hi
Please be clear on this. Protected Investments acted as an introducer to the Loancheck Service, only. It had no say, choice or part in the decision making processes to place cases with particular solicitors and at the end of the day PIL was forced into liquidation by Severn Administration.
I have sympathy for anyone who is having similar problems. I am in the same boat. I sincerely hope that your issues are resolved quickly, especially as you have now received an offer to settle.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
Hi - i havent heard anything - in fact i have took it to the Ombudsman, as at the end of the day - i still feel that Watsons havent done enough - after all they have had this case for over 2 and a half years!!0

Hi Lesleyn
Do you mean that you have taken it to the FOS without being released from the Contract. I do appreciate you are fed up waiting but I am concerned that you are going to get clobbered for all charges up to now.
Perhaps try giving them another ring when I ring their office I am given another number which gets me straight through to the Solicitor handling my case and he gives me updates whenever I ring.
One particular one of mine is in the "queue" as I know he had taken on so much work he could not cope and he has taken on more Solicitors to help. Another one was taken to a conclusion within eighteen months.
I really hope this gets sorted for you Lesleyn. Good Luck:mad:0 -
It seems that the best policy is not to get involved with this company, & if you already are seek advice from your local CAB or from another solicitor on how to get out of contract with them without getting clobbered for charges.
If they cannot provide the service they claim they can, they should not be able to work in this service.0 -
Can somebody please tell me what will happen to those cases that loancheck failed to allocate to a solicitor. I was told several times varying stories about my cases ranging from they were ready for allocation to /the ceo was meeting with the information commisioner to complain about lenders refusing to divulge information. I wonder what the truth is. Can somebody throw some light.
Also, one of my cases is being handled by Watsons solicitors and sometime in September i received a letter explaining that the lender was being asked for further information and they had an initial 7 days to acknowledge receipt of the letter and then a further 21 days in which to provide the evidence prior to court action. Is this normal.

Hi Ruby
I cannot answer the first part of your query but the second paragraph for the further information is quite normal so please do not be concerned.:mad:0 -
Hi Ruby,
Loancheck has passed mine to another company who has the funds to take it to a solicitor.
Had a letter explaining it all.DS1 12/10/04
DS2 13/07/06
DD1 06/12/070 -
There seams to be alot of confusion surrounding Loancheck eg is it changed its name has the administrators gone bust (severn), is the new administration company SALOP MANAGEMENT LIMITED ?
has anybody had any luck anywhere?0
