Tiring weekend now almost all over....:T
Boys won their football match this morning by 2-0 and both of them played which is unusual. Normally they're subs on Sunday and play on Saturdays but both twins played both matches...:D
Came home and just chilled after dinner before I took them round the park for a game of cricketball. Been gorgeous weather here today and certainly I'm browner than I was on Friday. Took the boys home at 5pm then have been proofreading a programme while watching the US Masters on TV.
Spent a fiver on Tesco's shopping and a tenner on gas card today plus another tenner on the tour kitty.
Not going to the club tomorrow as there's a match on Tuesday night so tomorrow will be a day of housework, paperwork and lots of odds and sods jobs that which have been clugging up my list of things to do.0 -
Managed to get about half of my huge list of jobs done (that's the good news) but the list has increased by another dozen jobs (which is the bad news...:o ).
Boys rung up at lunchtime wanting to come around so had them with me from 2pm to 7pm which was nice as wasn't meant to see them until Wednesday. Took them around the park for an hour and gave them tea.
Interesting phone call tonight. Basically my twin boys play for an under-10s team on Saturdays, an offshoot of the team they played for over the last four seasons and play for now and again this season. Anyway another manager from another club has suggested that I go over and manage one of their teams next season - would meaning leaving the club I've been with since March 2006. Probably won't do it as the original aim was to start a second team on Sundays next year in the same league (is this still making sense?) and I'm very loyal where my football teams are concerned.
Tomorrow is match night so will leave after lunch tomorrow and have to do all my jobs before I go...
Spends today were £3 on a car wash, £4 in Tesco's and that was about it.0 -
Got back late last night and had an early start as well so didn't get chance to blog last night.
Good day yesterday really culminating in the team winning 2-1 last night. I keep saying "just one more win and we'll be safe" but I've really reached that point now, win on Saturday and we'll be, ahem, safe.
Spent £2.75 on tea.
Today had a courier job booked this morning at 7am and came back to do articles and website work all morning till lunch then picked up boys for football training. Took them home at 7.45pm and have been chilling and laptop surfing all evening.
For those following the other thread, had the Social Services report back today and it contains more holes than a string vest. Will discuss with my solicitor once I give her a copy of the report.
No press conference tomorrow as the players have the day off so I'm staying at home all day except for the courier job in the morning.0 -
Overslept for the courier job this morning meaning I was 15 minutes later starting and missed breakfast till I got home at 8am.... no idea why I was so tired as I went to bed at 10.45pm last night...
Didn't really do a lot today. Stayed in for much of it, bought some milk and a stamp from the village post office this afternoon and took the report up to the solicitors at dinnertime. Met a mate who I rarely see nowadays and he mentioned his 9-year-old was playing football locally tonight so went to watch with him.
Tomorrow? Early morning courier job, collect the boys at 2pm and chill for rest of day as the weekend is non stop. Football with the Saturday team in the morning, the League One match in the afternoon, football with the Sunday team on Sunday morning and playing in the parents match in the afternoon followed by a managers meeting in the evening! Phew.
Spends today were £1.25 on milk and stamp and £1.40 on a hot dog tonight.0 -
Going to be a brief one as I'm having an early night tonight and it's been a hectic day with an even busier three days ahead from tomorrow.
By 10.30am this morning I had done the early moring courier job, done the weekly shop (£21 in Asda), stuck some diesel in the car (£20 in Sainsburys), rung the boys, written an article and done all the housework. Not surprisingly took it easy after then...:D
Picked boys up at 2pm and chilled before taking them around the park for 45 minutes tonight. We've got one hell of a weekend ahead with four matches to go to.... and, in order, I will be managing the first one, reporting on the second one, watching the third one and playing in the fourth one!!:rotfl:0 -
Re my car search. My courier friend has lent me a Focus estate to be going on with while he replaces the engine on the one I'm getting. Basic maths are as follows... he wants £1250 for it so I've given him £625 out of my insurance settlement plus he will get the £250 excess refund when I get it along with £225 of last month's wages and £150 of this month's (I earn £15 a day for a minimum of 12 days per month with him).
He told me today that a Focus hatchback, really smart and diesel, has come up for £950. Having already given him £850 (£625 plus £225), I will only owe him £100 from this month's money and the insurance excess refund will then be mine. It's the common sense thing to do (remember the S M A R T post at the beginning of the thread) but its whether I can manage with a hatchback when I've had an estate for so long.
He's lending it to me for a few days next week to see how I get on with it!0 -
Worst night's sleep for years last night. Not sure whether I'd worried myself to a lather about this blessed cup final or not but managed about an hour's sleep in total.
Been hazy all day in my head but not as hazy as our boys' football team. Were 5-0 down in the cup final at half time and conceded a sixth early in the second half but managed then to sort ourselves out and ended up losing 6-1.
Straight home for lunch then down to Yeovil to see them draw 1-1 with Oldham, our equaliser coming from a player who became a father on Friday!!:T
No spends today - tomorrow the boys play again in the morning before a parents meeting at lunchtime, a parents football match in the afternoon and a managers meeting in the evening.0 -
Better day results wise today as the lads won 4-1 in their last league game of the season this morning. My two played their final matches for the team as they'll stay within the club but switch to my team next year.
Then this afternoon, after a brief lunch, we went to the annual parents match where I played in goal and we won 3-2, coming from two goals down after ten minutes. Roasting hot today and I'm a lot browner than I was this morning - colour wise, I've gone from ato a
and almost a ....
Managers meeting tonight and then back to watch Match Of The Day 2 and start planning for next season. Tomorrow is a golf day and weather permitting, might get even browner and win a competition while I'm at it.
Spends - £3.75 on drinks tonight and £1.93 in Tesco's Express tonight.0 -
Lost my first post into the ether so will make this one brief. Had a great time at the golf day, finishing fifth and winning a prize. Spent £18 on diesel to get there plus around a fiver on drinks.
Tomorrow sees me needing to catch up on paperwork, sort out my new vehicle and go to a friendly match in the afternoon.0 -
A slightly more relaxed day today after four days of bedlam. Managed to get a lie in of sorts today after several early mornings and then got quite a few articles written and up on the website. Even had time to do two more tonight so obviously the creative juices are flowing today!!:D
Went to a friendly match behind closed doors at lunchtime (basically only press and club staff get to watch it) and enjoyed the company of the opposition media types who are good friends.
Tonight have been to Asda shopping and spent £31 but that includes £8 on four Easter eggs and a fiver on a photo frame.
Tomorrow is football training night so will pick the boys up around 2pm and take them back at 8pm.0
