repeat. She's been fed, walked, fussed, I think she just wants to be a PITA.
Might post her thru the 'rents door and do a runner......0 -
Aha have worked out PITA
1) Beautiful morning, put laundry on, went back to bed to finish library book then put laundry on line and 2nd load on, then long soak in bath by which time load 1 was dry:D
2) Trotted off to renew library book that was due back to today (and returned the one I finished)
3) Got given half a very nice burger by woman standing outside Ketchup, my fave burger joint in Dundee. She was handing out 'samples' and vouchers :P
4) Got back just before spring was replaced by winter - hail and bitter wind (they do say in Scotland if you don't like the weather just wait half an hour!). 2nd load wasn't quite dry so finished it off in TD
5) Went to Mr T with mum to buy wrapping paper for my sister's birthday (it's not till next month but we're driving down tomorrow for FIL's funeral and stopping with my sister who lives quite close to MIL, so saving postage by being super-organised). Mr T had Christmas paper with NO PEEPING written on it down to 50p for 4m(not Christmassy Christmas paper at all yay). Also managed to get YS extra thin liners which will hopefully prolong my converse a bit longer.

Evening all,
I've had a really interesting day today. I was at work and had offered to help interview people for some roles we are recruiting for. Though they were mainly entry level roles some of the people I interviewed were fascinating and really lovely. The last lady I interviewed was so excited when I offered her a job... it was lovely.
1) Woke up late (oops) and was still snoozing when I should have been on my way to the train station... if not on the train! I called our lovely facilities manager and he very kindly offered to arrange for parking for me so I wizzed down the motorway and made it on time.
2) Went to view two properties which are next to each other.... and I LOVE them!!!!!! I think that I can see myself in the end one. It needs lots of decorative work but I think I could make it work. I have emailed my IFA to see if I can afford it. I think that it is right on my upper limit. My DB1 and SIL came with my to view it and they also felt the warm fuzzy feeling from the house. So that's all very exciting. The funny thing is that I really wasn't bother about seeing them and only went along because my SIL suggested it.
3) Cuddles with my nephew. Poor little sausage has Hand Foot and Mouth at the moment so is not feeling 100% but he was very chirpy
4) Meeting so many interesting people at work today
Don't think I have a number 5.... suppose it will be that I feel very content today.
Sleep well
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Millie I've never seen a programme being filmed on location, did go a television studio many moons ago to see TOTP when Billy J Kramer (who? I hear you ask) was appearing. Perhaps I should put something like that on my 2012 to do list. Ha ha to Gem, you've got to love GSD's even when they're a pain. She's certainly full of herself
Bek hope the oat bath helped, a friend puts rolled oats into a stocking and lets the hot water run through it for her LO who has eczema, and it really works for him.
1. Had the second half of a rtc rack of ribs for lunch with some sprout tops, cost about 66p, plus a sf jelly for pud, cost 4p max, and felt like I'd eaten very well
2. nsd/npd
3. The clothes dyeing came out well, just finished the ironing and I now have four pairs black trousers, two crew necks and a cardigan all with a new lease of life
4. No heating on this evening, still quite mild although it's forecast to get cooler. It did drizzle a bit pm so unable to do any gardening, however I did wash my gardening gloves and tidied the shelves in the shed
5. Postie brought me a gift voucher for £5 for a comp I entered at the local furniture bank when I bought some ramekins a while back. Will give it back so someone worse off can benefit from it
Sweet dreams

Evening all. Chilly here now and snow, snow at last! Not had any all winter (apart from 1 or 2 days last year). It won't last though. Aaaanyway, my pleasures are exactly the same as last weekend's I think, apart from the snow.
1. Beautiful sunny morning (it wasn't snowing at this point) - met with friends and had lovely run in the woods
2. Went for a tea afterwards and had a really good giggle
3. I stopped at the charity shop which is on the way home. Found a lovely pair of brand new curtains and a photo frame which is just the right size and ideal for a print I got as a present. And had a good laugh at the till with the assistants, one of which was being dizzy. Too much to explain but was funny!
4. Came back and had nice long bath
5. It snowed! :j0
