    1. lovely:) visit from the fire men who did a free house check and installed 3 free smoke alarms and my boys got to sit in the fire engine. - what could possibly top that !!!!!!!

hakeber - a calendar with firemen in it ;)

VJsmum- I am sorry that your Dad is not doing so well x You need "triumphant" days when you can phone in sick in order to look after yourself a bit when you are feeling strung out .

ampersand - it is nice to have you back x

Millie -I am glad that the animals are ok . I did laugh at the "Button it" scenario with your Mum .

    5 for today

    1. OH gve me a lift in to work again as it was snowing a bit when I let the hens out .When will it GO ?

    2. Finished off a report at work.

    3. Out on a site visit all day tomorrow , I prefer being out of the office .I find the open plan nature of my office is far too noisy which makes it difficult to concentrate .

    4. Made a hm tomato and soft cheese sauce and tagliatelle for tea.

    5. OH went to the pharmacy in Mr. A and Neurofen and Gaviscon tablets were 2p a box , so he got 18p worth. All were in date .

Have a good evening all !

    eta -Good luck Ladyhawk xx

I am going to struggle to find many pleasures to post. A dear friend of mine was told today she has womb cancer that has spread to her lungs. She is only 37 years old. We don't know how long she has left. She will be sadly missed and yes, I know life isn't fair, but to be terminally ill at 37 seems all wrong somehow.

Anyway, I'll see what I can come up with:

    1. Another viewing booked for the house for tomorrow.
    2. Yummy warming homemade soup for lunch.
    3. A day spent keeping out of the cold and warm at home with my slanket.
    4. Getting a text to say Fudge Foster Cat is keen to explore her new home -fingers crossed all goes well.

Can't think of much else. Am absolutely gutted.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

    1) The look of barely concealed dismay on my manager's face when we ended up in the same lift this morning, after she spent all day yesterday trying to avoid me. :rotfl: (Petty of me, I know. :o)

    2) My nice tutor gave me another week's extension on my essay.

    3) Pasta bake for dinner using various odds and ends - very tasty, and enough left for lunch tomorrow, too.

    4) One from yesterday that I forgot - I ordered a couple of JO books from the work bookclub, which cost the same as one of the books bought from Amaz0n. :money:

    5) Cancelled my Mr T card and didn't have my principles tested - it was cancelled within seconds, without any attempts at bribery, or even seeming to care why I was cancelling. They're certainly a company that knows how to make a customer feel wanted. (!) :p

Hugs to VJsmum and anyone else in need, and good luck for tomorrow Ladyhawk.

ETA - I'm so sorry to hear that, savingforoz. What dreadful news. :(
Back after a very long break!

savingforoz hugs to you and your friend. CCP we have as little to do with Mr T as poss. Tried making a claim on phone insurance, asked when was damage done (screen damaged), 9 days ago, oh you have to make the claim in 7 days goodbye.

Didn't manage NSD as planned today (son needed lined A4 paper), but still have 5 things to celebrate:
    1) first inspector montalbano collected from library (saving download charge £5.26)
    2) nice walk with DS, finding 18p road kill on route (made him laugh)
    3) Finished hand cream (yes, did cut open to get the very last out) so 1st UU from toiletries aladdin's cave
    4) Tried chopped cucumber in sweet and sour - it worked
    5) Sorted two food shelves in kitchen - note to self DO NOT BUY lea and perrins, honey or marmalade without checking cupboard first!!!

Savingforoz - oh my goodness, what sad news, will keep you and your friend (and her family) in my prayers x

Ladyhawk - go knock 'em dead tomorrow. Don't be in awe of the other speakers, bet they're as nervous as you inside and just remember, that they have to blow their noses/go to the loo/etc etc just like you, noone is better than you x

    1. NSD :)

    2. My back is getting a lot better, still very sore and I'm walking like a constipated duck (or how I imagine one would walk ;) ) but at least I can walk without my crutches today. Not sure about going into the office tomorrow as it hurts to drive, but I do work only a few miles from home, so I should make the effort.

    3. DD came down this morning and gave me lots of hugs and was just the sweetest, kindest, loveliest girl in the world.

    4. Went to see my lovely friend for acupuncture this afternoon

    5. Good chats with OH on the phone, hopefully popping in to see him tomorrow :)

    6. Enjoying watching the Versailles programme right now

    7. Picked up the contract for buying the bungalow this afternoon, just need to sign and wait for the other contract to come in, woohoo! We should exchange at the beginning of next week :):):)

Savingforoz - how absolutely dreadful for you all. Life sure is a b!tch sometimes

Not good news with dad - has a chest infection which is inhibiting his breathing - he is a large chap and that isn't helping things. Apparently the next 48 hours are critical, so I have told my boss that i'm not going in tomorrow and am going down to see him instead.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
