5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Evening:D
Five pleasures for Monday -
1. Discovering that you can request a congratulations card to be sent from the Queen for free (that's the OS/MSE bit) for a 60th wedding anniversary (and 65th and 70th!) as well as 100th etc birthdays which I already knew about. Have stashed this idea away for a Diamond wedding anniversary for next year. It will be a good surprise.:D
2. Chatted on the phone with the garage about what to do about my car battery and the car locks. Things seem back to normal again :T but have booked the car in to be looked at on Wednesday just in case.
3. Did a final edit and read through of the script I've been tweaking and printed it out. Will get the covering letter done tomorrow evening and put it in the post on Wednesday. I have quite a few good bits of writing that I need to put out there again to see if I get any takers. It's stupid having them sitting at home doing nothing.
4. Got a delivery of the stainless steel drinking water bottles that I ordered last Wednesday. I'm fed up of trying to make plastic water bottles last for multiple fillings or get them clean. These look as if they'll last for ever and are BPA free so I think they should be a good investment. Hope so.
5. Managed to cook tomorrow night's soup while I was making tonight's supper/tomorrow's packed lunch food. Haven't tried this before but it seems to have worked so that all I'll need to do tomorrow night is boil the soup for a bit and blitz it, then make some dippy eggs to have with it. We always come back exhausted on a Tuesday evening so this is a great time and energy saver:D.
6. And I'm sneaking in a sixth one of the latest episode of Call the Midwife on iplayer. I'm really enjoying this programme.:D
Sweet dreams

My five are
1. Seeing two groups of geese flying over in formation.
2. A gift of tulips from a collegue that I had helped ouy - totally unexpected but lovely
3. Washing done on economt 7.
4. Still taking my lunch into work and saving money.
5. Drive into work was fine in the snow.0 -
Lets see if I can stretch to 5:
1.Up bright & early, did 30 minutes wii fit....hello Mhagster you have not been here for 253 days...yep that's about right!
2.Still early & made choc brownie cupcakes & banana loaf, did an ironing & put a load on washing line.
3.Enjoyed my new CD in car.
4.Finally came home from work (very long & tedious day!)
5.Stopped off and got my very hairy scary eyebrows waxed.
6.Payday....first time in ages that there is not an urgent need for it ie, school fees, uniforms, books etc. So it will hopefully last a bit longer than the last few.
7.My DD2 talking & talking & then more talking as soon as I got in from work ( I really wanted to sit & relax for 10 minutes) ,she is enjoying her new school & has so much to talk about.
8.Dry day but not too hot. But just going to hang another load out at 5.30pm which should dry soon enough!
Surprisingly got 8! Have a lovely Tuesday x0 -
My cars have all had names too. The last (ancient) car was Mike; we haven't named the new one yet. I think the only thing in the house to have a name is the wood burning stove. Unfortunately, OH has the same name (!) so I have to pick a new name for the stove. Or OH!
5 for yesterday.
1) Waking up with OH after many days without him. :-)
2) Getting house tidier.
3) Went with mum to M and S for a few bits and some new socks for smaller son. He is so taken with the socks (just a packet of stripy ones) that he hung today's pair from the slats in bigger son's bunk above him so they would be ready for morning!
4) Getting organised after being ill and making appointments for those we missed, including the dentist.
5) Educational psychologist wants to talk to me on Thursday about smaller son, which might be interesting.
6) £5 meal deal from M and S for tea, very tasty.
7) Enjoyed watched Grand Designs intermittently whilst putting people to bed.
8) OH came round for tea. His alarm didn't do the snooze thing this morning meaning he got up 50 minutes late so I hope he got to work at a reasonable time. (It's a 50 mile drive) :-(0 -
Mine for yesterday:
1. Admiring the tulips all day that I bought cheap in Aldi . I love tulips!
2. My OH went and bought a trailer of logs for the fire and filled up the new store. I am so thrilled! Log fires from now on instead of oil heater which gives off hardly any heat :j
3. Got the heating oil sorted for the house. Over £500 which will last us a quarter (and that's if we're careful) However I rang about and saved £13. Not gigantic, but every little helps!
4. I bought a bargain duvet set for the spare room which arrived in the post and it looks really lovely.
5. Had lovely walk in the sun at lunchtime round the village
6. Managed to go out for a very short run - the first since my chest infection. It was hard going as I have lost fitness but nice to get out again.
7. Doing the cleaning while listening to loud music0 -
1, it's pizza Tuesday yeah.( it is the first thing that gets written on the meal plan)
2 home made pimms mincemeat mince pies.( should have made more)
3 getting my boys to make word magnets out of scrap store junk magnets saving us £4 a set !!!
4 did a late night approved foods order. ( my first which covered a few treats for holiday and valentines, mothers day)
5 made "the best den ever" for my smallest boy in the spare room.

All this talk of naming things - Mr Kitchenbunny does names really well! My stick blender is called Brenda the Blender and our coffee machine is Massimo the Tassimo! It has felt like a Monday all day today. Got to bed about 10:30pm and woke up feeling as though I'd had the best night's sleep I'd ever had ... and it was only 11:30pm! The rest of the night was spent waking up pretty much every half hour without any identifiable reason - Mr Kitchenbunny was the same. So, naturally feeling quite tired now, although I've not reached for a can of pop yet. Very happy about that!
Got most of the items from my shopping list and didn't spend very much. Hopefully only going to have another smallish spend this week and that'll be it - hopefully for about £25 for the two of us. I am now sat down with a cup of tea catching up with everyone before I go and start tonight's tea - shepherd's pie. Anyway, here's my pleasures:
1. Most of the snow has gone now. It's still very icy underfoot where it hasn't completely melted, but the roads are clear enough for me not to worry.
2. The shopping trip coming to less money than I thought it would.
3. Got home and Mr Kitchenbunny has done all the hoovering and emptied the bins. He's going to get SUCH a hug when he gets in!
4. Did a bit more sewing and am really getting into it. I wouldn't mind trying an absolutely MASSIVE project (like the size of a doorway) but have no idea where to start - cue a few happy hours of research.
5. Work was OK.
hakeber - the pimms mincemeat mince pies sound awesome - do you have a recipe please?
Ninnoodle - well done on the run! Getting back into fitness is the hardest part, I think.
Frith - glad to hear you're much better
mhgaster - eyebrow wax? You're braver than I am - epilating is where I stop!
villagelife - aww, tulipsThat was a lovely surprise
Broomstick - I didn't know about the congratulations card from the Queen for the 60th Wedding Anniversary - thanks for the tip!
sparrer - love the sound of that chicken casserole. I know I'm weird but I'll miss stews and casseroles in summer!
Tealady - ooh, what concert are you going to see? Always good to benefit like that
miss_emmajane - sounds like your nursing placement is going well - hope it continues to be good for you
Have a nice evening, everyone (((hugs))) to those in need.

Googled said company and got lots of hits about scams and they take £££'s from your mobile phone bill. Panick all round and after posting on moble phone forum & following advice, said company phoned me and emailed me. It turns out the charge is via my local taxi firm
On nights out I request said taxi company send me a text oncecab is outside venue i am in and give me reg number for security. Worrying about this for most of day, but now relieved.
1. sat in kitchen this afternoon looking through patio doors out over garden and enjoyed watching the birds and seeing sun shine
2. negotiated new contract with mobile phone more minutes for less per month
