Gem. carry on getting better and better! Millie, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

    I've been struggling today.

    1. Got some tidying done so the sitting room looks better than it did this morning.:)

    2. Watched a programme (well some of because I fell asleep again:eek:) on iplayer about Pompeii. I've never been and hadn't realised the site was so huge. Made me want to see it.

    3. Another NSD :) and obviously a NPD since I haven't even been outside to put the recycling in the bin.

    4. Mug of hot chocolate right now.:)

    5. Just had an email from DS1 giving a one line breakdown of his day with a promise to send a bigger email after supper. :T

    Have lovely evenings everyone.

    B x

Am late with food tonight but am about to cook wheat free pasta in cheese sauce for supper which DS2 will hate so I'll have to disguise it with some onion and sweetcorn and maybe tomato mixed in and grilled on top so he doesn't think it could possibly be related to macaroni cheese which he hates.:D;)
  • Thanks again all, I am so tired now, but will try for a quickie five for today...

    1. Lovely text from therapist this morning to say that she would be "with me" today and I wouldn't be alone - not literally, of course, but it helped hugely
    2. Better than expected vet visit with Gem :D:D - her bloods don't look good, but there is more hope than I first thought. She was soooo funny in the vets' - made a bee line for a random client (she normally runs the other way from people), I tried to get her to stay in the waiting room, but she kept dragging me to poke her head around the door and check out what was happening in reception- made the receptionists laugh- she is so nosy! Vet said she looks so much better than last week and does look in fine form for a 10yo GSD. I couldn't have said goodbye to her today when she was doing so well
    3. She is literally eating us out of house and home, making up for her lack of intake over the past week!
    4. Mum and Dad took me out for a pub lunch as I haven't been hungry for the past 10 days or so. Managed to eat something (Dad helped me out!)
    5. We have just built a mini adventure playground for the bunnies and they are enjoying exploring it- they are being very noisy though- running up and down their plastic "burrow"

Hugs to anyone in need and thank you all yet again for being so lovely xx

Millie - very glad to read that Gem is being chirpy and I hope the vet has now hit upon the winning formula x Wish you could find out how to put pictures, up I love GSDs, they're the best dogs in the world :):)

Bit of a bleugh day, I'm feeling quite low about the whole waiting to exchange on the house situation, with the bank telling me one thing, the IFA another, and noone seems to want to take full responsibility. What the heck is going on? I wish I knew.....Anyway, I'm sure that writing these pleasures will lift my spirits, it generally does :)

    1. Lovely chat with DD on the phone up at my parents this morning (shame she was in a funny mood this evening, I just wanted a chat with my beautiful girl but got her being daft and repeating everything I said which after 10 minutes was just slightly tiresome.......) but the pleasure is that I spoke to her and had virtual cuddles down the phone line :)

    2. Watched Bridesmaids on DVD and very funny it was too, and the borrowing of it was free, hoorah!

    3. I've started a bit more packing, shame there are now wine glasses all over the kitchen table and an empty box waiting to be filled and I CBA to do it tonight.....

    4. Remembered to take lunch in to work with me, saving me some pennies, but haven't had a NSD as I treated myself to a magazine to "cheer myself up". Better than buying a chocolate bar I guess.......

    5. I borrowed 2 interesting looking books from the library at lunchtime

    6. A friend emailed me to tell me that she's on the move as well! Her new house will be great, it's bigger So pleased for her as she and her children have had a bit of a rough time over the last couple of years and a change of house will be fantastic for them

    7. Looking forward to working from home tomorrow

    Good-o, I got to 7 :)

    Evening

Millie - Keeping everything crossed for Gem's recovery. She is beautiful and want doggie cuddles now.
Ninoodle- Your sunday sounds perfect and was very green with envy reading about it
Broomstick - Hope you are feeling better soon, hugs to you
rebeccaxoxo - there is nothing like a happy baby and you have to do what is right for you and her.

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Productive morning before work - made DD HM pizza for lunch, so she just had to pop in the oven plus enough for tomorrow and got the slow cooker on with a beef casserole for dinner. Plus some washing on and some ironing done.
    2. Cuddle with DD this morning. She doesn't do cuddles very often these days so making the most of them.
    3. Yummy lunch at work with friends. H's OH made chicken curry for us, it was sooo yummy. K brought the rice, P brought mint choccies and I did carrot muffins. Very sociable lunch and makes it an affordable treat. Plus annoys the dragon in the office :D
    4. Nice chat with my mum on the way home from work though she did sound a little bit manic, will have to keep an eye on that as not usually a good sign.
    5. Everyone enjoyed the beef casserole and there is loads left to turn onto a pie later in the week :j
    6. NSD

Hugs to all who need them

Hugs to all feeling low, anxious or ill

I am a bit of all 3 - but nothing major. So for today

    1. A lie in as it's half term and i didn't have to go to work (tho have plouhed through some marking)
    2. Lunch out with DD and bought her a lovely top for her party on Friday. Equally nice as she didn't ask for one - I just felt she should have one
    3. DD is doing the ironing - tho I am paying her
    4. DS enjoyed soccer school
    5. Lovely HM muesli for brekkie.

I am stupidly excited about going back to my old place of work tomorrow - same company but our department moved and I have missed the grotty hole we used to work in! I am not good with change.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Millie so, so pleased with your news, and what a gorgeous girl! She's very similar to my Sacha, makes me even more desparate for another GSD. Sadly I just don't have the space, or the energy for one any more but they'll alawys be Best Dog to me :).
Welcome newbies and hugs to everyone.
Early night as I don't recall being this weary or cold for a long time. Strange as I've been in the car for most of it!

    1. Out at 7am in hope of missing rush hour traffic, apart from one stretch it was reasonably clear all the way
    2. Horrid misty rain with a lot of spray from lorries - they should be banned between dawn and dusk ;). On the other hand everyone was driving much better (more professionally) than I expereince on my Sunday treks
    3. Was lovely to see my cousins and extended family, such a shame we seldom meet up but that's families the world over. My female cousin looks 10 years younger than I remember her ten years ago! A very happy marriage has contributed to that, I suspect.
    4. I remember my grandparents having a beautiful photo of my Aunt on their sideboard, she was wearing pearl earrings and necklace which seemed to glow, as pearl does. As we entered the chapel they were playing Glenn Miller's String of Pearls :). Then toward the end of the service The Platters recording of Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight. So approriate for my lovely little Aunt, sincere, fun and a little bit cheeky. It wasn't a sad occasion, of course there were tears but it was so exactly her that there were many smiles too.
    5. Home to find a very nice cheque from a survey site, but more importantly to be able to phone my DM, my Aunts sister, to report the days events, and just be thankful I still have her today

Bed now, it's been a long and very emotional day. Tomorrow I'll work on making plans to have a decent family get together for no other reason than we should!

    Night night, sweet dreams
    S :)
