Hope you feel better soon PK

Re car names - Ours is Rufus because he is red! The other is Ed, named after the salesman. My favourite car name we've had is Trevor, because the kids genuinely believed that it's name was Trevor rather than something we'd made up! We have a freezer called Steve (it's a Beko) and a bookcase called Julian. :o

    For yesterday

    1. DS skiing - he's learned really quickly
    2. OH made yummy curry for tea
    3. OH took MIL out for the afternoon - respite :D
    4. Call the midwife - love it
    5. DD tidied and cleaned her room

    And today

    1. We have new boiler therefore heat and hot water
    2. We have heat
    3. We have heat
    4. We have heat
    5. We have heat

I have also had a NSD (apart from the £1050 for the boiler ), friend came for coffee, got a few chores done, LO gammon for tea

Did I say we have heating now? :D
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Evening all.

VJsmum - I'm glad you're warm again, even if it has come at a horrendous price.

PK - get well now, and best of luck for tomorrow.

Millie - I'm glad GSD's better, and hope the bunny's OK.

KB - there's a number on the Mr T website to call if you want to cancel your card - I assume they want you to phone so they can try to talk you out of it. I haven't yet decided how open to bribery I might be. :o

Re car names - given my luck with cars, I think if I posted the names I call mine on here it would come out as a row of !!!!!!!!!!. ;)

    1) A totally nonsensical Monday morning email from a colleague - I never did work out what she was trying to say, but it reassured me I wasn't the only one being a bit scatty.

    2) Freebie caramel custard donut as a mid-afternoon snack. Bloomin' lovely it was, too. :D

    3) Healthy but tasty turkey lasagne for dinner tonight, to partially make up for the donut.

    4) An evening off essay writing, as I'll be home early tomorrow and have a bit of extra time.

    5) A glass of wine to go with my dinner, as I did give in and open the bottle yesterday. :o

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all

PK- get better very soon xx
CCP- I might join you in the glass of vino :D

    Mine for today

    1. GSD is lots better, stil not quite right, but she came to the door to meet me tonight, which was rather unexpected. Yesterday it was all she could do to drag herself off her bed
    2. Bunny also ok- he came through the GA fine and was soon up and eating and causing general mayhem. He is currently dozing the rest of it off. It wasn't as expensive as I feared either, will still be on baked beans for the rest of the month tho :D
    3. Managed to clear my work email inbox for the first time, erm, ever! It won't be clear for long, but I came home tonight with a clearer head
    4. Successful feedback meeting with the students, in that none of the complaints they had were directed at me (just at everyone else :rotfl:)
    5. Nice texts with Best Mate, who is having a tough time atm, so I offered some Millie (il)logic..and it worked. Huzzah!

Mothership has her WI "girls" girls :rotfl:) around tonight and has made a yummy looking carrot cake. They'd better not eat it all *glares angrily at WI brigade* as one piece has my name on it. Besides, I need to make up for my lack of food consumption this past few days (any excuse!!)

Ooooh and superscrimpers is on tonight- not sure what I enjoy more- the programme itself or OH's helpful commentary (along the lines of "what a pile of $*%&")

Hugs to anyone in need and thanks again for being so lovely xx
  • 3. Got home and epilated.

KB - sorry but I found this hilarious ^:rotfl:

VJsmum - woo hoo , steamy mirrors again and no more tide marks !I really enjoy call the midwife . I read the book when we stayed in Scotland on holiday , as it was in the bookcase and I couldn't put it down, or the second book which I can't recall the name of .

PK -I hope that you feel better soon and good luck tomorrow.

Millie - I hope that GSD is continuing to improve and that you are right about it being a nerve or soft tissue problem . Good luck for bunnykins at the dentist too xx

Broomstick - what a nice thing to say -we love you too .

5 (at a push) for today

    1. Less snow so journey to work was ok . I refused to drive so, OH took me in and picked me up from work.

    2. The day at work went quickly - lots of emails for me to plough through and only one of them peed me off , must be a record ! Still my next round of annual leave begins in 2 weeks time , so I am counting down already:)

3.Much laughter from people at work as they saw my pin striped work trousers tucked in to my bright blue Joules wellies with hens on them !:rotfl:Do I care , not a jot x

4.It was still light when I left work at 4pm . OH said that the hens refused to come out again , but they saw me and came out and then wouldn't go back in !

    5. OH made paella for tea- not the conventional way with Arborrio rice for me . I had basmati instead as it is low g.i . It was quite nice .

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    1. NSD, hoorah!

    2. Earned some brownie points at work by being a superstar efficient gal :)

    3. A lovely colleague brought in cookies and cakes for his birthday, so I indulged in a lovely chocolate cookie, nomnom

    4. DD had one of her chums over to play after school and they had a whale of a time and finished their homework for the week, lovely stories, such imagination!

    5. Made Twinks and passed on the recipe to chum's mummy :)

Not a huge amount to report today..

    1. The 'white stuff' has almost gone :j

    2. Postie knocked and asked if I had anything to post, she took two letters for me. She's really such a lovely postie :)

    3. nsd/npd

    4. Delicious portion of chicken casserole followed by sf jelly, total cost approx 48p in total :D

    5. After 2 hours and many phone calls I managed to find someone in officialdom who will go and help DM fill in some essential forms. Among other things they wanted her, a partially sighted 90 y/o with walking difficulties, to take a bus to their offices and couldn't understand why this wasn't feasible. Sometimes I want to bang my head on a brick wall

    Sleep tight
    S :)
