Utube, Black Knight Associates don't appear on the MOJ register but do on the data protection register, they incorporated in July 2009 so a "very" new company also.... why are they not registered at MOJ....???? I have googled them and they seem to be a claims management company from their website, same layout as loancheck actually. I just cannot understand why they have not got a claims management number?
It does say on their site though
9.1 We have internal procedures for handling complaints. In the first instance You should contact our customer services department at PO Box 4728, Shrewsbury SY1 9FG
9.2 If You are not satisfied then You may refer the complaint to the Claims Management Regulator at Monitoring & Compliance Unit, 57-60 High Street, Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, DE14 1JS, who can be contacted by telephone on 0845 450 6858, by fax on 0845 450 6866, or by email at0 -
hi all
i see that there are lots of people having trouble with solicitors since i started this thread, my mum is also having trouble with watsons and it seems that they feature on here alot. mine however is with a company called 1st solicitors based in stafford, i think i could now write a book for all solicitors with excuses as to why they can't talk to you as i have heard hundreds, i would probably get it written and published and on the book shelves quicker than i would get a reply from my solicitor, wouldn't it be nice to have them just be honest with their clients and tell us all what the problems are, even if it was bad news that everything is on hold due to loancheck or whatever they are called now going bust (or have they), i get more confused by the day. i started all this ppi reclaiming back in june 2007 and have just about had enough of false hopes and promises from various people including the solicitor that was appointed to look after my cases, i was told by him that it would all be done and dusted within 9 months of me signing up with him which was in may 2008 and now he won't even acknowledge my letters, e mails or phone calls. just to have someone be honest and straight would be a refreshing change.
good luck to all that seem to be in the same situation as me at the moment and trust me my fingers are firmly crossed that everyone on here will egt the justice they deserve.

From my reserach they would appear to be a software house that were incorporated in July of this year but had previously traded as a Partnership.
They commenced providing funding for solicitors almost immediately after they were incorporated and are apparently backed by a very large Shropshire company who operate within a wholly un-associated market.
Their main site does not carry any of the above but they also have developed a PPI website for those MOJ regulated companies wishing to enter this market.
(If you try and use the features of the site it doesn't allow access and you have to be MOJ regulated to buy credits - I've tried)!!0 -
I'm not sure where you're looking but blackknightassociates.com is the website I've been researching.
the loancheck.co.uk site doesn't appear to be working.
ppiclaims4u.com (http) etc but don't want to plug the website.
I am not sure who is who here.0 -
loancheck and the solicitor both said that i had to pursue the lenders not the brokers
Did they explain why? Normally you should complain to whoever sold you the policy in the first instance. They should either respond to you themselves or pass it on to whoever takes responsibility for the sale on their behalf.
Unless they were acting as a representative of the lender regarding the sale of the PPI then the lender is unlikely to be responsible and you will get nowhere at FOS because the lender will simply have said "not us".0 -

You have to understand the process of how you acquire the insurance. I agree that the broker "sells" you the idea of having the insurance and he normally ticks the box requesting the cover. However, it is the lender that will have an arrangement with the insurance company and it is the lender who will receive the commission for arranging it. This can be anything from 50%-80% of your premium.
The lender will then use part of the commission they have been paid to remunerate the broker for their part in the process.
The lenders will gladly allow you to understand that it is the broker at fault here but they are fully aware of their responsibilities. Having had a conversation with a solicitor who defends lenders, I know this to be true.
So Loancheck are correct regarding this issue. The practicalities of running cases to a conclusion is another matter.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
Still haven't heard anything despite being told ours was being passed to another law firm. So have decided to contact the law society regarding Watson's and also the BBC's Watchdog. I think everyone concerned with the whole thing from the starting point right through to the solicitors being used should be exposed and made to answer. I'm fed up with being fobbed off. If anyone else is thinking about taking the same action then please do so. These firms need to be shut down for good.0

ALso is your complaint one that FOS could have looked into for you. I know that where firms are unregulated at the time of loans FOS is taking complaints against insurers/underwriters now which would be under compulsory jurisdiction but do you have all your paperwork and also COULD you pull out. Someone posted that they had waited 2 years but if they pulled out now they would be charged. Have you actually signed anything with them?0 -
Hi Marshallka, yes, we signed a conditional fee arrangement. I would love to be able to pull out but it states quite clearly that we can terminate at any time but will be liable for costs etc
I have just finished a letter to watson's. I have given them formal notice of my intention to make complaint to the law society legal complaints service. I have demanded to know the whereabouts of my case files and also if they are no longer being pursued then I wish for all personal data to be returned.
I have also asked that if it is their intention to terminate the agreement then I want it in writing so as I can close the matter.
I hope they terminate to be honest so as I can sort things out myself. At least I can then go forward.
I've done everything by the book this morning, giving them 28 days to respond etc. It's going off by recorded delivery today so it'll be interesting to see what the response (if any) is.
However, if I have to get tough I will.
Yes, mine were complaints that could have been dealt with easily as they were taken out just after regulation came in. So they are pretty bog standard complaints. At the time I didn't know anything about reclaiming and found it all a bit daunting. I was pm'd and told that it could all be done for me so I went along with it. What a mistake! I've since reclaimed 3 lots on my own on other accounts, stood my ground with LTSB and got them all back.
If anyone else out there is still waiting to hear from watson's or loancheck whatever, can you please let us know.0
