  • thanks, yet again lovely people xx and I have just had a lovely PM from someone, which really touched me xx
Oddly enough, I went with D and did order chillis, but didn't get any. :( I couldn't be bothered to phone up and complain, and I now think may have been a good thing that I didn't get them!

These were badass chillis and according to OH, have now been removed from the menu  Maybe they put someone in hospital or something, they certainly made my eyes almost pop out!! I do like the regular ones tho :)

    Evening Ladies,

Still feeling rougher than a rough thing :(

and my dear kitty has disappeared overnight. I am hoping my little lad has been take in by someone and is being kept toasty warm.

Despite feeling so rough I went down to London to see a couple of properties. One was really nice but I was not overwhelmed by the area, though it was a lovely property. The second property was waaaaay overpriced as it needed loads of work.

    1) After seeing the properties I popped into see my DB, SIL and nephew. Sadly I didn't get any cuddles as I am so full of cold.

    2) DB made me a large cup of tea and cheese on toast. I love cheese on toast!

    3) Smoked mussels and cream cheese on crackers as a snack. It is certainly a guilty pleasure :)

    4) The drugs do work. I was feeling exceptionally ropey about an hour ago but I have just had some generic cold and flu remedy and feel a lot better. I no longer feel as if my skin is trying to crawl off me.

    5) Being tucked up and warm on the sofa... just wish the feline was with me :(

    Night all

    L

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Hugs Millie, Ladyhawk and Tealady xx

    1. DD and I went to see The Muppets this afternoon :)

    2. We also went for dinner :)

    3. Both events were nice and cheap!! I had a £17 credit on my credit card which paid for dinner, nomnom

    4. Bumped into a couple of friends whilst in town on the way to the cinema, which was lovely to stop for a quick natter

    5. Texts with OH :)

    6. DD and I managed to do a little bit of decluttering this morning before more exciting things to do caught our eyes :)

Hugs for Gem from me and the cats (2 who chose us last year at the cat rescue centre) and hello to all humans on this thread
Had a horrid headache hang on from yesterday afternoon (I think it's the bug doing the rounds) so went to bed at 12:30 with the news quiz. Spent a blissful afternoon curtains drawn, eyes, shut, duvet up to my chin, listening to episodes of superscrimpers (ranging from quite sensible to bonkers imho) so here's my five for the day:

    1) coffee this morning was from huge flask OH filled for coming home last night rather than buying at service stations :D
    2) stuck to weekly shopping list - £66.66 at Lidl including rump steak, alcohol and lots of fresh veg and came home to £58.50 Tesco voucher (we had a very large purchase on our CC, had the money in the bank so all those lovely points cost us not a penny)
    3) learnt the term 'fleabag' from greenbuzby :rotfl:
    4) student PMd me on FB to say I was the best supervisor ever :blushing:
    5) cut up old foil to sharpen scissors (from superscrimpers) :T
    MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

(((Millie))) keeping you all in my prayers.
Broomstick/VJsmum couldn't resist a peek at the paperclip video, makes me so very grateful that they'll never be forgotten. My Dad, of Jewish heritage, was a spotter pilot (gliders), got shot down over Arnhem and was fortunate enough to be repatriated by the German underground. Otherwise I wouldn't be here today (and we know the World can't manage without me :rotfl:)
Tealady I empathise, having worked with older people for more years that I care to rememberI admire you greatly for what you did today.
Ladyhawk this has gone on long enough, get well now! Please take care when thinking of moving to London, it's taken me years to persuade my DSis to move out as there's always been some incident wherever she was. Mind you she's moved to Enfield and that was no better with last years riots!
Dundeedoll hope the headache has gone now. I agree, Sperscrimpers is crazy! But compulsive viewing

    1. After all the take away pizza talk I was sorely tempted but made a pan of curried parsnip soup instead. Had a mug for tea and it was sooo good!

    2. Not a pleasure exactly but ordered flowers for the funeral on Monday and the florist was so sweet and understanding, said I sound like a bright Spring flowers person and she got it exactly right, that was what I wanted :)

    3. nsd/npd, that's 8 this month. Broomstick I'm hot on your heels! But only because it's been to cold to go out :D

    4. The £3 fleeces I bought in Oct are so warm I keep having to take one off my knees to cool down! Mind you it's not long before I pull it back over me again

    5. Is it OS to include doing little to nothing today? At least I haven't used any cleaning materials etc!

    Stay safe and warm
    S :)

Hugs to Millie and anyone else who needs or wants them

1 Waking up and it was light
2 Going for a walk with OH over the fields in bright sunshine
3 Tidaying up the house, which had been getting me down
4 friends for dinner which we'd been meaning to do for a while
    5. Watching something on youtube which made me LOL

    Night night
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Millie, (((hugs))) to you and Gem. (((Hugs))) to you, Ladyhawk, too.

Tealady, that kind of cleaning up is a real labour of love. :T

Sparrer, I'm glad your dad made it out of there safe and sound :D

Well my five for Saturday are:

    1. Another NSD. Sparrer are you challenging me to a race?!!! :rotfl:

    2. Actually managing to dry some washing outdoors today. The stuff that wasn't dry was frozen stiff like boards at tea time and I had to bash it to get it to fit in the laundry basket. Made me smile.

    3. The DSs coming home and talking about the very busy days they'd had doing different things.:)

    4. Egg and HM chips for supper. Haven't had that in ages. :)

    5. Getting another little star by my 'name'.

Sleep well, keep warm this cold night.

Well, my prodigal has returned. I have no idea where he has been but he wasn't cold when he came back but was certainly very hungry. The little blighter was probably hiding under my bed for the last 24 hours!

Sparrer - I am actually not looking too far from Enfield, and my DB did suggest I consider it. You know where - currently live and anywhere is an improvement!

Glad he's home. My girl went missing last Christmas when it was -19C and lots of snow

Guess who spent ages outside......calling.....shaking her biccies....etc etc :o was soooo cold!

I eventually came in, totally numb from the cold and out of the corner of my eye happened to see a tiny paw poking out of the ironing basket :rotfl:

    1) being nice and cosy with my woodburner on

    2) a beautiful sunny (but cold) day

    3) a nice phone call with someone I'm just getting to know and making arrangements to meet up (NOT like 'that')

    4) making some Twinks biccies (with the extra addition of Rolos) and some sweet potato soup

    5) a lovely evening spent on FB reminiscing about my childhood in a beautiful place with others that grew up there

(Well done on your weightloss sparrer. Reading your pleasures always makes me feel all warm and cosy :))

I used to post quite regularly last year but have struggled to post, but do still read.
