Afternoon all! I went to bed very late last night and had drunk a glass too many of vino (oops), but got up at 8 with a bad head to wait for the delivery of my new washer/dryer...It arrived at half past three:rolleyes:
Anyway it's now washing the first load - looking forward to dried jeans straight out of the machine!! Is it right to be this exited about a household appliance?
I don't think we'll dry everything in it (as it takes too long and costs a lot), but it's so nice not having wet laundry all over the flat...

Have managed to catch up. I didnt sleep too well last night. Once a week I tend to wake about 2am so usually make a cuppa and read for a while. Its been a beautiful day here so have washed the outsides of the back and front windows and doors. Did a HHG too. Made a few shopping trips up the street and got a few xmas presents. It was so lovely this afternoon I went for a walk around the Country Park. I couldnt believe how warm it was. Im not expecting many trick or treaters as there is only 1 little girl in the street.
Hugs for everyone specially Lady L and Toots.0 -
Bet I don't get any trick or treaters now I've searched my cupboards and made up a few bags of bits and pieces!!
I'm making a chicken casserole for supper to use up the odds & ends in the fridge (cooked chicken, spinach, green pepper) and adding some dried mushrooms. I'll have it with rice and a bit of broccoli. I think I've got enough food to get me through the week (there's loads in the freezer if I remember to get it out!) as I really don't want anything left in the fridge when I go.
I MUST sort out my desk/filing and the house insurance tomorrow, as well as clearing out my clothes.
(((hugs))) fedup re. the rat. Do you have any idea where it had come from or how it ended up dying on your doorstep...
madcatgirl - of course it's exciting getting a household appliance that's going to make your life so much easier! Just don't tell anyone other than us quite how excited you are!
Glad you had a nice day sexymouse. I hope you feel better for having talk to Lady L about the school. It's probably good to speak to someone who isn't involved, but does know about it, as they can give you sensible advice.
Hope you've enjoyed the footie froddy!0 -

There has been a strong smell of animals in the garden shed for months, then when we put a trap in there it disappeared. Today when I got home there was no smell at all yet when I returned from walking the dog the smell was so strong and I eventually found it next to some chairs I was going to rennovate decomposing - oh dear!
Outside is stinking of disinfectant now and I will need to do a big sweep up tomorrow when it dries.
Looks like the trick and treating is over for tonight - some excellent costumes and very polite littlies!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Trickor treaters seem to have finished here too, but the bonfires and fireworks have started, so kitchen light and radio on for the dog...can't see up the street for the smoke and some of the neighbours have left their dogs out....hope they get them in before x-factor or I will have to turn the volume up!!!
Started S+Sing the kitchen but it has somehow turned into a hotspot the last couple of days so will have to do a couple of HHC 's in there....may make a start in the adverts of x-factor...0 -
Where out of treats but I think most of the trick and treaters have been. We live in a lovely community, heaving with young children so had at least 50 to the door. Just 4 minutes until X factor - go Jedward! The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Evening all
Diva, love the pumpkins!
Jassa - the potato peeler :rotfl::rotfl: that's the sort of thing I do...
Greenbee - trick and treaters - I always tell them that I don't give sweets to strangers so give them some loose change instead. I've only had one lot knock so far tonight and that was a group of 3. I gave them £1 to share between themselves
Dusty hugs for your son - hope he recovers soon xxx
I have been on a roll writing today but did drag myself away to go foraging for food. DD has taken the hint and has started to move stuff from the front room to DS's old room so that's progress.
BB is playing up big time what with the fireworks that are going off randomly and the fact her hormones must be settling down even though DD took her for a long run this morning. She is currently barking at something in the park at the bottom of the garden. I will have to shut her indoors soon if she doesn't pack it in.
Had a lovely invitation this evening. My little bro has season tickets for Arsenal for himself and his son. His son can't make a game in early December so lil bro has emailed to see if I would like to go on that season ticket. Well, I have a grin as wide as that of the Cheshire cat on my face. I've only been to Highbury to watch a game once. This will be a real treat!
But, my lamb chops are nearly ready. I'll go do stars to ease Toots' burden and then sort out some vegI am the leading lady in the movie of my life
