my boyfriend found a half eaten pizza in its box above the kitchen cabinets a few weeks after moving in (he was tryin to find where the smell was coming from!!) they had also never cleaned the carpets in the house and the gunk/dirt that came out when we had it done was vile.
they are the most well turned out ppl u will ever see, they still live in the village - never jude a book and all that.

    The bannister from the stair?!

But better than that was what the owners of a friends house didn't take.......being all their stuff! They phoned on the day of completion to say that they would be holding onto a set of keys for the weekend and moving their stuff out over the weekend. The solicitor had to request that the funds were stopped and held until all the persons stuff had been moved the following week. I'm sure that's not normal!
Mortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Blog link http://beautifulorpractical.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-this-is-all-new.html :j

Oh yes - we were left with some darts trophies. :)
  • I'm sure that it's a common enough thing, but my vendor left me his used toilet brush when I moved in..... just plain icky

He didn't take anything out of the ordinary with him though, so I'm feeling quite lucky compared with some of the posts here. I'm waiting to exchange on my new house now, so will wait with baited breath to see what, if anything, gets taken!
Lead me not into temptation - I can find it perfectly well all by myself :D

Had a similar thing but this was in a rented house. Front room, they had painted the floor boards black. The room had various bits of 70's furniture and a blue rug..........I got permission to bin all these items, when I moved them......they had painted around the furniture and the rug!!!

LOL! Maybe they had one of those Changing rooms-in-an-a-hour makeover progs in to "do it over" .

!!!!!!?!?! I'd have requested keys to their new house for a week, to store my stuff in while they moved....

When my mum moved into her new house she found that the sellers had taken the batteries from all the smoke alarms - charming people!

Maybe they just ran out prior to this, and they got annoyed by the beeping they make to warn you? I've known it happen!
  • I moved into a rented flat in central London and the owners had pained around the bed ! Even around the headboard, and it was not secured to the floor !

Sorry, what do you mean 'they pained around the bed'?

When I bought my place the guy left B&Q flooring and wall paper in the attic.

I immediately took it back for a refund- was the best part of £150 :money:

You need a receipt for a refund.
