1) Paid off CC in full - it's fab being able to do that now
2) Apart from above NSD
3) Posted thank you card to my friend's parents for the flowers chocolates and wine they sent me to say thank you for helping my friend at her wedding and being a wonderful bridesmaid :P
4) house cleaning mission means at least downstairs is vaguely presentable
5) Upstairs however is a different story as I have embarked upon a huge decluttering/cleaning mission which means at the moment my room is a bigger mess than it normally is.. hey ho!

1. OH naturally hasn't given me a valentine's, as he's a bah humbug about it (and those of you who know me from last year know how p'd off I was when I gave him one and he didn't acknowledge it for rather a long time....so there was no way I was doing that again!!), but he's been a sweetheart to me all day *swoon *

2. I cooked us a yummy dinner and managed to cook him a nice steak (which is a major feat as its only the second time I've ever cooked one and of course I have no idea what it should look/smell/taste like!)

3. Lovely chats with DD - she's had a rather radical haircut and has told me her hair looks like a "lion's mane" now......intriguing! She's happy so I will be too when she comes back home at the end of the week

4. Good news on the house front!!!!!!! The mortgage company have finally satisfied me that things are ok, no need for new paperwork, so I've been on the phone to the solicitor/estate agent/my parents/anyone who's remotely interested and we're 99% on for exchange early next week now

5. I did some more packing....but I am fast realising it's just scraping the surface and I must get off my backside as we'll be moving in 2 weeks today and noone else can or will do it for me! Maybe tomorrow night as I have more cuddles to claim from OH

6. NSD, hoorah!

1. Had a good sleep and didn't wake til 8.30am
2. Exercise class, weary but tried not to slack - I've eaten so much food over the last couple of days I need to work much harder than usual
3. Had an invitation to an evening out next week - no, not like that (shame). Going with some of my lady friends so watch out MK, All the Single Ladies are coming
4. Called into Mr A on the way home, got some rtc's including a rainbow trout for £1 which I had for dinner this evening with some sprout tops. Delicious.
5. Just settling down to watch Duets at the BBC

Hello all.

Mine for today

1. Went to my old place of work. Really liked going back there - although the purpose of the day there was a bit of a waste of time. Wish we'd never had to move.
2. Free lunch
3. Phone call with dad - the first time I've managed to actually speak to him for a week nearly. He isn't behaving well but is on the mend, going to see him tomorrow.
4. OH cooked lasagne for tea - and we had some wine
5. Ooh a 5th, hmmmm, DS has asked me to watch a programme with him - truly honoured :rotfl:

Been MIA due to a faulty fan in ye olde laptop . It screamed at me when it was switched on and got very hot . OH had to buy one in and fixed it today for me...

Millie - Gem sounds and looks a real Gem . I love the way that you found each other x I am glad that she is more stable and is more herself now - lets hope the vets have cracked the issue .You must feel like a piece of string with knots tied in it

5 for today

1. Got two Valentines cards - one from OH and one from THE HENS !!! Clever critters huh ??

2. Also got red roses and a bottle of nice Champagne (not on a school night though folks)from OH .I gave him a 59p card We got my Mum a bunch of roses as my Dad would have done so when he was alive , I tied this to her back door at 6.30am and she didn't notice for hours despite letting the dog in and out a few times , taking the dustbin out for collection via the back door :rotfl:

3.Site visit today at work -a really busy day. A lady with a dementia type illness asked me if my hair was naturally this colour (very blonde) and she laughed when I said "sometimes".

4. I have eaten to much chocolate - mini eggs and a chocolate eclair and I don't care

5. OH stayed in tonight - he usually goes out to his diving club because it is Valentines Day.

6. Two more days and then I am off until 29th Feb

How lovely that the Hens gave you a card Chickenopolis, hope Millie got one from Gem too! My best card was from DD, even if she did give it to me last Tuesday, lol.

I'm sure I've missed out in recent days on saying welcome to some new posters and welcome back to others. :hello::hello: to all.

Gem is beautiful, Millie.

:rotfl:Skint. I had absolutely no post at all this morning (not that I was expecting any other than the usual bills - I'd forgotten it was Valentine's day tbh! (Shows my age and well-established singleness:D)

My five pleasures for Tuesday:

1. Another warm day indoors with the heating on and having a nap mid-afternoon. I think I really am starting to feel on the mend now. (Thanks for the get wells. ) I've been on my own because DS1 is still away and DS2 is off with friends so it's been quiet.

2. Another NSD and NPD because of 1.

3. Big bowl of porridge for brunch and the end of last night's pasta for late lunch. Am going to have a late supper when DS2 comes in of HM veg soup and soft-boiled eggs - nice comfort food.:)

4. Got a longer email from DS1 which was lovely. He's filled me in with quite a bit of what is going on, including some very good-humoured inter-team rivalry and pranks.:D

5. At last, have got a back-up copy of the script printed out and the real thing ready to go in the post tomorrow in a sealed envelope so I can't tweak any more.

Ahhh, thank goodness, I was just about to put out a worried "where are you, chicken??" message Norty laptop!!

Kittikins- no card from GSD, but she did give me big face licks this morning, when she had eaten her manky chew...sweet!!

...and thankyou for all the admiring comments re. Gem, she really is a bit special

Once again, I might struggle to think of 5, as it has been a bit of a tough day, buuuut Gem is still doing ok so I am v v happy about that, so, erm, here goes...

1. Cleared (some of) the air (in rather spectacular fashion) with my mother about some "issues". I felt like I unleashed 30 years of pent-up rage :eek: but it will hopefully allow us to move forward :A
2. OH was very supportive about the above, as was Dad
3. I woke up to a non-petrol station valentines card, some chocs, a Robin Ince book (saw him live last week, loved him) and a toy rabbit, or it might just be a dog with big ears and big feet :unsure:, I thougt it impoilte to ask!!
4. Just when I thought I'd have to sell a vital organ to pay for it, Gem has decided that her diet need not to restricted to steak and steak alone- she will now eat chicken (slightly warmed), Fussyarsed dog
5. I am now snuggled up in my PJs and Skanket, with a glass of (stolen from Dad's stash) wine. I am not convinced this was what OH had in mind for tonight Ahhh well...
