LOL - the mobile home! I can't believe that!
My partner moved into her flat 4 years ago and the rather pleasant (ex gang according to neighbours) vendor had been renting the property previously. He left all the dated manky furniture - including the double bed with used sheets and duvet cover! URGH!0 -
I would disagree and would expect the fish to be staying unless told otherwise.
I've seen stories where buyers have sued because the vendor remove the fish - full grown ones are worth hundreds each.
I assumed the fish would stay with my purchase, but made sure I asked anyway as I wanted them!0 -
I was in the loft room at home, which a teenage boy had once occupied. There were stacks of "cars and boobs" magazine, which I had to carry all the way downstairs. I don't know what the magazine was called, but from the covers it seemed to be interested in those two things.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.
I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

when i sold my flat, the buyers father was handling the deal on their behalf. he thought he was a big shot negotiator and i disliked him intently. I also didn't like the fact his offer was lower than i wanted, but had no other offers, so what could I do. Anyway, i asked him if he wanted to buy the fitted blinds. He said no. I asked again nearer the time, and he still said no, but i could leave them for free. that was nice of him.
Anyway, the day before we completed I removed each blind and broke it. I then left each one in a heap at the bottom of the window.
I had pleasure for many weeks, if not months driving past and seeing them with no blinds. still makes me laugh. AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA have that hateful dad.0 -

The previous owners of our house left a full size industrial sunbed in one of the bedrooms. Goodness knows how they had time on moving day but it was just used and covered in sweat, with a pair of those little goggles and a towel beside it. There was also a half empty bottle of Somerfield cheap vegetable oil.
They also found time that day to remove the PIR security light from outside (leaving live wires), which was a real !!!!!! as it was dark by the time we arrived and it would have been so helpful if we were able to see what we were doing.0 -
When we moved into our place the previous owners had taken the curtain rails, along with the curtains, even though the list stated they'd leave them up.
I think they got confused as the list stated they'd be taking all the light fittings, so we bought our own, only to discover they'd left all of them up.
The shed was left with a working chest freezer in.
When my next door neighbour moved, she took her house # which i never understood as she didn't move into a house with the same # so what use was it?? She also took her washing line.
My in laws unfortunately left the main bedroom with a different shade of carpet under the bed when they moved, they had a water bed and decided it was too much effort years ago to drain the water out and move the bed in order to re carpet so just carpeted around the bed. They completely forgot about it, until move day. The main carpet was a lovely beige, with the carpet under the bed a nice red with loads of multi coloured flowers on it.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
I'm with your buyers on this one. The fish are not fixtures and fittings and it's fair for the buyers to assume they are going with you unless you say not. If you had a rabbit or a dog you'd expect to take it with you surely?
pets like rabbits and dogs etc of course you would take with you. they knew full well that there was a pond there and had never mentioned that they didn't want to keep them. What if I had taken them and they turned round and said why did I take their fish!Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I was left a chest freezer in my first home. A 1950's shop sign and a 1890's pub sign in my current house.
I remember years ago some people I knew had haggled the price of the house at the last minute and had obviously upset the vendors as the day they moved in they found every light switch, door handle and carpet removed, best/worst bit was the brand new stair carpet had been ripped up and dumped outside the front door. I thought it served them right but they couldn't see it.
I viewed a house before my last move and was told on viewing that the wife of the couple had stained the glass above the front door so they would be taking that with them  I asked if they would be replacing it and they looked at me really oddly and the EA said Oh I sure they will make it secure. Needless to say I ran a mile!!0 -

I have to say I'm on the "take the fish with you side"! you are buying a house, not a commitment to look after these fish for the rest of their lives! Just because they are in / on the premises doesn't make them part of the house. Course a simple "are the fish staying?" would surely have been sensible!!I'm proud of my advice, if others want to look I say enjoy the show!0
