No trick or treaters here, thankfully! Unlikely due to where we live (and the fact we've got most of the lights off!)

Lovely risotto for tea followed by a film. I had a shower at 6ish and have been in pjs ever since. Hot choc now before bed I think...i may even add a glug of brandy for good measure!

Greenbee - trick and treaters - I always tell them that I don't give sweets to strangers so give them some loose change instead. I've only had one lot knock so far tonight and that was a group of 3. I gave them £1 to share between themselves
As predicted, once I'd sorted out stuff to give them, no one turned up! They don't usually, as there aren't many littlies in the street any more. Someone is having a bonfire/firework party. Hopefully they'll shut up and go inside soon (pity it isn't raining :D).

I can't believe you're going to brave London ... that's the second time this year isn't it :p?

I've watched my trashy DVD, done my nails and feet and am feeling a bit more human. I need to remember to book a legwax tomorrow, so that it's dealt with before I go away.

Also need to do the laundry and some general flying, and I'm hoping a friend will go to the farmers market, but if she isn't coming, I might have to go on my own (I'm trying to avoid using the car until the brake bits are replaced...) as I need fruit juice.

I suppose I should clear up the kitchen and have an early night! It's either that or start doing something useful now.

Dusty hope your son is better soon
    ((hugs)) for rach
smileyt you're so lovely taking on foster teens, some can be such hard work, hope he settles down soon for you

Well third attempt to post today, last time was interupted by a power cut....can't find my mobile bb dongle from yesterdays caravan unpacking, doh! Kids were screaming who didn't have lanterns as the street lights went out, I'd popped out to make sure my 'older' as she hates being called 'elderly' (they are coming up 80) neighours next door had torches/candles and ended up guiding a few youngsters home with a torch

Only had 3 trick or treaters here, then a chat with a neighbour I didn't know lived here someone I knew years ago, haven't seen her for 13 years!!! Bit of a blast from the past..I don't actually allow my boys out trick or treating, call me all the kill joys you like lol, they do howver go to at least 2 parties & I do buy for other kids. The neighbour I 'met' tonight her DD brought the boys a bag of treats from their house which was lovely of her, really nice girl (she was 2 the last time I seen her, now 15)

Caravan is now back in storage until spring :( unless we go away Xmas apart from cleaning, quite a sad feeling that the holidaying is over for a while. 6th washer load in, trying to get all caravan linen washed, dried & vacuum bagged. Still need to finish emptying my car & have a shower.....want it doing before the rain gets here in the morning.
One day I might be more organised...........

Hi, just found this in Dunelm mill....(£9.99..compared to £19.99 at Lakeland)...does anyone have one and do they find it usefull?
    I wanted one of those.
I'm not going to have one now though as there would never be enough to put in it as I take stuff up all the time ;)

anyway had a nice time at the concert - we TRAILED round Sheffield looking for it 30 mins or more - then we we got there I pointed across the road and announced THATS the way we should have come.
My friend and I left the venue at 11 and were on the train by 10 past... (11.20 train so plenty of time).
Interestingly she, it turns out, is unfamiliar with Sheffield City Centre - I hadn't realised this. I am VERY familiar with it usually but I had never been to the Boardwalk before and didn't know where it was.
Kids however (who were DISGUSTED that I was out two nights in a row) have been decluttered. DS wanted a sleepover here but since I was out it got moved elsewhere. I last saw him around 10 pm - he'd been in and out but I wasn't here. DD was persuaded to stay over at her dad's - he is supposed to have them overnight but it's left to them whether they want to stay; DS never does (he likes his own bed, usually...) but DD will. And she has! So no worries for me!
And exOH likes having her on her own - DS is 'in your face' and she doesn't always get a look in - she does with me but I know what I'm dealing with - and the first time she stayed with him on her own he was quite surprised/impressed with her attitude and said how nice it was spending time just with her. So that will have worked well. Obviously I don't have huge swatches of time to spend but we do a lot of things together - trips to Ikea, town etc and she can always be persuaded to come for a coffee with me! She's quite the young lady really...
When she was a crawler she learned that daddy came home just after 2 pm and used to put off her afternoon nap. She would hear the car go and crawl to the back door to greet him - and he used to accuse me of keeping her up on purpose. When we split I thought she would be the child I would lose because she loved her daddy so much. But when he was not working he didn't see them for a while and she lost a little of that total adoration she had for him.
(He actually refused to allow me to take them to see him because he did not want to be beholden to me. What he DID NOT realise was I was NOT the person being hurt - in the main DD was!)
And of course DS hasn't gone to dads - no saturday night grumps. I haven't been able to talk to him about why he comes back from his dads in such a foul mood...the opportunity has not presented itself, although I do have my suspicions.
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY
