Well Billy wouldn't get to keep his £100k salary!

I'd kick up a bit of stink if I was at risk of losing that!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
so the posties are all mindless drones who have no self thought?0
-
well we agree
theres plenty of posties who dont see the wood for the trees
some of us do though
i myself have no intention of being a long serving postie so i can honestly say im looking at the bigger picture
on a personal front,i dont want every day at work to be a war of attrition with management.
this is how it is day to day to on the front line just now0 -
Neither side are right.
This 'Us' and 'Them' mentality doesn't work. The workers refer to 'management' as a single entity and vice versa. I'm sure not every manager is looking to stitch up the workforce and not every worker is looking to bring down the management, problem is, they are probably in the minority when they are the people that could probably help most in sorting this out.
I know I am being simplistic, but it is my opinion."A bank* is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it begins to rain."
(*Unless it's Santander. The branch says they sent you an umbrella 3 times already and don't understand why you don't have it yet and want it back right now!!!)0 -

the problem is the managers who 'care' dont last
we have a massive turnover in managers
they dont get sacked they just get moved around as it suits RM
i regularly have to go in the office and find out who is 'my' manager and who exactly it is when they tell me the name
with this turnover the managers see the staff as just numbers as obviously they have no clue who anyone is or what they do or what they can do0 -
Is there really any hope for RM left?..."A bank* is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it begins to rain."

i honestly dont know.
as ive said before changes had to be made.
in delivery posties were finishing way too early.however a lot of this was due to coming in early,no breaks, using their own cars etc so it was artificially early as opposed to their official start times.
now we are at the other end of the scale.
cant complete duties in the time allotted yet are told mail is down,we have the time etc
RM's answer is to keep cutting.
my own office has brought in all of RM's changes yet its not enough.they keep pushing.
the 'absorbtion' of duties is a favourite
now we are told to leave packets, mail or whatever as its suits them on any given day.
moral is at rock bottom, very little chit chat in the office now
every day we get grief for something
long term posties are leaving,we 'lost' 2 a couple of weeks ago.another couple due to leave.
we are struggling now and its not even our busy time0 -
I seriously wish people would stop coming in early and stop not having their tea breaks in our office. It would show the management that 99% of them are working unpaid overtime because the walks are all timed wrong.
I have managed to be lucky and avoid the strike action again, Saturday is my day off this week. Didn't make the picketline on Friday due to having a sick kid at home, but I will be one of the lazy ******** who will be there on Saturday.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
