But by doing it in his car all he is doing is speeding up delivery and giving the managers a false idea of what can be done. By doing this he is just making the situation worse by giving false expectations.
exactly, this is what has been happening for years
now(slowly for some as the video shows  ) posties are realising this
RM were happy with job and finish and posties using cars, missing breaks etc
now they are using this to extend duties
posties stop using cars, going in early, taking D2D's home to make up!!!take breaks etc are being harassed as they 'used to be able to do it'0 -
Apologies for being slightly off topic, and for the fact this has probably been covered, but i wondered what happens on eBay with the strikes?
I want to buy as normal but how long is reasonable to wait? I think eBay give 10 days or so before allowing a NPS dispute but with the strikes should we allow a bit longer or is it the sellers problem?
Thanks! Maybe i'll get some baby bargains if people are put off from bidding with the strikes.0 -
Personally i think rm are shooting themselves in the foot, cheap courier companies are poping up all over the place but as martin mse has said they are offering services provided by the "big boys" and i can see courier drop off points poping up all over the place on your local high st. Eg at the moment dhl have a parcel point in wh smiths and this can be used (i believe from what i understood) even if you used a third party to use their service iyswim, so its no different from having to go to post office, but with fewer queues, hassle and cheaper too. I sell bits on ebay and its only lack of knowledge and a bit of lazziness that keeps me using rm for large parcels etc. But this strike has given me the incentive to use other couriers and services. And like anything once you get used to doing something differently it too becomes normal and then just like that your no longer using rm and saving money too.... (this is just my own simple opinion by the way). But my point is , i believe people use Rm (for parcels) out of familiarity and it wont take much for them to make the change, especially when they see Martin mse on tv telling them it will save them money.

xxYou laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

thats packages (bear in mind DHL etc are parcelforce rivals in comparing like for like) what about the rest of the business?
people use RM for most items as its cheaper
RM has regualted prices so while these couriers can drop their prices at a time like this what about when DHL added a fuel sucharge to their prices?
its a very simplistic view to look at one small part of a large business0 -

It is simplistic and i do refer to parcels , ive actually said this in my post, but the reality is your average jo will probably agree with me...You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

would that be the same joe who were on the forum yesterday surprised they a delivery when there was no delivery strike?
having an opinion is fine but if its not really pertinent to the issues then its a pretty shallow one0 -
