Sat here now just about eyes closed and ready for bed...;)

Got up, had breakfast and chilled this morning till we left for the tournament at 11.15am. Started at noon and finished around 5pm - in between was good at times, great at other times and absolutely heartbreaking in the end as we lost on penalties to Holsworthy's team...:( One team made the final and beat the other in the semi final on the way.

Stopped for tea on the way back and all 39 of us (22 adults, 17 kids) piled into a hotel which, fair play to them, welcomed us in and looked after us splendidly considering they had no notice....:T

Went into the bar for a presentation evening tonight where DS2 got player of the tournament, DS3 ended up getting a runners-up medal and I won a trophy for winning the treasure hunt, woo-hoo.

Hotel meal cost a tenner and the snacks at the tournament were £3.50. Tomorrow we have to be out by 10am and we'll stop for brunch on the way home before arrivng back around 2pm hopefully.

Oh it was my birthday today as well, its been the best one for years!! :D

Back in the land of living tonight after a loooonnnnggggg journey home today. Always thought that the Bank Holiday traffic jams were exaggerated but found out for myself today that it certainly doesn't... took us five hours to get home the 150 miles....

All in all though it was a great weekend, a historic one in a lot of ways to be honest and full of firsts. Whatever way though, it brought me a lot closer to my children which holidays together always seem to do.

Todays spends totalled £13, the sum of three brunches in Morrisons in Bideford on the way back.

Tomorrow will be spent catching up on housework, paperwork and washing before going down to the football club for the county cup final in the evening. The children are coming with me and staying overnight too so have got cover for the DX run on Wednesday morning.

Had a "lie-in" until 8am this morning and felt much better for it after the bedlam of the weekend. Have worked out that I've driven nearly 1,000 miles in the last ten days....

Went shopping this morning and spent £27 in Asda including a few new pairs of socks (£3). Have been steadily working my way through the paperwork mountain on my desk before heading down to the match tonight.

Very disappointing loss for the team tonight in the County Cup Final, losing 1-0 to a team three divisions below them despite having eight first team regulars playing and against a team of part time players...:(

Only one of the twins came down as the other one went to cubs (he obviously knew what was coming :D ) so he stayed over at mine last night and I took them to school this morning.

Have decided that no-one is going to be able to improve my finances than me so will be starting to make small steps in an attempt to drag my outgoings down and pull my incomings up.:p

Tonight I listed my old Blackberry on eBay and added two sets of junior golf clubs that the twins have grown out of. Have decided to really get my a!!! into gear and sort my life out as stuff is drifting on with no settlement in sight of any of it.

Hopefully will get to see the Community Trust Manager tomorrow to sort out this temporary summer job as from this month, I don't get any money for the programmes so my income will drop by £150 a month. Then when it returns in August, I'll only have £100 a month coming in from that side.

Have also decided to ring Virgin Media on Friday and get rid of my home broadband. For several months now my desktop PC at home hasn't worked but I've used my laptop and hooked it up to the bigger screen. Waste of money paying for broadband because I can't use it without the PC being fixed (around £70) so that should save me £25 a month or thereabouts.

....... and it's already gone for the price I wanted for it....:rotfl:. Wish I'd done it ages ago now...

Been a strange day today really. Had a poor night's sleep and woke up feeling rough - did the courier run this morning but was delayed by 45 minutes making it a rush to get back home in time. Then the twins mum rang up feeling ill so took the boys to school again - still felt rough so called in sick at work.

Off down to Dorset after a brief sleep to see the older two children. Bought tea (£7) and returned home at 10.30pm....

Tomorrow looks to be a stay-at-home day ahead of a stay-at-home weekend hopefully although a team we might be merging with are training on Saturday and I might go and watch them.

Just off to bed after a busy day. Did the early morning DX run this morning (well when else would it be...:) ) then got a photocopy of my coaching certificate, spent £12 in Asda on shopping then put £6 of gas on the card.

Picked the boys up from school, then after tea went around the park for an impromptu training session to keep us all fit.

The boys are training tomorrow morning with a side we might be merging with so a little excited about that. Doing the match report off the radio tomorrow as the team are away at Carlisle and that would have bankrupted me in diesel to get up there!! :D

Well today turned out to be a quieter day than planned to be honest. Took the boys to football training this morning only to receive a message after I got there that it was cancelled...

The rest of the day was spent indoors mainly due to the weather and also due to the fact we're all still whacked out from last weekend's escapade in Cornwall. The team were playing at Carlisle this afternoon so did the match report off the radio to save myself a small fortune.

Tomorrow, if the weather holds, we're going to have our first round of golf as a family tomorrow which will be nice, just need it to stay dry now!

Good day again today, managed to get the first round of golf with the twins in. They were surprisingly good considering its seven months since they last played...:T. That cost £11 for the three of us plus £2.58 in the shop on two bottles of squash.

Have decided that this week will be a 'get organised' week. Got rid of the spare TV unit and corner unit and a broken telly, they're in the car preparing for a trip to the tip tomorrow. Have made a list of stuff to do this week as it looks (touch wood) like a quiet week ahead.

Now sat chilling and watching the Lee Evans documentary on telly. He's my favourite comedian...:D
