    Evening Ladies,

Chicken - am very envious of your nooze.
Sparrer - its been lovely in our neck of the wood the last few days. Pity it won't last though they did say that we wouldn't get snow this weekend.

    1) Had quite an important audit today, which went fairly well.... luckily!

    2) Took my car in to get the new alloys fitted. I was going to take it to the place I normally go which is in a town close to where I live, but decided to try the place opposite my office... they were £5 per tyre cheaper and so much more convenient! They also recommended that I take one of my tyres back to VW as it clearly had been fitted incorrectly then they sold it to me. So thats booked for next week

    3) Spoken to my nice SIL this evening. My poor nephew has Hand Foot and Mouth... poor little sausage. Anyway SIL has agreed to come and look at a house with me tomorrow.

    4) The vet told me to keep Kitty in until next week, which I have done. He hasn't had a litter tray for ober 4 years, but he remembered how to use it so I didn't come home to a mess

    5) Think I am going to bake something tonight.... not sure what though...

    Night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
  • Feeling a bit down in the dumps today, am beginning to wonder if I have S.A.D. I feel so much better and full of energy when sun is out. Anyway, still got quite a bit done today:

    1. gave kitchen good clean, worktops, cupboards, floor and managed to hoover all round downstairs

    2. Grey day today but still mild so cant complain. Heating is off :)

    3. Did weekly shop early....(usually a1di on mondays but have to stay in this monday for Virginmedia- if they turn up)...and managed to stick to budget and have hidden goodies from DS otherwise he will eat everything over weekend.

    4. DS has gone to stay at friends house tonight so I had a lazy meat free tea of egg and chips ...yum

    5. Am sat with a glass of wine listening to my favourite CD which my sister bought me for xmas and chillin :D

  • chicken- Miss Barker!! What a fab name :)

And pmsl at the film! I was going to download some onto the iPad, but not sure how it would work. I have a date with Norman Bates :shudder:

And re. The therapist, she is about 103, but she is fab. Funny session today that caused me to internally giggle inappropriately, can't say much on here, she probably knew I was internally giggling inappropriately and has chalked up yet another developmental stage unsuccessfully negotiated. Mwahahah

Evenin all! I have to sit up as DD is at her first teenage party and needs picking up at midnight (otherwise she'll turn into a pumpkin :rotfl:). OH is no use as he's been on the beer all day and is snoring his head off in bed. Strange day - going here, there and everywhere but here goes

    1. Lovely lazy morning - had a good soak in bath
    2. Lovely coffee and catch up with friend who has been away all week
    3. DS won "goalkeeper of the week" award at soccer school
    4. Took DS and DD out for lunch / tea - the first time the three of us have done anything together this week.
    5. DD looking beautiful for her first grown up party. She's really developed in her looks and her own individual style - she doesn't follow the pack but still looks great. Proud mum - sorry :D

I think I may sleep in the spare room cos old snorey chops ain't gonna budge when I kick him tonight! I'll be on soccer duty tomorrow cos I don't think he'll be fit to drive.

    Ciao bellas
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Feeling a bit down today, which is silly as nothing has gone wrong. Here are my pleasures:

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Stayed in bed and played on the laptop with smaller son.

    3) Mum popped by.

    4) Tasty lunch. We had some wholemeal muffins to use up (reduced from Sainsburys) so put chicken slices on, red peppers strips and a bit of cheese and grilled them. Had them with some grapes and cherries.

    5) Went to see the Muppet movie at the cinema. Thought the boys wouldn't like it as they had no idea who the Muppets are! But they loved it. I felt very nostalgic and, when the theme music played half way through the film (can't give the plot away!), nearly every adult in the cinema sang along!

    6) Tidied the wardrobe out (ready for "new" one coming from British Heart Foundation) then realised if I bagged up all smaller son's jumpers that are grotty/too small, it left him with one! So we popped into Sainsburys before the cinema and got him a lovely new one.

    7) Made roast chicken for tea.

    8) Enough chicken left for a stir fry or curry tomorrow.

    9) Just boiled up the bones and have made chicken, carrot and lentil soup. Loads of it, too!

    10) Sister popped in with some flowers to say thank you for when I assembled her wardrobe the other day.

    11) Bigger son did his SAT's paper homework. There was a question he couldn't do (that I couldn't do) so I shall ask OH as he has the maths A levels I am lacking.

    12) Smaller son (not much concentration) spent a good 2 hours colouring in some posters that my sister bought him. That's unheard of. :-)

Hugs Frith and Skint yet Again, hope you both get a good night's sleep and feel happier in the morning x

So pleased you had a good time at the Muppets movie, I may have to buy it for DD later in the year, I could definitely watch it again (and again) :)

    1. Today has been a strange yet brilliant day - first thing this morning, it looked like the house sale/purchase could be potentially off, due to the finance situation I've been stressing about, then it was back on, then exchange was going to be Tuesday, then today, then Monday!! But I'm assured it WILL happen for sure on Monday :)

    2. I had a phone call from the hospital about my operation offering me a date the day before we move house!! I declined but have the pre-op booked in for a week after we move and then the op will be sometime in April, or possibly March. Gulp..........good but also a bit scary

    3. NSD

    4. OH was a good taskmaster and helped/nagged me to do more packing, then once I'd dropped him back home, I stopped!! naughty me.....

    5. Went out to a community/church charity partnership start up meeting tonight, it was fabulous, great to see police officers and local charities and a group of churches getting together to make a difference. And I also saw lots of friends :)

    6. This is the most amazing one, I walked down a big flight of stairs completely properly and without holding on to the banister! I feel like calling the papers I'm so excited I did it :) Kind of makes me not want to have my operation but I know this progress is early days...yay, I'm so happy :)

    Evening all :)
oldtractor I'll see what I can do, took me ages to get a photo of the dog on, will have to read the destructions all over again!
Ladyhawk ah well as long as the snow stays away I'm (reasonably) happy. Good luck with the house viewing tomorrow
CCP I remember Minghella's very well! In the 50's my Uncle had a seafood cafe, The Lobster Pot, in Bembridge (now incorportated into the Crab and Lobster Inn) where I was introduced to cream soda. We were occasionally allowed a scoop of ice cream in it as a treat if we were there when the van came round. Mind you there was only vanilla in those days :D. It's amazing how one word can bring back so much, thank you for that super memory :A

    1. Another nice day, time spent in the garden which is sorely in need of attention.

    2. nsd/npd. Not a good one this week, must try harder for the rest of the month :o

    3. DNeighbour locked herself out, between my drill and toolbox, and her OH's handywork, we saved her probably £50/75 on calling a locksmith out

    4. Postie brought me a little hardback book about plants, written so a child can understand it. it's now in the pressie stash

    5. Hustle. I do hope they make another series, it really is very clever, and great fun to watch

    Night night, sleep tight

Yes, Kittikins, your news in #6 brought a big smile to my face.:T

Got a bit distracted and forgot to post earlier. Still, here's my five pleasures for Friday:

    1. Another NSD.:D

    2. Getting quite a lot of tidying, cleaning and sorting done with the help of DS2, including my big work desk that had got very cluttered over this past week.

    3. Using my lovely new stainless steel water bottle for the first time when I had to go out. I think that our (tap) water tastes much better from it than it does from plastic bottles. I'm hooked.

    4. Reading over some writing I did a while back. After a good gap it still reads very well which is enormously encouraging and I want to get started on it again.

    5. Collecting DS1 who had come back from his week away. He talked non-stop for two hours, in the car, while I finished cooking supper, while we were eating supper and while he was getting ready to go to bed.:D:D It was lovely to listen to him downloading his week. I've really missed him :D

    Sweet dreams

Kittikins - great news about walking down stairs.

    1. Friend came round for coffee - hav't seen her for a while with work getting in way but good to catch up.

    2. Good bargains in Mr. A and weekly shop quite cheap and stuck to my list.

    3. Hustle - same that its probably last ever one.

    4. Tea of gammon, jacket potatoes and veg.

    5. DS2 coming home - he was very talkative and showed us photos - already on facebook.

Excellent news Kittikins. Late in last night so doing yesterday's now.
    1) Teaching was amazing (work not too good at the mo so this was a real lift)
    2) Finished a dissertation that's been taking all week (due to juggling too many things) so big tick
    3) Remembered to take sarnie in (finished teaching 12:55, started webinar 1:00 _pale_)
    4) DD2 found a flat for next year :T
    5) Had lovely meal out with friends. Unplanned (and more than today's spend in Lidl will be lol) but good fun. Money added to signature. Stew already prepared is now in freezer as OH away today and we're off to funeral down south tomorrow.
