  • hi, I have just posted on another board. I too am another victim of this. mine has been going on for 20 months. I have gotten nowhere with Watson's either. I have been given a varying range of excuses since february. mostly computer virus related, needing more information. and manual audits. I have only just found out this morning that this has all gone pear shaped. I too am in extreme financial difficulty and this has just about put the icing on the cake. I've not heard anything. I've been told on the phone that my cases have been passed on and I will here something shortly. when?
    This is an absolute nightmare!

    Hi Ruby,
Loancheck has passed mine to another company who has the funds to take it to a solicitor.
Had a letter explaining it all.
Wel done Pinknico. I got an email out of the blue from yourloancheck explaining to me that they couldn't locate one of my cases, one was not worth the effort as the quntum was too low and hence was rejected and another case was being audited.
I am absolutely livid as the case that cannot be located is identical in every aspect to the one that is being handled currently by Watsons solicitors, as it is exactly the same product. To be told initially that the case was ready for allocation and now to be told that the case cannot be located - what a lot of nonsense. Are these people serious about this whole business - I wonder.

A still very angry and worried Ruby
  • It's about time that everyone involved in running this cowboy business was made to answer, compensate customers & banned from working in claims management. Customers are being given false hopes & are probably being ripped off by them.

This should show as a warning to anyone considering going to a claims management company, do it yourself, there is plenty of information & help to get you the refund you want.

I'm going get some legal advice regarding this. I want to know exactly where I stand and if this is indeed being allocated to someone else. If not, then I want my files back. I will then have to look at going down another avenue. I am sick with worry over this. 6-9 months was our original expectation as informed by someone else who regularly posts on this very site. (you know who you are!) I am also livid. This was our last chance at clearing enough debt to be able live at a manageable pace. As it is, we've been stripping the house and selling everything not nailed down to meet our monthly outgoings. We've almost run out of stuff to sell.
When I phoned back in february and asked quite sarcastically "was there any chance that this was going to be resolved this year" I was quite literally laughed at down the phone and told "well of course it will, good grief it's only the beginning of february" what utter liars! I've been lied to all through the year with excuse after excuse. everything from waiting for final audits, computer viruses, having to audit manually, then waiting to proceed to court for disclosure...............and on and on and on.
The annoying thing is that I have actually managed to reclaim 3 (albeit small) lots of ppi on past loans myself. If i'd have known it was that easy i'd have done it myself and had my money back ages ago and been able to manage. As it is, i've had the year from hell topped off by these utter cowboys. MERRY CHRISTMAS Loancheck, Severn administration (or whatever you're calling yourselves these days) and Watson's. I hope yours is as c**p as ours is going to be!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad mine's not gone further now, its disheartening being let down as well, with it not getting anywhere and all with broken promises, gutting indeed.
I'm so lucky to have been given another chance with the FOS just recently and agree the best action would be to give it a go yourself, there are ways around this.
Before I did not think it was possible, but with thanks to Marshallka her encouragement, great advice and a push back in the right direction, without the use of a claims company it can be done.

I almost made a bad mistake and have now learnt by it, so folks do give it a go yourselves, so sorry for the ones who have been through this as well, I wasted time, but not anymore.;)

  • Hi

I too went through Loancheck with about 6 PPI cases, started in 2008. All the cases have now been assigned to solicitors. Two are with Watsons who will not ring you back and send you any updates. I was signed up to "no win no fee" in 2008.

I keep ringing and Mr Watsons is never available to speak with...

I am very tempted to sue Watsons or get "Watchdog"on their back.

As a law firm do they not have a duty of care to keep their clients updated on progress of files and reply to correspondence and calls?

They are totally out of order!! I would not recommend them to anyone.

I am very angry as I was introduced to "Loancheck" originally due to the volume of cases I had.

Any suggestions, How I should deal with Watsons?

WHen you say "your were signed up to a no win, no fee" does that mean that you WOULD be charged a fee if you won only according to posts on here "its a completely free service" using access to justice????

Also this firm must have a hell of a lot of "your" data too....

I would make a complaint against the solicitor just as you would against a bank/lender/broker here as they must be regulated.

The "no win no fee" part is when the solicitor signs you up. The Loancheck service was free!

I will be complaining about the solicitor, its disgraceful!

You think as you are dealing with a solicitor you are in good hands! Don't be fooled

UTUBE you are certainly a valuable source of information. Well done on your posting. Re points 9 & 10: Well I hope our files are being dealt with and will be sure to post on any correspondance I may recieve regarding this.and yes, time will certainly tell...........
on a more personal note though, thank you UTUBE for taking the time to source this information and to help people out here. I think many of us are at a loss as to what to do next. I know I am. At least your information gives us some clue as to what to expect next.
    THANKS!!!!
