    Evening all.

    My five for Wednesday:

    1. My black leather watch strap snapped having been separating the leather from the lining for a while and I seem to have managed to fix it with a mixture of Copydex and black matt electrical tape. The mend is not at all obvious. Bit of money saved. :D

    2. Popped out to Mr S this evening to top up on milk and bread. I could have got by on vouchers but because DS2 is in charge of tidying the kitchen and washing up tonight I ended up spending a little bit more and buying him a pizza and ice cream for his tea to say thank you. I don't think he's had any of this sort of thing since Christmas. We've been eating far too wholesomely! He looked terribly pleased. :o:D

    3. Added another £1 in coins to my silver coins pot.

    4. Got the last bits of my washing done at last. Things got all out of synch while I was poorly and it takes time to get it back to normal but I'm back on top of it now.

    5. Catching up sort of phone call with one of my sisters.

    Sleep well

Back from another visit to dad where he veers between irritating and hilarious - seems to think there is a conspiracy to keep him in hospital ("why was i in that other ward?", "It was ECU - you were really poorly" "What was it?" "Pneumonia" "WELL SO THEY SAY" :rotfl:) I should think they can't wait to get rid of him, not keep him longer!

    Anyway for today

    1. Saw some cherry blossom this morning - yes I know you can get winter flowering, but i prefer to view it as a sign of spring
    2. Dad being, well, dad. At least he is well enough to be a misery guts!
    3. Seeing my auntie and uncle at the hospital
    4. DD having a lovely time at Les Mis - and getting to meet her hero heartthrobs at the stage door after and obtaining signatures and photos. And getting herself back to Euston afterwards - she's never done the tube alone before (she is 15)
    5. Oriental curry and noodles at Nam Po at Euston - not MSE but yummy.

Hopefully a sneaky 6 very soon, in that I hope to finish my bulk marking before bedtime.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. My first Approved Foods order arriving, is it sad to be so excited about a food delivery. Think may have gone a little bit mad as really struggling to find a home for it all and stopping DD and OH stuffing themselves silly.
    2. New hairdryer from Argos that only cost p in real money as I had a voucher and the one I bought was on offer :money:. A new one was much needed as mine was falling apart.
    3. Did the market research I mentioned a few weeks ago and got paid £55, woohoo. It really is money for old rope. Will pay for our family day out tomorrow.
    4. Having some left overs for dinner when got in rather than buying something whilst out.
    5. Nice chat with my friend H on the drive to and from the research. She has not been very happy lately but seemed better for getting a few things off her chest.

Hugs to all who need them

Hello! Another few days off from here...

To precis (before today's 5), went to see OH on Saturday as he had had a minor op. He wasn't feeling terribly well so I stayed there. All OK until Monday (although not feeling great myself after the last flu/antibiotics) until Monday night when I suddenly deteriorated again and ended up in the walk in centre (50+ miles from home) and got some new antibiotics!

Anyway, here are 5 for today now I am on the mend (again).

    1) Went to Ikea this morning, whilst still in OH's city. My sister wanted a wardrobe so I managed to dismantle the car seats, get the wardrobe and get help sliding it in the car - all by 10.20 a.m!

    2) Got back just in time to pick up sons after their half a half term with their father. Good to see them again. :-)

    3) Texts from OH.

    4) Went to my sister's and put the wardrobe together for her! She is not good at practical building type things so she took sons for a long walk and I got on with it.

    5) Had tea at mum and dad's.

    6) Just watched Holby City on iplayer.

    7) Listened to sons talking about their days with their father. Big son said, "We had fish and chips in Brie". Smaller son said, "In BRIE?" Bigger son, "Erm.... in Cheddar" :-D

Tee hee frith to the cheesy chips :)

    1. NSD - hoorah!

    2. Just had a lovely long chat on the phone with one of my best friends :)

    3. Realised that a possible evening out with her and some other chums is this Saturday rather than next, so I'm more hopeful that if OH is up to babysitting/DD's not back til Sunday, that I can meet them, as they converge from all over the country to my area to stay with a chum.

    4. Doing a very interesting course at work

    5. Good chat with my boss about the house move

    6. Yum yum baked potato for dinner

    7. A colleague's birthday was yesterday so he brought in cakes, would have been rude to refuse one....

    8. Lovely chats with DD on the phone, she's having a great time with my parents

    9. Got a car park space at the office today and another planned for tomorrow (I only get one when certain people are out as I'm too lowly to be given my own and too tight to pay £5 a day parking in town!!)

    10. Lovely to have a leisurely breakfast with OH this morning before dropping him off home, seeing him tomorrow night, yippee!

    Evening all

    1. Got more housework done than I'd planned - Weds, Thurs and Fri are my h/work days but was feeling good today so got through tomorrows as well

    2. Postie brought me a sample of toothpaste, just the right size for my holiday toiletries bag

    3. DNeighbours DD came in and fixed my television, I'd done 'something' when I dusted it and lost the sound. How embarrassing when a 12 y/o discovers you've unplugged a wire at the back :o:D

    4. Taking notice of Martins front page this week and going through various sites to find next year's car insurance. Saved £122 on the renewal quote last years insurer sent me :money:

    5. Excellent meeting tonight, over 40 people again. The regulars say it's because the secretary never runs it exactly to the book, she always forgets something or gets it in the wrong order, which makes it more interesting as they never know what's going to happen. I won't tell you who this year's secretary is.....:o

    Sweet dreams
    S :)
  • 1. Lengthy chats with my Sister more than once.

    2. Decluttering the top of my dressing table.

    3. Getting the right recipe for honeycomb and making it right - nom, nom, nom

    4. Having bangers and cheesy mash for dinner

    5. Making muffins with liquid toffee (honeycomb recipe that ended up as thick toffee syrup)

    6. Great chat with mum on phone.

    7. Quick chat with older brother.
