hello from Pleasantville: the air has cleared & it has been a thoroughly fine day, dry but just not hot!

1.Mega busy day at work & did an extra 2 hours & came home with some left over food from a lunch, so that did tea.

2.I had a nice walk all by myself to post a letter, popped into DD1's work & picked up some items on special offer & a bar of chocolate(was on special but now feel sick !)

3.Being glad I got petrol just before midnight last night, it had jumped up 20 cents (14p) a litre overnight.

4.I had a lovely night with friends last night, we sat & blethered & didn't realise it was so late.

    5. seeing a beautiful flower today on a bush & just thinking how lovely!

So hope it's mild where you are & you have a good Friday.
  • My five for yesterday are

    1. Seeing a large flock of birds flying around and then landing in trees and then flying again.

    2. Having a hat with a friend while walking my dog.

    3. Started tidying DS2 bedroom - I can now see the carpet!

    4. Went to London with DH and went to see chicago. We asked at about 5pm whether tickets were availiable and managed to get £66 foe £36 and we had £40 theatre tokens so the evening was relatively cheap. I really enjoyed it and it was worth the money.

    5. Catching our (free) train home and not having to wait for it.

    Hi Everyone,

mhagster : It is nice and mild here today, but set to get cold over the weekend. Keep sending us warm thoughts from Oz!

    5 for Wednesday

    1. Trip to London with DS2. (Half term sp. offer with London Midland). I didn'nt want to drive and he wanted to go on a train, so it was a great treat for us both!

    2. Science Museum again! DS2 wanted to see the pod which transported the Chilean miners to safety. We also managed to see some exhibits we had not seen before. DS2 spent ages flushing a toilet to see how it worked :rotfl:. We also did the 4D Apolo trip. (50% off with our Art Fund Card).

    3. Museum Cafe turned out to be better than expected. We shared a giant piece of choc cake. DS2 had a coke which was surely dearer than Gold . I had a pot of tea, and bravely asked for extra water, which lasted for ages........ I sat on the balcony watching the world go by while DS2 scoured the shop for a souvenir.

    4. DD met us at the Museum and we went to Nandos to eat. Lovely to see her as she won't be coming home for her reading week. We had cards for free chickens, so got 2 full chickens, and DD took the remainder home in a Doggie bag.

    5. Very worried about DD's money situation ATM. She has'nt found a PT job so bought her some groceries on the way to the station and handed over the proceeds of a couple of EBay sales I have made selling her stuff.

    Thurs

    1. Good news from DD to say that one of the funding applicatons she made earlier in the year has awarded her some money! :T Its from SportsAid, and includes a presentation at the Olymic Stadium and a tour of the site. I'm so pleased for her. She didn't get chosen to carry the Olympic flame, so this is a bit of good news for a change! :D

    2. Good couponing day. Always cheers me up. (My aim this week has been to cover the cost of our day in London by making coupon savings!). £9 saved today! :money:
    3. Made some progress with housework. I have been soooooo tired this week.

    4. Made nice curry for supper using rubber chicken. DH has taken leftovers for lunch today.

    5. Managed a good nights sleep thanks to Ibruprophen and electric blanket. (Mattress at cheap Travelodge last Friday has given me a bad back all week! Perhaps not such a great bargain after all :o).

    Have a great day! HE

Does the new chicken Chateau have a name? How exciting :D
fancied a treat and as I have not resorted to buying a take away so far this
year so a nice piece of fillet steak would suffice. It has

Gem offered to help you out with any leftovers... :D

Happy Friday everyone- mine for today

    1. Therapeeeee this morning- bit of a dull session, but think I am a bit emotionally tired after this past week or so. Lady was as wise as usual :)
    2. No work (ok I have marking to do this weekend, but that doesn't count *cough*). OH was also off, so he took me out to lunch to my fave Thai place- bargain- 2x courses each, sparkling water for him, glass of wine for me, £19 - and the food is amazing!! And he paid- even better!!
    3. I then made the mistake of taking him to the supermarket- he's worse than the average toddler - "want, neeeeeeed". So I sent him off to poundland to get some superglue. Don't actually need superglue, but it was the first thing that came to mind. He bought a load of additional tat in £land, but at least I managed to shop in peace!! Bought GSD a snoopy treat jar RTC in Asda- this pleased me as I used to be snoopy obsessed when I was little. GSD keeps trying to knock the top of said treat jar, if she breaks it, her !!! is grass
    4. The bunnies have been free range and had lots of fun playing. Arthur kept dong these funny leaps in the air, with a 180 degree turn
    5. I am really getting into my current book-donated by the mothership and a charidee shop buy. I don't normally "do" books, due to my toddler like attention span. Can't remember the title though, due to my goldfish-like memory, but hey, it's good!!

Hugs and get well vibes to anyone in need xx

    Evening all.

I'm feeling a little irritable this evening having discovered that I've spent the past three days peering desperately at my phone for medical test results for nothing - the nurse told me the doctor would phone within a couple of days, but apparently she only works two days a week and won't phone me until Tuesday at the earliest.

    Anyway, pleasures:

    1) A gorgeous tortoiseshell cat who threw himself at me from the opposite side of the road, and gave the distinct impression that he would happily stay purring around my legs all evening given the choice. :)

    2) I came home to discover I'd left the freezer door slightly ajar, but nearly everything is still frozen. (The only exception is a LO portion of pork in mustard sauce, which I can't decide whether to throw or keep - I'm not sure if it was frozen and defrosted (in which case it should go) or whether it never froze in the first place, having only gone in the freezer this morning (in which case I think it should be fine)).

    3) I discovered that a local shop has started selling a small selection of Minghella ice cream (an Isle of Wight speciality, for those who haven't come across it), so I treated myself to a tub of my favourite black cherry and kirsch flavour. (That's not at all OS, given the eye-watering price of the stuff, but I figured I deserved a treat after a lousy week.)

    4) Planning a lazy evening this evening, reading through the new Jamie Oliver books I got very cheap from the work book club.

    5) It's Friday. :D

    Have a pleasant evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Sounds very much like some Cornish ice cream that I love... Enjoy :) (have ice cream envy now) :D

Of course , I would have offered to save some for Gem , but my Mum joined us and brought Miss. Barker (her dog) over who just happened to sit under the table with her head pressed against my legs to "remind" me of her presence ...:rotfl:I only have to say "are you going over (my name) " and she goes frantic.

No shame in seeing a therapist - it helps to stop the "stinkin' thinkin". I lost the plot at work once, years ago big style as I witnessed something too horrific to say on here and wasn't debriefed following this event. This triggered off some other lovely stuff of a similar nature, shoved away in my subconscious cupboard of c*ap.It all linked in. Therapist was fab! Keep going- even if you feel like hell afterwards initially x

OT - oooh is lbh roaming the vast corridors of the new Chicken Chateau yet ? I think that she has won the lottery x

sparrer -your new hair sounds nice :D

    5 for today

    1. Day off - I am still getting used to having Fridays off .

    2. Went shopping at Mr. T's and used the £5 off £40 coupon - got loads of easter eggs for my numerous nieces, nephews and great nephews . These are all stored at my Mums as OH has been known to eat them all. Stealing candy from kids eh?

    3. Henry the hen barged her way out of the gate to follow me when I went out to get the recycling bin in . She is like a little orange dog , who has absolutely no fear.

    4. Took a tiny afternoon snooze with a hot water bottle behind my back - luxury (Ladyhawk;))

    5. Carbonara (emphasis on the carb bit) for tea. I ate mine and most of OH's:)

Off to watch a film in bed ..not that type of film millie !!!That OH downloaded from The Sunday Times (freebie) on the ipad . I am not holding it up though -he can :D

Have a good evening all !!
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
