Hope all the bugs and headaches go soon, hugs to everyone who needs or would just like one. Welcome more newbies, you're really going to like it here :)
Millie hope tomorrow there will be better news. Love the bit about your oldie, had to chuckle at the mental picture it formed. I occasionally had to call for help from DD when her evil creature teased me, but I'm 5 feet nothing and he was a 16.2 TB. A beautiful horse but oh, he didn't like me!

My 5 before an early night, got an early (for me) start in the morning to go to Essex. With apologies to anyone who's from there I wonder if I'll understand them cos I don't on the programme :o (with the exception of shu' up of course!)

    1. The day started well, porridge and exercise, so all good

    2. Went to Sunday lunchtime meeting, better

    3. Three ladies decided to go out for a late lunch and invited me. Started to go downhill...

    4. Couldn't help myself, had a roast beef/all the trimmings dinner. Every time I finished a slice of beef there was another one underneath it!

    5. Then there was pudding. I had just one profiterole, but it was the biggest profiterole I've ever seen!!

    6. The saving grace - plenty of beef from three of us to bring home for the furpets dinner

    7. The only MS bit, I didn't need any tea or supper

Not a very good record for the day I'm afraid, but have to admit I enjoyed every bit of it. Just now and then you have to have a treat, don't you? :)

Stay warm and safe, sleep tight
    S :)

Hello dundeedoll. I had no idea someone else had already got this name. Should I go for a change? Anyway, for now today's 5 pleasures are:
    1) Getting through first 14 tunes for ceilidh on 28th. Only another 13 to lick into shape...
    2) Lovely lunch with OH and friend up from London.
    3) Not knocking vicar off bicycle as we pulled away in the car to go to Edinburgh
    4) Seeing lovely DD1 and DD2 in Edinburgh.
    5) Buying a shiny red 2-slot toaster. Today has been heavy on the old GC (toaster and underblankets from John Lewis, coffee for us and DD1 at JL, supper for us and DDs)
Now home safely tucked up in bed xxx

    1. Bit of a spendy day as I bought various 'treats' for me and OH to eat and drink this week and also lots and lots of fruit

    2. My dad came to take DD up to theirs for half term, and she and I had lots of lovely cuddles before she went *sigh* will miss my little cutie, but that way I save holiday for when I really need it......

    3. Texts with OH :)

    4. Just back from a lovely evening at a friend's with another chum, drinking a bit of wine and eating tortilla chips, nomnom, oh and danced in the living room to cheesy disco tunes :)

    5. A lovely freecycler gave me a bedside cabinet this afternoonthat I can paint for DD's room when we move, or leave as wood if she prefers it that way. DD will be so excited :)

I just googled it and up it came. Wasn't expecting much but they are delish! (I made them without the icing)

Thank you I will have a go at making these tomorrow. :T
I have 2 bags of apples in fridge so as each recipe only uses 1 apple I may be baking a lot of muffins to use them up. Still DS will be pleased as he loves muffins, and it does say you can freeze them too. I also have some very ripe bananas to use up, so am gonna have a go at banana bread ...my baking skills are rubbish :o so will let you know how it goes.

Ampersand - Safe journey and have a wonderful time
  • It's a mild morning here in my neck of the woods in Hampshire, and as I'm having my morning coffee at my desk at work before getting stuck in, I thought I'd take a moment to reflect on some OS pleasures from yesterday:

    1. Did our grocery shop and, with some very careful list making and self-restraint, it was only £42

    2. Part of the reason our grocery shop was only £42 was that I had a £15 supermarket voucher, which I got after complaining about some poor quality produce and pricing errors - complaining does work when you have grounds!

    3. Visited a nearby charity shop and bought a really lovely clay jar with wonderful ancient Greek decoration - has been a museum gift shop piece, but I paid just £2. A real find, looks terrific on the shelf, and I will use it to save up coins I find lying around on the pavements during the coming year.

    4. Opened a forgotten bottle of pesto sauce for pasta at dinner - was six months past its BB, but tasted perfectly fine - in the past, I'd have thrown this out.

    5. Not really an OS pleasure, but got some excellent news about medical tests undergone by my gran - all is well and there is nothing to worry about - phew! :j

Have a terrific day everyone - and really loving all your posts.

hello. Monday evening here, has been a pleasant day, breezy and at times overcast, have just checked for rest of week & it's to get hot again :(......I know you lot are freezing & would love some sun but it's seriously over-rated!

1.Early start at work, excellent car park space, when I go in later I'm miles away! Worked with 3 of the new girls today & they are all most pleasant! Had a good start to the working week.

2.In early but home an hour earlier than I'd anticipated, so not too much to do for tea, lasagne made last night so just popped in oven & DS made a salad to go.

3.Needed a phone top up (all these calls home add up!) so went to next town, as at particular shop I get 10% off top-ups. Got 2 mega reduced bunches of flowers( carnations & greenery), they were 80% off original (over priced) price. And a $2 nail polish for DD2's birthday soon....these came to 10cents more than original top up would have been......not quite a NSD Broomstick, think I'm better at bargains than not spending.

4.Walk with husband via DD1's work ,which has special offers on this week, so topped up on shampoo & washing up liquid.....not to be confused!

5.We will get full bond (deposit) back from old house, it is finally not our problem & we should get money back in a few days. OH signed the necesarry forms tonight.

    Have a lovely Monday x

oops I'm so sorry dundeedoll :(, I will be more observant re caps/lower case. Of course I remember your interest in my holiday and thank you again for the subject of your pm. I can only put my lack of observation down to being an age thing, or I need to go to Sp4cs@vers!

    Right, better make a start.....

I must take notice of caps
    & etc..... :o

Just rushing off to work, but just want to say SORRY :o if I upset you sparrer :o

I was just pointing it out.......didn't mean to come across as patronising or whatever the correct term would be.

Here are my 5 for yesterday:

    1. Another beautiful sunny day with no wind so me and OH decided to go for a walk in the Cairngorms. It was breathtaking - walked close to a big loch and because there was no wind, the surrounding mountains were a perfect mirror image in the loch. Saw a big herd of red deer with some stags too!

    2. We sat at the summit of a hill overlooking Queen Victoria's former "bothy" (actually a gigantic mansion) across the loch, eating hm muffins (the carrot and apple ones nom nom), chocolate and a flask of tea

    3. Stopped for cheap chips on the way home and sat in the car eating them, watching the beautiful orange and rosy sunset

    4. Came home and spent the rest of the evening ebaying (free listing weekend).

    5. Lots of interest already in some of the items I listed
