Its still a long time though Pinknico being since May 08 that Lesley signed papers and the papers stated that if she pulled out she would get charged for any work done. Surely these solicitors would have got back to her before now and it must be very frustrating that Lesley has now signed and cannot go to FOS without threat of being charged for any work done so far. Also don't loancheck have lots of divisions too?

Just found this on complaints about loancheck

NOTICE NONE OF THE LINKS WORK AT THE SIDE EITHER or THE TOP?????

I've just checked the link in your quote and it is the same link I found a few weeks ago when I Googled "Loancheck complaints". I sent a detailed email to the email link on the site and lo and behold the lady who was one of the problems in not returning my messages etc; responded. As it happens her response did not answer my complaints and I sent a further email which has been ignored.

My "case" if you can call it that has gone on for a couple of years at least. I was told that my final audit report was ready in about the August of 2008. From there on I regularly requested a copy. It finally arrived about 11 months ago or so. At this stage the "case" was with the solicitor. It again took many, many unreturned phone calls and emails before I finally I was granted a conference type phone call with the solicitor at a particcular time in the first week of June of this year. At the end of the call the solicitor asked me check something (which I did over that weekend) and he said that he would contact the administration office ( I take it that would have been Severn Administration at that time) and he would call me back the following week. Needless to say he didn't.

Since then I have phoned him on countless times and emailed him on several occasions all to no avail, culminating in my complaint several weeks ago - which in turn has been effectively ignored. So, it appears to be a complete waste of time.

As an aside does anyone know who are the governing body for them?
  • Since my earlier post I've gone back and read all the other posts. Sorry to hear that so many others have been so badly let down by Loancheck/Severn/Watsons etc; My solicitors are Watsons as well.

I do think that something should be done about those involved by the authorities (whoever the authorities are that can provide a solution).

I wait with bated breath to see the Tonight documentary or the feature on Watchdog.

Thanks to all the posters who have provided some very useful information on here.

I see that Loancheck are no longer mentioned as a reputable company in the PPI reclaiming guide.

I was told about a week before christmas that basically all current cases that were in limbo were being assessed as to which had the most promising chances of success. Those that are looking promising will be brought to court swiftly apparently so as to reach a conclusion for those like myself who have been waiting around 2 years. I have no idea if either of my cases have been selected, I am waiting to hear. I will update as I find out.

Its still not good enough though is it basically for all the others who have waited for 2 years also and they are not taking to court. I thought the whole thing of the looking into the agreement was to actually say if you have a case for definate of not and if its likely to be cut and dried. What have they messed people around for for 2 years??? People should still make complaints about this company I think.
  • Isn't it time that this company was forcibly shut down, clients released from contracts & anyone associated with the running of the company prosecuted, they are nothing but conmen & fraudsters.

agree, agree and agree again. I will wait with baited breath as to whether any of mine are allocated. But YES an absolute disgrace. The whole idea I also thought, was to tell people right from the start whether they had a chance of success or not. a 2 year wait is no joke.

    Agreed.

During the last 2 years they have (allegedly) spent over £3m of investors money whilst not assisting their clients.

That's in addition to the £millions (allegedly) wasted prior to this.

    That is the real story!!!!

The common denominator seems to be Mr John Whittaker who has been at the forefront of all of these misdemeanours.

I would steer well clear of this lot
I would be questioning WHY they have done this and is there more to it?? They hold everyones data don't they?? Some of the companies that were "in" with the main company being "loancheck" were not actually registered with the data protection to handle the data?? Seems all too dodgy to me.

    Agreed

I've also noticed that their website no longer carries the "Check Now" link.

I understand that the software company that licenses this product to them has withdrawn their license

They probably have been reading this thread!!!
I think that was done a long time ago wasn't it in that the new website did not have a link of "check now" but the question still arises as to why they got so many peoples data and what could happen with all this data. I still think that more people need to complain about them. It needs a thorough investigation really and people need their personal data back where it belongs. Lets face it this company is no better (even worse in my eyes) than the banks/finance companies it was slating and telling people to get their loans written off/ voided etc ....because they were crooks. Pot and kettle come to mind here:rolleyes:. At least FOS can intervene with the finance companies and banks.
