Just to clarify, The company I worked with was the main introducer to the Loancheck Service. I was not an employee of Loancheck, more an associate.
I was reminded many times that I was not part of Loancheck while working "along side" them.

What is more important here is that valid cases are run to conclusion rather than discussing whether data is protected. All solicitors will have data protection.

But Peter, weren't you involved in Loancheck Limited which was trading from the same address as your firm Professional Investments and wasn't John Whittaker a shareholder of Professional Investments as well?

What happened to all of those clients of Professional Investments when they went bust?

My firm was an introducer to the Loancheck Service only. I was reminded of that fact on a regular basis LOL.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.

Is that similar to the broker lender thing we have going on here. FOS tell us to go after the brokers, you always say the lenders?

Not quite Karen. I believed then and believe even more strongly now that the facility to claim this stuff back without fees is the way to go. Loancheck were the ONLY company offering such a service. Sadly it was allowed to go pear-shaped but the intentions were excellent.

As for those cases still outstanding, including mine, the issues are with the solicitors who entered into agreements with clients. Loancheck merely put the scheme together. The solicitors action the cases.

  • I have been waiting for 2 years for a resolution to a mis-sold PPI that PIL transferred to Watsons solicitors. I have now been served a charge on my house and Watsons have done !!!!!! all except refuse to return my callsand clearly not represent me in court. Is this what you are all on about?

It is about time that the Ministry of Justice removed registration from these fly by night companies, I know the Revenue & Customs are now starting to take notice of the increasing numbers of companies that keep on going bust & then restarting under a new name. They have the powers to ban the directors from starting new companies or from being a director of any other company as well as hefty fines.

If everyone who has suffered from using this company complained to MoJ maybe they might start to take notice.

There really is no need to use these companies, there is plenty of help on here & on other sites to do it yourself, you just need patience & persistance.

I have been doing some more digging - I think you'll find that the real problems here lie with (particularly) Watsons Solicitors in Llandudno.

It would seem that they sub-contracted most of their work to a Loancheck Group company that has now gone into administration which is why the files have not been worked on for some time.

These cases need to be transferred to a new law firm as soon as possible and my understanding is that this process has already started which is good news (at last) for the consumers.
