loancheck/solicitors claiming ppi

Utube, just been looking at the loancheck website and it seems they are now checking for mistakes in APR's etc
Whether or not you have paid off your loan or mortgage, we can identify overcharging, excessive account charges, interest rate errors and repossession shortfalls.
Is this a change of business??? Nothing about PPI misselling or loans being written off/voided etc...0 -
Marshallka, the wording on their website has not changed for nearly 2 years - they have never concentrated on PPI or voiding loans.
It is for this reason that their cases take such a long time.
However, the maximum they should take is around 18 months.
Seems to me that they have done a lot of paper pushing and little has been achieved by them in the last 4 years.
They are, of course, regulated by the MOJ so at least consumers have someone to complain to and if enough of them do so Loancheck will have its registration withdrawn.

The Loancheck Service was always about loan and mortgage auditing. Finding errors in calculations and basically the effects on the account resulting from non-disclosed commissions and mis-sold products.
Sadly this service, which was designed to be an ethical and efficient way of assisting the public has been allowed to drag itself into the mire, resulting in chaos.
I have my own opinions as to how and why this has happened and I will keep those to myself. Personally I have three cases with them that are now going nowhere. I am not inclined to use them moving forward so you can reed what you like into that.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
I could not possibly comment except that hind sight is a wonderful thing. I wish I had possessed it at the time.
However, I did end up with a huge amount of knowledge I would not have had otherwise. I certainly hope to put that knowledge to good use in assisting as many people as possible over the next few years without charging any fees whatsoever. It is possible although not easy to establish but I am confident that it will finally happen in early 2010.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

Hi! Peter,
I am sorry I have not responded to your message as yet, the reason being that almost all of my cases have been partially dealt with by Loancheck and we must remember that they are not the only ones not going anywhere - I have a case with Cartel which I paid for and it is well over 2 years and I have not had a single word from them. Try calling them on the phone and it goes directly to an answering service. They just ignore all emails - I guess I will just have to write to them via registered mail.
I am just sick and tired of these fraudsters.

Why not use the information on here & do it yourself, you will then get to keep all the money & you won't get ripped off by these crooks.0 -
My case against Worst Plus may (or may not) be progressing with a local firm of Solicitors. I have signed a conditional fee agreement, get occasional letters and forms to fill in, so fingers crossed. I just work on the theory that, if I do get any money back, it is a bonus, and am expecting nothing. Reading this thread has hardly raised my aspirations.0

The problem is from my point is that there are claims companies that are winning cases and people are now getting paid out quite quickly. The issue I have always had is that for people like you with First Plus who usually have reasonably large loans and high value PPI you should not have to pay to get your due rewards.
There are means that will allow you to keep 100% of your compensation but the major claims companies do not use this route. They prefer to charge their back end fees or as some of the companies mentioned do not appear to run the cases at all. No names mentioned or we will have another threat of law suits.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

I was going via a loancheck company but now the solicitors who were appointed have said that after having had no response from the administrators of Loancheck, they are going to deal with my claim direct. I've previously signed a CFA so does this mean I will keep all of any award I may receive and the solicitors/counsel will claim their money from the loan company ?0
