    1) Posted plumber cheque in plenty of time so could use a second class stamp (need to buy more 2nd class stamps before they go up)
    2) DS spotted Marmite crisps and cashews in independent SM. This completes sister's birthday Marmite hamper and we will hopefully be visiting her very soon so will save myself the postage by being organised
    3) Had delicious whoopsied salmon poached in cider then soaked up cider with couscous so nothing wasted
    4) DD2 phoned very excited about her day at uni :D
    5) Had lovely walk with DS even if the point was to get his jabs! I reminisced with the nurse about when he'd had his jabs aged 3 and because he needed 2 they had 2 nurses do one arm each at the same time while he sat on my lap. He's now 6'4" so didn't sit on my lap lol. I still bought him sweeties after though cos he'll always be my baby :D (and anyway, that's where he noticed the Marmite goodies)
    MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
    25 for 25: 371 / 625
    declutter: 173 / 2025

A shortie as the site has been down and I've got involved in chatting with a friend in messenger

Thinking of all the poorlies and those with problems, will be saying one for you tonight

    1. Kitchen and lounge given a good clean, then did the stairs and washed down all the woodwork

    2. nsd/npd

    3. Postie brought me a final demand and threat of court proceedings for an unpaid bill of £hundreds . The joke is on them as I have the receipt for the bill, which I paid over a year ago :p

    4. Horrid snow is back, but I'm nice and warm thanks to ch. I remember getting dressed under the covers in a freezing cold bedroom the mornings, breath showing, ice on the inside of the windows and curtains frozen to them...ah, the good old days :D

    5. DGD2 thoroughly enjoyed her day at Cambridge uni, asked her what she did and the first thing she said was 'we had Kiev's for lunch' ;). Attended some lectures and came home quite excited about it.

Sleep well, please take care if/when you have to go out
    S :)

    Five pleasures for Thursday:

    1. The site's back up again.:T

    2. Another NSD. :D

    3. Found a Mr S voucher for £2.36 that I thought I'd lost which will still be in date next Weds, so that, combined with this week's one for £8.13 ( I did a big stock up of non-food goods this week), should cover all food/milk extras that we might need next week.

    4. The snow looks very pretty when you look at it from the warm side of the window!:D

    5. Good stirfry for supper.

    Sleep well

    B x
  • Morning all,

Sorry I haven't been around, bad couple of days. GSD has been poorly again and we are waiting on some test results now, but she's really not well and it's breaking my heart.
Hope to be back with you all soon , hugs to anyone in need xx

Oh Millie, so sorry to hear that. Hope he picks up soon

    For yesterday

    1. Better news with dad. although he isn't out of the woods yet, he is a lot closer to the edge of them than he was. He caught pneumonia whilst in the hospital and, because it was hospital caught it is a lot worse than it would have been and is resistant to a lot of drugs. He is on mega antibiotics, but they seem to be shifting the muck. They are talking about moving him back to the general ward today - so fingers crossed.
    2. Managed to get some marking done on the train
    3. All the good wishes from this thread, and the tougher thread. You guys are the best, and it really meant a lot.
    4. Not much snow
    5. Having a giggle with my sister about how naughty dad is being. I think he is giving them a hard time, which is wicked of him - but is quite funny. The doctors and nurses are amazing and so patient with the grumpy old bu88er.
6 DD has been cast as Dorothy in her drama production of wizard of oz. Am so pleased for her - she has shown such loyalty to the group and has never been cast as lead before. She has often been given it later by default when others back out so I am glad her talent is finally recognised.
    7. Favourite Nephew has finally got a proper job in his chosen field. It has taken him over a year :T

Wow can't believe I got 7 out of yesterday!
    Have a good day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Morning

    Millie - Hugs to you
VJsmum - Glad your dad is getting better and continues to do so.

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. NSD
    2. Free lunch at work and didn't have to sit in the boring meeting to get it either. We are so lucky to have fantastic caterers in are office and the food is always yummy. I have also put a plate in the fridge for today :money:
    3. Lift home from work off OH as he was working in the area.
    4. More Mr.T vouchers in the post. I know lots on here don't like them but for me they are the closest supermarket and as I don't drive I'm afraid I go for the convienence of them.
    5. Not having to go out last night as DD decided to give guides a miss as she had some course work to catch up on. Nice to stay inside in the warm.

Hugs to all who need them and hope everyone who was feeling poorly is better now.

hello, Friday evening here, thank goodness this working week has passed and our internet is working again, we had none yesterday & I feel so lost without it, perhaps I shouldn't be as reliant but it's my contact with my 'old life!'

1.Work was so much better today than yesterday!

2.DD2 found herself with a moral dilemma whilst at school, she dealt with it and I think she made the right decision .

3.Big son home from camp, he has survived 3 days without his mum! Good for him but I did miss him.

4.Big thunder & lightning storm....just after I got home. Huge raindrops which are so good for the garden. We have 2 big water butts which are full of rainwater. so we don't have to use metered water for the garden. Luckily I had phoned ahead & told DS to bring the washing in as I could see the sky was so dark.

5.Enjoyed a bath, a new book, a wee snooze, then sampling DD2's delicious chocolate truffles she made at school.

Have a lovely Friday, hugs for poorlies, poorly parents & poorly pets x

    Morning all.

A flying visit with yesterday's pleasures, as I'm at work and should really be getting on with something more constructive than posting on the forum. :o

    1) A meeting with a student went better than I thought it would: his emails were quite aggressive so I had a male colleague on standby in case I needed back up, but he was fine in person.

    2) LO pasta for lunch, instead of buying something as I've done every other day this week. :o (My OS organisational skills are a little bit off at the moment. :o)

    3) It snowed! It only lasted for an hour and had melted by this morning, but at least I finally got my snow. :)

    4) Walking home from the pub quiz in the snow, swapping grins with my fellow snow lovers. (Including a couple of overseas students who had clearly never seen snow before, which was rather sweet to watch. :))

    5) IT SNOWED!! :j

Millie - I'm sorry to hear about GSD - I really hope she's OK.

VJSmum - I'm glad your dad's improving - long may he continue annoying the nurses!;)
Back after a very long break!
