I liked that post, we've certainly had "collapsing" of frames, 5 frames in total so far, not only in summer either.

real issues such as the diary of Roy Mayall (pseudonym) and you'll see why. Hence, the workers have my full support on this one. http://www.lrb.co.uk/v31/n18/maya01_.html

This is not exactly a balanced view either. Biased in the extreme would say in the same way the sun reports are biased the other way

I say let the posties and union bosses have their strikes, and 5 minutes of fame.
Its only a matter of time untill the royal mail is sold off, and will the new owners want to have a bunch of lazy good for nothing union boys working for them distrupting their profits? no
If the posties dont like whats happening then they should leave, theres hundreds of other people who will take on the job.
nobody takes any notice of the strikes anymore, its seen as part and parcel of our mail system.
stop sitting on your a*ses and bring me my bills.

Well tbh we have a couple of lazy good for nothing union boys in our office, fair does, but 98% of the posties in our office are hard working, honest people, so let's not go there. Posties walk, I wish we could sit on our a*ses more. :rotfl:
As for the hundreds of people who will take on the job, our latest recruit has just handed his notice in, he's just started his 3rd week in the job  which is happening more and more. Remember, we're not talking about full time jobs here. Part time with a maximum of 24hrs (in our office anyway, custardly will correct me if other offices are different), how many men with families do u know who want to take a part time job to earn what we do?

Cyberbob hilarious, that's why everyone's whining about it :p

Anyhoo, have decided a pot of soup will go down better on Saturday than bacon sarnies, so am off to shops for a big pot of ham n lentil.

well i thought i would tag this on

all these falling mail volumes we hear about due to emails and texts etc

    so to quote RM recently
A spokesman for Royal Mail said: "The item would have travelled along with around 75 million items of regular mail that we handle each day and unfortunately we have no way of tracking them as they travel through our system."

    and Panorama in 1973

around 35 million items a day

must have been more emails back then ;)

I bet e-shopping figures are higher this year than last as well. Most of which will be by RM, whether the item's from Amazon, ebay, Play, or any other of the multitude of online retailers.
Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.
